About Mapster

Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.

Features

  • Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
  • Coordinates
  • Fog of War removal
  • Enhancement of the raid/party group icons
  • Access to the Instance Maps from anywhere!

You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot. All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.

When I try to clear a focus I get the "Function may only be used by Blizzard UI" warning. When clicking to disable the offending addon it's always Mapster that gets axed.

  • #1112

Any chance this will be updated soon?

I think WoWAce has a alpha or beta version that is newer but would prefer a more stable release for this awesome mod and here on Curse so I can keep it updated with the Curse client.

This mod still works well it is just finicky and sometimes seems to have a mind of it 's own.

I get a lot of errors when using Blizzard UI functions. Something roughly translated like "Mapster has been blocked, function may only be used by Blizzard UI".

This sometimes happens when doing the following things:
    - Setting raid ground markers
    - Trying to queue for a battleground

This does not happen all the time, just sometimes.
In some cases it helps to open the map, then zoom out by right mouse button.

This issue exists for a long time now and is really annoying. I just checked for a new version, but my version is up to date. Any ideas on this?

Helloooooo? Any update on this?  :)

  • #1110

Fog of War not beig removed from lots of areas.. help please?

  • #1108

Was doing a solo scenario today and needed to put down a raid marker... when I tried, got a message saying Mapster needed to be disabled. Expected behavior? Could you maybe look into it please?

Same thing happened in a Flex raid...

Turned out this was entirely my fault :)

I''d enabled debug mode under the fog clear option in Mapster...

disabling it again resolved the issue.

Thanks to the support guys for responding to my problem so quickly :)

Is the any way og making the mini map remember position ?

I have big map in the middle of the screen and the minimap i have to the left, but every time i have to manually put the minimap where i want it ?

  • #1104

I must unfortuneatly say that this is THE one addon giving me the most intere3fernce with Blizzard's UI and functions

  • #1103

    heya,

First - this is one of my favourite addons, I love the way I can resize and move the map so I can travel whilst looking at the map. That and the fog of war and coords make my game so much more enjoyable...

And now the not so good :p Recenlty, for the last couple of days, every time I enter a new zone for the first time (area, inn, subzones etc) Mapster spams my chat window with messages like "Mapster subzone Ruinsofdojan in zone krasarang" - "Mapster subzone anglersoutpost in zone krasarang". In general I get about 4 or 5 of these messages everytime I enter a new subzone or zone so it's getting pretty annoying.

Is there anyway to hide these?

    Thanks, in advamce,

    Catweasel

Wow, that is some fancy coding. Just when I think I have a handle on LUA something like this puts me back in my place. Well done sir!

  • #1100

Thank you, thank you!! This fixed the problem of the error message, and so quickly too.
