WoW Call of the Crusade 3.2 Heroic Loot Naming

The WoW 3.2 patch introduced non-heroic and heroic loot with the same name. To support existing DKP systems (EQDKP, NDKP and Null DKP), I have chosen to differentiate the two types of loot with a " (H)" suffix on the item name of heroic items. This means that the item databases of those systems should use the same " (H)" suffix so that Lootster can correctly find and manage DKP settings and overrides for those heroic items.

WoW Hour of Twilight 4.3 Raid Finder Loot Naming

The WoW 4.3 patch introduced a new loot tier, raid finder, with the same name as non-heroic and heroic loot. To support existing DKP systems (EQDKP, NDKP and Null DKP), I have chosen to differentiate the extra type of loot with an " (RF)" suffix on the item name of raid finder items. This means that the item databases of those systems should use the same " (RF)" suffix so that Lootster can correctly find and manage DKP settings and overrides for those raid finder items.

Bug Reporting

Please use a good error catcher like Bugsack (requires !BugGrabber), and provide the entire error text with as much information on how to recreate the problem. Report the problem via the CurseForge ticket system to ease tracking.

Slash Commands

  • /ls - toggle display of Lootster window
  • /ls resetui - reset the position of all Lootster windows

Language Support

Although basic roll capture will work in French, German and Spanish, the additional abilities (loot capture) will not. Spanish has a partial translation (thank you to PatoDaia). If you would like to contribute a translation for this addon, let me know via private message on this site. You will be given credit for the translation.

Installation

Unzip into <WoW Directory>\Interface\Addons.

User Interface

The user interface is used to perform all functions, and call be toggled (shown/hidden) through three methods:

  1. Using the command line via the /lootster or /ls command;
  2. Using the minimap button that can be used to toggle the user interface;
  3. Using the small Lootster frame that can be used to toggle the user interface.

To reset the various frame positions if they are dragged offscreen, use the command line /ls resetui to reset their positions.

The user interface can be moved anywhere on the screen via dragging the Lootster box. If the minimap button is not used, then the small frame will be shown, and visa versa.

    Hi Mackenz !!!

    It's been a long time. Sorry I never send you post cards, unless I'm reporting some errors, hehe. I guess that means this Lootster addon is "teh Awesome" since it's been so long. =-)

    Anyway, Ever since 4.3 I've not been able to deposit items into empty slots of my guild bank. And am seeing this error:

    [19:37:44] Interface\AddOns\Lootster\Lootster.lua:2153: bad argument #1 to 'match' (string expected, got nil)
    [C]: ?
    [C]: in function `match'
    Interface\AddOns\Lootster\Lootster.lua:2153: in function `HandleModifiedItemClick'

    I hope all is well for you!!

    Thanks for a superb Addon!!

    Thanks for the report Qbot! :)

    Hi I'm checking out new addons to distribute loot for our guild.
    we're currently using Morgdkp2 and eqdkp-plus website as I was reading I noticed that someone said that the dkp export wouldn't work on eqdkp-plus. I've tried it and I can say that it works perfectly (so you can add that to your functionality)

    but theres 1 problem. It doesn't seem to support the multi pool system of eqdkp-plus. Is there any chance you might implement that ?
  • #309
    @ MANTYS

    Gah! Just when I thought it was safe to go back into the DKP pool ;)

    I must admit this scares me a bit. There are two ways to handle it 1) by making the addon itself pool aware, or 2) making the export (and import?) plugin pool aware.

    #1 is much more complicated, as there are a shed load of data tables to coordinate, plus new UI handling. #2 is simpler (I need to take a look at how EQDKP-Plus does it), and would probably be a special plugin for EQDKP-Plus.

    HOWEVER, I see that some people are using pools to separate Tier tokens from ordinary loot - which would mean that both pools would need to present in the addon at the same time, and at roll time (and manual adjustment create/modify) you would change pools.

