About MakeRoom

Description

MakeRoom is invoked when your inventory is full, and pops up a window with the least valuable grey items in it. The grey items are sorted from least valuable to most valuable. You can destroy the items from the MakeRoom window, by shift-clicking or dragging, to create space for more valuable loot items.

There is a configuration tab on the Blizzard Interface Addons menu to set the item quality that should be considered for discards: poor (gray items), common (white items), and uncommon (green items). This will default to poor quality, but can be set to higher quality if desired.

Dependencies

If you have "Informant" loaded as part of Auctioneer, MakeRoom will use that to get the item prices. If not, MakeRoom uses ItemPrice for vendor prices.

Localization

MakeRoom currently has localizations for enUS, esES, esMX, and deDE. If you can provide translations for the messages for any of the other locales, or want to correct the strings for the existing locales, that would be most appreciated.     Hello!

    Would very much appreciate an update on this addon. It works great.

    I would also like to make a suggestion that there is an option to also include specific group of items that might be worth less than Grey items. i.e. low level foods/drinks - standard crafting materials like coal, dye, threads etc. (then based on their purchaseprice perhaps, rather than sell price) - or just a general option for dropping the cheapest pile of anything in the bag.

    Any chance of adding command line options? It'd be nice to be able to (no matter the default settings) run a command that destroys all grey items without a confirmation window.

    Is there a reason that this doesn't list food? I'm always picking up things like Darnasian Bleu and it should be dumped way before something I can sell for good money...

    can u tell it to destroy lowest "SOULBOUND" items from list in bags... include souldbound greens/blues to sell if they are cheaper but only soulbound ones?

    when I tell this addon it can destroy white items it ONLY wants to destroy white items. How do I tell it "White or less"?

    This addon is bad lol. It vendored my Fel Iron Rod. Then I got it bac k, then a couple days later it vendored it again. It also vendored my epic.. It vendors more than one page, I even tried changing the settings and everything..

    Hi Gunboat! Great addon! There's one thing that I noticed lately: there's a bag icon in the lower right of my screen. The strata of the window / frame is too low to click on. I tried doing a script that would print back to me the window/frame that I'm hovering over, but it reports nil when I hover over this bag. The bag appeared just after I started using your addon, so I *am* assuming that it's yours, but I haven't verified that yet.

    Do you have any clue as to this?

    I've tried using MoveAnything! to check if I can identify and hide the frame, but nothing I use seems to be able to notice it. (And I realize that I call it a button -- that's just what it looks like -- but I only can click through it.) It's a button of main backpack, just like the icon you use for MakeRoom, hence why I assume that it's related to your addon (other than the timing, of course).

    Is it a little button that just says "MakeRoom"? It might be the LibDataBroker launcher, if you have a framework that displays LibDataBroker launchers. I'm not sure which addon that you're using to display them, so I can't really tell you how to configure it.

    If it's a different widget, then could you describe it for me?

    To the uninitiated, the "Destroy All" button may lead the user to believe that all items in inventory would be destroyed (I'm parroting a comment from my guild). Recommend rewording it to say "Destroy These" and possibly increasing the number of items from four to 10 or so, with an expanded window, scaled 0.75 or so from current size.

    Very useful addon, I use it quite a bit on my strath clears with my DK.

    Hello

    You should definitelly add option to click on the item in make room to remove it or deselect it then change Destroy All to Destroy Selected.


    I don't want to destroy all greenies....

    The item tooltip should say that you can shift-click an item to delete it from the window. If that isn't clear, I'll figure out a way to make it more clear.

    Nice addon!

    I think what he means is (and if not then is what I would like) that by doing nothing and clicking destroy all button, all in window are destroyed, but if you could click on items that you don't want destroyed in the window then the destroy all button would only destroy the ones wanted.

    Also, could you allow option for warlock shards, and option for food/water to show as well as these are the next things I would destroy if I needed more room for better items.

    An option to include anything of the selected quality and below (example, select white, and both white and grey items will come up sorted by price) would be wonderful.

    That's the only thing keeping me from really using this mod, having to check to see if I have food or drink or other stuff that I should break before some of the higher return vendor trash. Keep up the great work!

    Love the addon, could you by chance add in a few options for those long old world instance farms. For example, if my bags are overly full, some greens may be worth less than the gray items, in particular crapy soulbound greens.
    Perhaps you could enhance it:
    Add the option to set loot level threshold inclusion for the destroy list(gray,green,blue), and include an option to show or not show soulbound items in the destroy list.
