About LootLink

LootLink is an interface addon that stores every item you come in contact with into a link database that you can later browse. It's useful for linking items you don't have and searching for item stats.

This version has been updated to work with WoW 4.0 (Cataclysm)

This is based on Telo's LootLink and is fully compatible with existing databases.

I was wondering if you cuold add one option that I miss terribly from telo's. in any chat channel, you could type open braket, whatever item name, close bracket and it would automatically link it. it also had an auto-fill in option as you were typing names, it would be making suggestions.

WoW freezes for a few seconds on loading zones with this enabled, after 4.1 :/
  • #35
Yes i have the same Problem. If Lootlink is activated i have long Loading Times.
  • #36
Likewise. I just tested. Disable all addons and I can get 8s load times (sat in Ramkahen inn).

Enable all other addons than this Lootlink and I rise gradually to 12s.

Enable Lootlink and I'm on 35s load times.

Simply not acceptable. Is there some way to separate the data out into a load on demand addon ? Look at how Auctioneer does this with its scan data.

I'm trying the very latest version from Wow Interface now, and it doesn't *seem* to have the problem. After logging around all my alts to get their gear and bank items into it I have 3890 items and no slowdown.

    *cross fingers*

I'm guessing it's this from the 4.01.4 notes:

"Added some buffer time to processing of UNIT_INVENTORY_CHANGED events to improve performance; only the first one that occurs every 0.5 seconds will cause a self scan"

I'm expriencing the same as vodanh. Me too realized today it's Loot Link that causes these long load times when zoning in and out. After trying various other things (like turning settings to low, deleting Blizzard addons, deleting cache folder) I disabled all addons and the loading times were back to normal. Then I realized that I re-installed Loot Link not too long ago (hadn't been using it for a while) and indeed, when only disabling Loot Link, the loading times are back to normal.

I really hope something is done about this, as I love this addon very much!
    Thanks in advance.

Try to delete (or temporary move elsewhere) files
    World of Warcraft\Wtf\Account\%acc%name%\SavedVariables\LootLink.lua
    World of Warcraft\Wtf\Account\%acc%name%\SavedVariables\LootLink.bak
    This will purge database.

I'm kind of glad to know im not the only one experiencing this I hope thers a fix soon. This addon is practically a must if you have alts otherwise you'd always have to tab out to wowhead an item or find an object to check your inventory of other chars for items. I had to try Linkslist for a while when this was down or not updated but i think that author is no longer developing plz fix its our only hope :)

For Inventory/Bank/Mail across alts try BankItems. There are similar addons for worn items as well. No need for LootLink just for that feature.

Also Professions Vault to see their profs easily, if not in the same guild to check it that way.

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried it, but it has no effect. Still loading slow.

Today I realized that this addon was causing me extended load times when zoning in and out. Basically after my bar was full it would take form 40 sec + to load in. I isolated it to my beloved lootlink with these addons loaded:

    altaholic
    Omen3
    ORA3
    blacklist
    bloodqueen
    elephant
    postal
    sindyeasymode
    DBM
    linkwrangler
    gogomount
    Fubar 3.6 (money, clock)

The original Telo's LootLink is alive and well (and updated by its author for 4.0.1/Cataclysm)

I don't understand what's the purpose of this, unless you're just mirroring his work without permission.

I wonder if it's him because he abadoned his threads at forums.
    http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=5640664017&sid=1&pageNo=1
and this addon was only option for years.
