About Magic Runes

Addon Support Statement

NEWS: I'm back in WoW. I'll try to update addons after catching up, especially if they are bugging out.

Addon Description
Magic Runes is a set of bars displaying rune cooldowns. It's meant as either a replacement or addition to the normal Blizzard rune display. For discussion please refer to the following forum thread:

Help localize Magic Runes

Changes in 1.0.89:

  • Now works on the 4.3 PTR. Note if you install libraries separately, you need to use the alpha version of LibBars-1.0 currently.

Changes in 1.0.80:

  • Core: Added color settings for the timer text and text label (separately).
  • Core: Added dot bars for Unholy Blight (off by default) and Scarlet Fever (on by default).
  • Core: Changed runic bar default color to match Blizzard runic power bar colors.
  • Core: Fix issue with max runic power not being updated correctly.

Changes in 1.0.75:

  • Fix for Blizzard rune bars reappearing when exiting a vehicle (not hiding correctly on first login).

Changes in 1.0.73:

  • Toc bump for 4.0.1

Changes in 1.0.71:

  • Config: Separated modules from the main configuration to make it clear that they are separate. Note that some settings are still inherited (while others are not). I plan to move the "core" Magic Runes addon to a module sometime in the near future.
  • RuneBars: Added option to hide icons.
  • RuneBars: Added option to arrange bar in a grid (1x6 to 6x1).
  • RuneBars: Added presets for various layouts.
  • Core: Actually added the Punished rune icons by Lichborne - the option to use them was there but it seems I forgot to actually add the icons.
  • RuneBars: Fix an issue where the rune bars would move from their intended position on load.
  • Fixed bug when changing rune icon style with the bars hidden.

u know how to disable right?
dann go on Magic Runes tab and click on it...on the general settings u'll see the sentence " Lock bar position " enable it and u can move it

I have only the rune icon view active. All bars are disabled and the readiness of the different runes is shown by their alpha. I have an issue with the background.

The area where the icons are located is a light grey rectangle on my screen. It's visible even when out of combat. How can I configure it to be transparent? I want only the icons visible when in combat.

    Thank you for any information.

Would love it to pop up/notify when Rime and Killing Machine are up in the bar.

Is there a possibility of an update soon? It's a minor bug, but irritating after a couple months. When magic runes is up, it conflicts with certain aspects of dominos. ie- cast bar, bags, char/tool/info bar, vehicle exit bars are all missing/or gone. I use / commands, but it'd be nice if the add ons would play together nicely. These issues only occur when MR is being used, can't find related conflicts with any other add on. Thanks!

Can I some how make it more transparent? I'd rather not shrink it, but as it is it just covers up too much of the screen(therefore the action as well).

If you have the rune costs of all spells in your mind, so in combat you only have to watch magic runes and your character. But one information is missing, the global cooldown of the abilities.

Is it possibly to create an extra bar for the global cooldown?

Edit: SethKeta said the same, but i will repeat because it will be a very useful feature :)

Awesome addon! Love it! Please keep it updated with the patches or I'll be sad panda. :p
  • #274
I would loooove the option to have the bars be horizontal but also stack side by side, similar to oUF_RuneBar without having to use oUF.
  • #278
    Same thing for me.
  • #272
Is there anyway you could potentially add another bar for the Global Cooldown? A similar addon to this (at least in looks) is Shock and Awe for shamans, and it shows the GCD, which has been incredibly helpful in streamlining rotations.

Hi, Great Addon! But I have one question. Is there any way to move the bars to another postion then the current one?

This error is in LibButtonFacade and it means I just need to repackage Magic Runes. Updated version will be available shortly.

Any chance of a 3.3 update? This is indeed having a conflict with dominos where character bars/bag bars and vehicle/pet bars wont show. As much as i prefer magic runes unfortunatly dominos is more important to me. Awesome addon
