Description
A DPS maximiser. Displays a sequence of icons from left to right, representing the order in which you should use your abilities so that maximum DPS may be achieved. You 'plug in' modules for your class/specialisation into a single AddOn, ensuring a consistent and familiar interface across the range of your characters.

This file is a module for the We Don't Wipe AddOn. Included with this download is the very simple procedure for adding this module to We Don't Wipe. No file editing for v3.01 of WDW!!!

General Rotation Notes
Sometimes, if you are unable to follow the rotation closely, certain abilities will just not be suggested in the queue. This is probably because preconditions to establish optimal use of the ability were not met.

(It is possible to exclude abilities from a rotation, and yet still display their CD/availability.)

Notes Specific to the Frost Mage Module
The module is very good at calculating when to use Alter Time.

The module ships with several rotations. One of the Alter Time rotations excludes the Water Elemental 'Freeze' ability and is obviously meant for bosses. The "5.3" rotation represents the optimal dps up to 5.4 and is for reference/comparison purposes only. The "Levelling" rotation basically excludes any of your big abilities with cool downs, such as Icy Veins and your Orb.

The "Single" rotation is your recommended starting point. And is generally applicable to all MoP dungeons/raids.

The "Tier16 2p" rotation is interesting. It aims to support the important 2-piece buff you get from using your Brain Freeze. For optimal use it 'banks' a Fingers of Frost for ready use with an Ice Lance. If you do notice an Ice Lance slowly sliding from right to left in the queue then that means your banked FoF is in danger of expiring. You will need to anticipate it reaching the front position as you'll have a fraction of a second to get your IL off! Testing with NON T16 gear shows that despite banking a FoF there is minimal difference between this rotation and 'Single'. This is useful if you want to use this rotation anyway as you gear up.

While on Tier 16 gear, the AT rotations are automatically built to support the Frozen Thoughts buff by always placing your BF-FFB ahead of your 2 x FoF-IL, the first of which benefits.

* Alter Time *
Alter Time is difficult to include in a rotation because there is a certain amount of subjectivity or raid synergy involved in any decision. The rotations included here do aim for an optimal use of AT. It is strongly suggested that Alter Time be included in your list of displayed CDs.

* Brilliance Buff *
Dalaran Brilliance / Arcane Brilliance bring a +10% Spell Power buff and +5% Crit buff to groups. This is better than a Shaman's Burning Wrath buff and does NOT overwrite the +10% Stamina of a Warlock's Dark Intent. If a BM Hunter is present then it shouldn't be choosing a pet to give the Still Water buff. Similar logic with respect to Crit buffs such as LotWT, LotP, FH, etc. Thus: Always cast AB/DB if it is not present (on yourself - to save checking everyone).

I encourage others to suggest their own ideas, perhaps even upload your own module if you have some LUA skills. I am happy to assist.

    hi

    I have been using this addon from the beginning its GREAT. but I have the same message now after

    update  players with no specialisation are not supported" when starting the game. 

    I've put the file in the according file but the error message keeps popping up...

    Hi, I get the message "Sorry, players with no specialisation are not supported" when starting the game. Any idea what could be the problem? Would really like to try this. I'm a lvl 90 frost mage. Is frost bomb required?

    Hello, how can activate Boss+AT module ? I want to see alter time in my main rotation and dont want to see water elemental's freeze ability in my main rotation.

    In game notes for the AddOn will explain things quite well. You can also edit a rotation in game too in so far as removing things or adding things to the queue. The brave could also edit the raw file and I provide a few pointers in the notes/template you obtain with the main file download.

    PoM is considered by pro players to be a total waste of a valuable GCD. If you follow the rotation closely you will have little need to get rid of casting time. Time would be better spent assessing the situation and flasking/potting for example.

    There is little joy for Frost Mages with our Tier 1 talents.

    Hi there

    First of all, love your addon. Can you tell me how I can boost the priority of living bomb though? For some reason it seems to delay using it when it falls off for some reason when I thought it was a top prio to have it up all the time?

    If you look at the way I list the rotation (above in the comments) you will see that your bomb is a very high priority. Of course your Brilliance (raid/party) wide is more important and your Elemental too but these will very rarely need to jump in above the bomb.

    Go to a target dummy and watch carefully. The bomb willl reliably trigger.

    One thing that might confuse you. If the bomb is NOT in the first position then that means that it is not ready to use. I am merely flagging that it will be required for a refresh soon. It will slide across to the left as the urgency of the refresh approaches.

    Hi. Awesome addon. by far my fav :) 

    Found a possible issue, I found the AT and BOSS + AT rotations dont ever suggest I use alter time, or icy veins so I use the Party module for Boss fights and levelling when out in the wild.  This all works a treat :D

    However when I glyph icy viens WDW doesnt seen to detect I have cast icy veins. Icy Viens stays in the main square. If I remove that glyph all good again.

    My reply (below)  got quite technical for Icy Veins (sorry). I want this AddOn to appeal to a broad spectrum of players  and in particular this module as the Frost Mage was my very first toon and is my old main.

    I would like to suggest a "middle ground" or "compromise" Alter Time rotation. One that is less than optimal but guarantees an AT within a short time of starting the fight.

    Any suggestions from anyone?

    Alter Time

    The use of AT is a quite personal and situational thing. The rotations with AT will only ever recommend AT if it is absolutely at the most optimal time to do so. I have tested over and over again and it does appear... eventually.

    The problem is if you are in a raid with a quite active leader, especially end game progression. YOU must decide, with the raid as a whole considered.

    The rotation I suggest does not just throw AT at you at the start of a fight. It waits patiently for the optimal time: Brain Freeze x 1, Fingers of Forst x 2, these buffs not due to expire during AT, bomb not needing a refresh during AT. If satisfied then I throw up: IV,AT and then (depending upon the expiry of BF and FoF) in some appropriate order: FFB x 1 and IL x 2.

    Why? So that when AT has finished in 6 seconds, you can repeat those same abilities = huge burst of damage.

    Try also macro-ing something with IV which also boosts your damage.

    Also, watch out for the haste cap.

    It is a total waste of AT to use it with anything less than the above conditions, although you may be overidden by your leader, or personal preference.

    Status: Working as intended.

    Icy Veins (Glyphed)

    Just now tested IV with the Glyph. Blizzard got me! They have yet again come up with a nonstandard way of doing things and once again it is the Mages which are the victims.

    Blizzard are hiding the cooldown for Icy Veins, when it is Glyphed, on another spell ID. (The spell IDs for the used spells are unchanged: IV,Ice Lance, FFB, FB, WB)

    We are so close to 5.4 now, I will upload the fix at the same time as the 5.4 uploads. The fix requires a dodgy hack to specifically test for this situation. You will need to download the main WDW AddOn/engine as well as this module anyway once 5.4 hits.

    Status: Bug fix rolled out with 5.4 updates
