About LootMagic
LootMagic was designed to save you the hassle of cleaning your inventory when you're looting and it is full.
Current Version built: 10/13/10. version number will be 4.month.day.year
Features:
FROM README PACKAGED WITH ADDON:
Replaces Autoloot. Will work with Autoloot on or off, but the "inventory is full" goes away with it off.
Optimizes vendor trash sell values. Stacked items are counted as a full stack for calculation, debating whether
to count as half stack. Feedback welcome :)
Algorithm:
Will dump lowest-valued trash for ANY common or greater quality item except what you define as (also) trash.
Will dump lowest-valued trash for any trash to be looted that is higher in value than said item.
Checks for item-specific bags, no mistakes therein.
Autoloots when inventory not full and when inventory full. and thus:
Will make you win at life.
Removed debug prints.

As far as updating goes, I haven't played WoW in half a year, and kinda got bored with the game, but addon development would still interest me if I could be motivated to do so. I'd love to come back here and discover that people would actually donate for good addons, and would gladly build a custom addon if it were worth my time and effort. I do realize that money's tight right now, so I can't see many people wanting to throw more than $15/mth into WoW, but if you DO want to commission an addon to help you out, I'll be more than happy to consider it. I'm much more likely to reply via email (read: probably only will reply via email as I never get on this site anymore), so if you're interested drop me a line: tewinget@gmail.com
I can't see why it wouldn't still work, as I tried to write it as best I could to follow the newest lua calls blizz implemented.
If someone does come along and read this comment, I'd be more than happy to get back into WoW for addon development if there were a market for it. I love coding, and I must say that making this addon was fun, but to get back into it I'd have to get at least enough in paypal donations to support a subscription to the game, ya know?
Great job!!!
Just what I've been wanting. Does exactly what I needed.
thanks.
Thanks 4 it!!
Here are some suggestions:
1 - when a mage or warlock conjures an item and there is no room in the bag the addon needs to delete the lesser value trash item to make room for the conjured item. Currently you waste your spell and the conjured item doesn't enter the bag.
2 - Needs to not delete conjured items or items defined to keep. Create a keep list and compare prior to deleting. This would fix the conjured item issue - have those items as defaults when the list is created. It would also allow for other "fun stuff" to not be accidentally deleted.
3 - When the item you are going to loot is worth less than what is in inventory, then it stalls with the loot window open. Need to have it close the loot window and display a message that its not worth picking up that item.
4 - For adding or removing items from the trash list. It won't confirm that something has been added. Only that its a duplicate. Just put in a message like "Item added to trash list." or "Item removed from trash list."
1) An interesting idea, but it seems like an infrequent enough thing that it would be unnecessary. When grinding you loot a dozen or 2 times a minute, but you'll only conjure things once, maybe twice per login. Cool thought though.
b) A keep list is something I will see if there is a need for, but I feel like the category mechanic will work nicely. For example a mana gem is "consumables - consumables" whereas drinks/food are "consumables - food & drink" so unless you whitelist to destroy consumables you'll be fine. I might write that the whitelist is for "consider it trash to loot" only rather than "consider it trash for looting and destroying."
#) I left it that way on purpose, I feel that it gets the "inventory full" message across AND allows you to easily hand-delete items and loot, if you so choose.
Δ) Another intentional thing. The "confirmation" is the input box clearing. If others agree that it should pop a message I will change it, but I feel like it would get in the way.
five) Thanks again for reminding me of this, it has already been taken care of.
Great input, my friend, I thank you for it.
5 - The "bla" shows up every time you loot something unless its won by party roll. Kill the bla?
I'd do 4.year.month.day ... that way the numbers always increment. Otherwise you could go from version 4.12.12.10 to 4.1.2.11, very confusing. ;-)
