About LittleWigs

Description

To put it simply, these are BigWigs modules that add some warnings to the bosses found in 5-man instances.

Usage

Drop this folder into the Addons folder like any other addon. It automatically integrates with BigWigs. Should you desire not to see some of the modules in the menu because you feel you don't want them, just delete the corresponding bosses .lua file or the entire zone folder.

Additional Requirements

The latest version of BigWigs Bossmods.

Due to the awesome library system that Ace2 mods use, they have translations for nearly all bosses, zones, spells, and more. That is why those things all work like you'd expect.

However, the actual boss encounters are driven by combat & chat log event triggers, which are obviously different in each language.

If you'd like to help the German translations, I would greatly appreciate it. The best way is probably to visit the website, and scroll to the bottom for how to help gather logs. Then you can open up one of the many boss.lua files and find the text strings named _trigger, those are the ones that have to come straight out of the game, and can't be translated by hand. If you'd like to see some German translation examples check out the Coilfang bosses, they have already been translated to German.

BTW, this goes for all languages, we have pretty good handle on Chinese, Korean, and French, but are really lacking German and Spanish.

i'm just wondering bout the german client.

it shows the correct(localized) names of bosses and instanzes, it autoactivates the correct module on mouseover a boss, it shows the test-bars but.... it doesnt do what it is supposed to do? the only thing i could imagine is that i use a german client and its not statet as german-compatible here, but why the heck the rest works? any idea? (no error msgs)

I'm not 100% how BigWigs is designed to function in that respect, but there isn't anything specific in LittleWigs that is forcing a specific report method. I'll try to poke around BigWigs and do some testing and let you know.

  • #25

What I mean is that with BigWigs the message output is /rw. With littleWigs it's /p. I'm not sure if this is because I'm not promoted or leader, but my warning output towards the group is in /p (haven't tested when I'm the party leader yet.. But in raids I'm the raidleader, so it works there).

This is functionality of BigWigs itself, which I do not maintain. That said what you are asking for is an option with in BigWigs I believe and this should be possible.

  • #23

Hey, First love the mod. Made some events a little easier (as if some weren't already). Anyway, could it be possible (maybe optional) to put the chat output in /rw instead of /p (yes /rw works in parties). Keep up the good work!

Nice mod, quite useful :) I´d love it if this mod would cover all 5man instances and all bosses with timed abilities - so keep the good work up ^^

@Zitrin I would love other languages, there is a bit of Korean and one boss for French if I recall, but more would be great.

To start you probably want to check the bottom of the description above, and use Transcriptor to log the boss fights. Then if you can open open up one of the .lua files from LittleWigs for the boss in question. The _triggers are the parts that have to absolute from the logs, the other parts you can probably translate more loosely.

Once it's been translated you can post it to the forums on the website and I'll get it included, or worst case senarios, you post the Transcriptor logs and I try to guess :)

This goes for all languages not just German.

a way to translate it to german etc. would be soo nice;)

Well I dont get any errors, I just don't have an high-end PC to allow myself to have an unlimited number of addons.

  • #17

@Death You need to go to your addons button in the character select screen and in the top right corner set it to 0 MB.

This will allow your addons to use whatever memory they need and you won't get any critical errors anymore. Also note that once 2.1 goes live, this will no longer necessary as it will become the default way addons manage their memory.

  • #18

@DeathMast0r No, don't delete the Extras or Plugins, just the ones named after instances.

  • #16

Basically my problem is that I'm running out of memory to play the game properly without deleting any of my current addons. I might be in the same boat as you are, as for now it's mostly 5 man instances I'm doing.

So just to confirm my thoughts on what you just said, I can delete every folder of BigWigs (including Extras, Plugins, whatever) apart from the main folder, to be able to run LittleWigs? Or is it even possible to just install BigWigs, but leave it for what it is and don't load it when you log in any of your characters?

In any way, thank you so much for the support.

  • #15

@DeathMast0r Well its really just using BigWigs as the framework, the only "extra" stuff you're getting from BigWigs is other zones. Those can easily be trimmed out if you don't want them, just delete all the Instance folders. Personally I don't do anything bigger than 5-mans(maybe Kara someday), so I delete all the Outlands, MC, SC, TheEye folders. If you notice in my screen shot you only see menu options for 5-man stuff.

And if you decide you want to run those, just grab the latest BigWigs and put them back in :)

Any chance this becomes a standalone add-on?