    In particular, what are you using the pools for - dungeon gear pools or dungeon tier/normal loot pools?
  • #310
    I'm using the pools for dungeons or ilvl ranges. like ICC pool is for ilvls 251-277 (so icc and ruby sanctum atm) but if I'm the only one asking for this you don't have to make this plugin. I noticed that it also doesn't support our zero-sum DKP system so its not really that useful for our guild.

    thanks for the reply though :)
  • #311
    @MANTYS

    Yes I haven't seen this request from anyone else.

    I am a bit confused about the zero-sum DKP bit though. It was originally designed for zero-sum DKP, with the other optional DKP additions (raid/attendance/etc) added later. You mean you are not using EQDKP-Plus/NDKP/Null DKP, or the import/export won't work?
  • #312
    hmmm maybe I should look into it a bit more to see how zero-sum dkp system works on it. We're using a combination with fixed dkp values for items. and the "needer" with the highest amount of dkp wins the item paying the fixed price.

    but yes I'm using eqdkp-plus. but eqdkp-plus has the option to use multiple dkp pools within 1 database. The export plugin for lootster exports the dkp from the members table, so it doesn't look at the DKP pools. therefore dkp for all pools are added up resulting in wrong amounts of dkp.
  • #313
    1) Yes that is how Lootster operates. Fixed item DKP cost (although it can be overridden) and highest DKP roller as the winner. The raid/attendance/kill/wipe bonuses are all optional. Lootster can also calculate an item DKP cost using an (Allakhazam) formula.

    2) As I mentioned earlier, it really depends on whether you look to use two pools simultaneously (tier token pool + general item pool) per single raid or not. If just a single pool per raid then that could be accomplished via the export plugin. Simultaneous pools in the addon is more complicated.
  • #305
    Slim chance on this, but is there a way to track or have it alert when someone rolls or has the winning roll on an item that is a lower iLevel? or tokens(trophies) that can be used for gear level with a lower iLevel than currently equipped...

    Sometimes in pugs people just need to need for vendor value or to DE later at their leisure. Mostly though it would be nice for groups to have an alert for this type of selfish behavior on a persons part or at least call them out for an explanation.
  • #306
    @craylord

    Hmm this would be a pretty out-of-scope change. The only thing I can suggest is to use something like ElitistGroup to scan peoples gear, and check it before/after a win. I guess you could only boot somebody after they won however.
  • #303
    You made great add-on! Makes master lootin pugs much easier. Is there anyway you can do a revision so that when your in the "need or greed" roll management it could say Main Spec(MS) or Off Spec(OS) instead of need or greed. On my server we generally roll main spec then off spec and i find some ppl have hard time understanding that need=MS and greed=OS.

    The other idea i have is a loot recorder. This would basically record who got what and if it was a main spec roll or off spec. This is for simple pug raid rules of like 1 MS and unlimited OS and the like. Thanxx, -Nova
  • #304
    @undeadnova

    1) I have refrained from putting the various main spec/off spec/shard/greed rolls into the non-DKP stuff. You can however use the DKP roll mode (see screenshot 10 above), and configure the usages you want to be available (screenshot 12 above). The default settings will not record DKP values (everything will be 0).

    2) You can get Lootster to automatically record loot drops - see screenshot 11 above.
  • #301
    Hi, I got your mod a few weeks back and it has made PUG'ing so much easier, thank you! I was wondering if there is a way to keep track of who uses their "Need" and "Greed". I ussually roll loot as 1 need 1 greed each. It would help if I can tack it in the mod, can this be done? Also another question. I just upgraded from ver. 3.1.2 so I havent't had yet to test 3.1.4 but I've had people Tie with their rolls before. I see a button that says tie roll but its grey. How do I use this feature. (What I normally do is press the Need/Greed button wait a few seconds for rolls, then click announce and clear and start next piece. If its tied, and I hit clear all rolls disappear. How can I do this please?) thanks for all the help, sorry for he huge post :)
  • #302
    @PirateBill

    It would be possible for me to add that, but I would not expect that too soon since I have to think about where to jam the UI to set the options and how to make that easy to set. Maybe in the Usage options I guess. I will look into it though.

    As for ties, you must hit the Announce button first before the Tie button will light up. The reason for this is historical - in the old 40-man raids people wanted to know who tied and with what roll :). It also sets up Lootster to accept rolls from only those that tied.
