About Loot Filter

Development on the 3.x branch is drawing to a close. tweak321 will only be fixing major "the sky is falling" bugs while a new major release is developed.

Some highlights for the 4.x branch

  • Ordering of filter processing
  • New config window
  • Support for custom filter types
  • Support for custom item value method (Auctioneer, Glypher, etc)

Are you tired of deleting all the crap items from your inventory that you get from looting corpses? Or are you tired of having to manually click the items you want from a corpse? Then this addon is for you. It lets you filter loot by quality, item name and item value, and helps you keep your inventory clean. It also features an option to easily sell or delete items in bulk.

    Another fix

    Thanks to rikikijr, your solution still works.

    Here's another fix, for a small bug that's just cosmetic. The notification for deleting poor quality items reads "Item quality is ff9d9d9dPoor," which is a bit weird. To change it to "Item quality is Poor," replace line 710 in Filter.lua as follows:

            return L['Item Quality is {1}'], t[filter.ItemQuality];

            return L['Item Quality is {1}'], strsub(t[filter.ItemQuality], 9);

    This should also work with all the other quality types.

    I just downloaded LF an hour ago and it seems to work fine, this is what you have to do:
    • You need to download the v4.x-beta-preview3  version under "Other Downloads" tab and fix the Main.lua file by replacing  line 73 :
    if LootSlotIsItem(i) then
    with  this :
    if GetLootSlotType(i) == LOOT_SLOT_ITEM then
    • Then copy the Lootfilter folder in the wow folder like any other addon.
    • In game you'll need to open Lootfilter's GUI ( /LF) and create a filter.
    • Then make sure that the config mode is OFF or the addon wont delete anything. (shift click on the minimap icon)
     However this great addon still needs an update.

    As of 9/16/2013 doing this still works if your farming and need the poor stuff deleted.

    Re: Loot Filter - Broken AND Abandoned

    This addon seems to have been abandoned. The creators' suggestions do not seem to help either. They haven't even responded to the last's person's reply that there is no main.lua file. Please, either update or remove the addon ffs.

    My LF is broken

    My Lootfilter is broken. Can someone help me fix it please?

    I do not see a main.lua file in the lootfilter directory. I am getting this error however:

    Error occured in: Global

    Message: ..\AddOns\LootFilter\lib\events.lua line 74:

    Lets try this again :)

    replace line 73 in the main.lua with:

            if GetLootSlotType(i) == LOOT_SLOT_ITEM then

    This will remove the error caused by out of date function.  I have not done any testing but LF appears to be working after this change.

    Works fine for me except for 1 problem, if i cage a BATTLE PET lootfilter has an absolute fit and you can see the errors counting up untill it ges to about 3k errors when the wow disable/ignore addon button comes up.The only wayto stop it is either to disable addons or exit the game. so DO NOT have a caged pet in your inventory when visiting an NPC or MAILBOX if anyone could make a fix for that LF would still be usuable.
