About LootList

LootList allows the player to build loot/gear lists. Each list can have up to three sets of metrics that can be assigned to each item, including optional integration with Pawn scales. Finally, LootList provides optional notifcation (message and/or sound) when it detects a loot/gear item. For more information see the FAQ that is at the end of readme.htm in the LootList download.

  • A note can be maintained for each item in a list.
  • Items can be 'checked off' as won/obsolete while viewing a list, preventing subsequent detection of the item. No more editing lists to remove items you won.
  • Item lists can now be imported using the WoW item id, or the URL formats for items on Allakhazam, the Armory, Thottbot and Wowhead.
  • Lists can now be exported using the item id format.
  • Any number of lists, within which you can order the loot/gear according to say importance.
  • A list can have up to three metrics, which can represent some measurement of the item. By default, the only metric is Manual.
  • A metric consists of a base value, a 'proc' value (for example a proc on a weapon), and a total value.
  • Optional integration with Pawn. A visible Pawn scale can be assigned to each metric. By default, LootList will use the calculated Pawn value for that metric's base value.
  • Override any metric's base value, including Pawn values.
  • Manual entry of a metric's proc value.
  • An active metric can be made to appear blank, along with color coding to represent a Pawn value (green), a Pawn value override (red), or Manual value (blue). A grey value indicates an error occured with the Pawn value calculation.
  • Options to provide message and/or sound notification when LootList detects a loot/gear item in a group loot roll window, a loot window, chat from the Master Looter, party/raid leader chat, and/or raid warning chat.
  • Export loot/gear lists in plain text, Blizzard link format text, HTML list or BBC list.

would be really nice if you could change the sound that plays on loot being dectected to play through addon sound rather than in game sounds. As I don't play with game sounds but would like to be able to hear the addon go off if it detects loot.

It could be a good idea to add some info on how to easily use this addon, maybe even make a video with the link here.
Couldn't find the info and at first I worked with weblinks (wowhead) but actually you can just:

    1) open Lootlist
    2) open the dungeon Journal
    3) Search for gear you want in the journal (use correct filters)
    4) Creat a list in lootlist, give it a name, save and click on "modify"
    5) shift left click on gear you want (in dungeon journal) and it will be auto added to the lootlist (keep both windows open)
    6) Put a note (left click on "?" next to the name in Lootlist) so you will remember where to get it.
    7) click save
    8) Click on options (lootlist) and check the box next to "play a sound on detection of listed loot"

How about you add to the FAQ what metrics are in this case and just how you should set them... I have absolutely no clue :S I added a bunch of items to a list... and that's it. I got no warning when the items dropped in tonights raid.

I just set all the item's metrics to 1.0, hope that does something useful.

can we make it possible to import notes with items? i am using Lootlist to store my lootbids for items i need, which works great given it notifies me whenever the item is linked in chat, and our loot council always link all the loot that drop. I have already prepared my bids in an excel spreadsheet and wish to xfer them over to lootlist once patch 5.4 is released, however i am talking about ~100 items i need to import, which i have listed in itemID but adding notes to each one will be a hassle :(

    Thanks for the bug report!

    Fixed in version 1.3.1.

ive been using lootlist for some time, but recently ive noticed that i havent been seeing the text nor hearing the gong because there is sooo much other stuff going on at the same time. thought i'd suggest an optional popup also.

usually popups are a no no for addons, but as we're talking about loot, out of combat, i think people would like the feature.

  • #13

Ya I hate popups like everybody else LOL.

I assume this is LFR where things are chaos^2, versus a regular/heroic raid where stuff is more measured? Maybe random heroic dungeons as well?

If so, maybe I can highlight the group loot frame that pops up (hence why I am asking if it is LFR or random heoric dungeons) - that way you know you need to check it out without having to look for the specific group loot frame and button?

Is there any chance you'll be adding the option of automatically sharing lists between all characters instead of having the addon retain individual lists per character? I farm recipes for all my professions, and some are BOE and some are BOP. I don't really like having to set up different lists on each character because there's going to be some overlap on all of them (all the BOE recipes) while each character will also have some BOP recipes that only they'd be able to attain. The same case could be made for transmogrification. Right now my only option is to export the list I made on my main character and import it on six others, and then, whenever I acquire something, change the list x7. That doesn't seem terribly efficient.

I will take a look into this. Not sure of timeframes sorry...

  • #11

No worries about the timeframe. I just thought I'd throw the idea out there. I wish I'd known the addon existed sooner.

Nice addon, tried it out this weekend. I am trying to find a replacement for Wishlist, this almost does the the job. The metrics thing does nothing for me, I just need something to keep track of what I want, tell me where I can get it, and or what I have to save (gold or points, yadda yadda)to get them. Wishlist did that, but the author seems to have the MIA bug.
I will use this till i find something better maybe.... thanks for your effort!

I just installed this addon so I don't know if it will work for me. But I've already developed a wish list:

    * Columns that where the item drops and sort by location/boss (e.g. "Festergut | Heroic Icecrown 25" (perhaps with a toggle to display metrics or source.
    * Ability to import from csv so users can create an upgrade list in Rawr and import the data into LL.
    * LBD interface so users can choose between the minimap button or a button in ButtonBar (or some other LBD addon)

    Just thought of another one:

    * Ability to sort by Metrics scores
