About Mapster

Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.

  • Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
  • Coordinates
  • Fog of War removal
  • Enhancement of the raid/party group icons
  • Access to the Instance Maps from anywhere!

You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot. All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.

If you're looking for a replacement to Cartographer, i also recommend the following addons:

- Added Tanaan Jungle to FogClear

- Fixed flickering when the mouse is over the map while moving

- Introduced new options to control the fade-on-move transparency
- Fixed the map not obeying the configured transparency
- Fixed an issue which caused other UI panels to forcefully hide the map when opened and vice versa

there is a small problem with handynotes. when i have mapster on none of my handy notes work but as soon as i turn it off handynotes works fine. can you please have a look at this to see why this maybe happening thanks

  • #926

Hey there, great mod... I just have one concern. If I have my map zoomed out to another zone and change areas it will zoom back to my current zone. Is there any way to change this? I'd like to be able to check other areas of the map while say auto flying or whatever without bouncing back to my current zone. Thanks!

    Re: Mapster (co-ordinates)

Frankly, one of my favorite features is a smallish display of one's current coordinates (numbers in a rounded rectangle "box"). EXTREMELY handy when I am trying to find some spot. I'm not sure exactly when, but for some reason I am NOT seeing it at all. I HAD found an ideal spot, right above my name plate in the upper left hand corner. I tried toggling it on and off, but it seems to not be there (or could it have somehow been positioned somewhere off screen?).

How can I fix this? Looked through the first page of comments here and see nobody else mentioning it... so I'd really like to know how to fix this issue!

How would I get my map to look like the second screenshot? I seem to be too stupid to figure out how to remove the borders from my world map.

  • #925

Would like to know the's not letting me select hide borders, also is there a way to move them minimap or something, it seems to be clamped..

Long overdue reply as I missed this comment.

This error and a bunch of other "impossible" errors are due to Blizzard breaking the taintLog functionality.

    /console taintLog 0 and they'll go away...

Confirmed, same error.  I'm using the latest version of Mapster, downloaded today (9/22).

In fact, I'm noticing quite a number of errors.  Here's another:

Message: Interface\FrameXML\WorldMapFrame.lua:586: attempt to call method 'SetWidth' (a nil value)
    Time: 09/22/12 13:41:29

Do you have SET taintLog "1" or SET taintLog "2" in WTF/Config.WTF ? Because it can be related to , try setting it to "0"
