Are You Lookin At Me?
This addon is a trivial enhancement for the game tooltip which, when you mouse over a player or NPC, shows you the name and level of their current target. I designed it just to know when someone is inspecting me without me having to target them back, though it has practical uses as well such as mousing over mobs during combat to ensure that they're on the tank and may be useful for similar purposes in PvP as well.

Thanks for the update! Over two years later, and I'm still using this "simple" but great addon!
Btw, you guys will notice that the current release is 3.3 compatible.
It was very useful in choosing targets in pvp.
Could you possibly update yours to include level of the mouseover's target as well as class? Another box like in "Simple Mouseover's Target" would be ideal.

Im seriously missing this addon, Everytime I hover on someone/something I check the tooltip and its all empty
I hope you can do me this little favour, the code is small so it shouldnt be too hard to fix( wtb LUA scripting )

Hehe, you're right that focus can work. Here's a simple macro which will inspect your mouseover target:
/focus [target=mouseover]
/script InspectUnit("focus")
Lurkers of the world unite! (But don't tell anyone)
Now I'll have to add a feature to Lookin' At Me which shows the mouseover's focus target as well just to escalate this arms race (or is it an eyes race? hmm.)
You got me all excited by the "/script InspectUnit("mouseover")" thing, but it goes away once I move my mouse off :'(
Rofl, now we just need some addon that allows you to inspect another player using the chat window without targetting him/her (like on right-click at party members) :>
Ohhh, you can do that by hovering over a player and then type:
/script InspectUnit("mouseover")
In your chat window :D
Cool, and um, yeah, that's why I wrote it -- for a useful thing like seeing who has aggro from a mob, not just to know if that guy who stopped next to me is sniffing my butt. Yeah, that's it :)
This actually IS useful...im a tankadin and when i tank for example Illhoof in kara, i want to see who got aggro from Kil'Rek, without deselecting my main target Illhoof, with this i can just mouseover kil'rek and keep attacking illhoof
also i was looking for this kind of addon for some time now, finally found it, cheers for it!
