About Kitty Debuff List

By Myrilandell of Lothar

KittyDebuffList is an addon that consolidates and clearly displays debuff information for feral dps druids. It is heavily influenced by Feral Debuff List by cptmurdok, but I wrote this to account for issues I had with his addon. I originally just rewrote a chunk of Feral Debuff List, but that just wasn't good enough, so I wrote this addon to capture the same feel of Feral Debuff List, but to take it further and fix the issues properly.

Unlike Feral Debuff List, Kitty Debuff List will not warn you about Infected Wounds or Demoralizing Roar; it is purely for kitty druids. Kitty Debuff List will only check for your Rip and Rake. However, Kitty Debuff List will accept any reasonable replacement, from any player, for Mangle or Faerie Fire. Mangle replacements are Trauma, Mangle, and Hemorrhage. Faerie Fire replacements are Faerie Fire, Faerie Fire (Feral), Sunder Armor, and Expose Armor.

  • Fixed the memory consumption issue which rendered this addon almost unusable.
  • Separated the translations into their own file, so users can more easily make and share changes for their language.

2

  • Added abbreviated names for the debuffs for Spanish, German, and French clients, using the respective Wowhead sites. Some might not be great, but I tried to choose distinctive and recognizable abbreviations. If you wish to change any, look in kittydebufflist.lua (should be self-explanatory), and don't forget to let me know so I can update the "official" version :)
  • Changed the warning box to not hide during pvp activity.
  • Added a GUI.
  • Added the option to use the full name of the debuff (instead of the abbreviation).
  • Added the option for the exact time remaining (numbers, not just colors).
  • Added the option to change the requirement for "low time".
  • Added the option to change the warnings from center-aligned to left-aligned.

    /farnsworth Bad news everyone!

It seems that my WoW subscription has expired, leaving me no way to continue development on BuffWatcher (or any of my addons, really) since I will have no way to test that the changes I make actually work.

If anyone wishes to pick up development of KDL or any of my other addons, send me an email or a PM (my email is in the ToC) and we can work something out.

Sorry to anyone who was using previous versions of this addon, I sorta left it behind as I've been busy with a job and just not really playing WoW anymore. But it should be a good addon now.

Big release for the addon, this version was very much delayed while I got the alignment option working properly. It was very buggy for a long while, hopefully I got it all sorted out. If you experience any bugs, please let me know.

One thing I noticed is that it is difficult to drag the warning frame while in combat. That one isn't really fixable without redesigning the addon.

Also, localizations! All the localizations should be very easy to update, I tried to find good ones for German, English, Spanish, and French; Chinese, Russian, and Korean defeated me though. If you improve a localization, let me know what you changed it to and I can include it in the official release.
