About Mapster

Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.

Features

  • Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
  • Coordinates
  • Fog of War removal
  • Enhancement of the raid/party group icons
  • Access to the Instance Maps from anywhere!

You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot. All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.

    It does. New refreshing update would be welcome tho - to be able to choose new dungeons/raids maps, while not being there.

    I've got the message NUM_WORLDMAP_DETAIL_TILES can't find in the mapster.lua.

    Ok first thing to do is to use a text editor like notepad on Win or TextEdit on Mac

    Open mapster.lua

    Then do a find/replace put this in the find field NUM_WORLDMAP_DETAIL_TILES

    put this in the replace
    GetNumberOfDetailTiles()

    and then tell notepad/textedit to replace all

    save file and mapster is ready to go..... well at least mine is working right, your mileage may vary

    I have followed these instructions and mapster works fine once more for me.

    For those that also want to add the firelands map without actually being in the firelands can add the following code to your InstanceMaps.lua file:

    ["Firelands"] = 800,

    add it under raids and under cataclysm. You can open the file in notepad/wordpad. If you use Dreamweaver or another editor that gives you the line numbers, you can add it any where between lines 95-98.

    And to actually fix the addon, just do what geffry said.

    *Edit* Also, you can add the Molten Front area if you really want to. To do this, just do as you would with the above code but its:

    ["Molten Front"] = 795,

    Add it to whatever section you want (or create a new section). Hard to tell you where to put it since it's not technically a 'raid' or 'instance' but whatever.

    Thanks soooo much for this! I was getting increasingly ticked off with the constant spamming of "cannot find map 795" in my chat log.

    when for 4.2?
  • #822
    Just go in the addon folder then in the mapster folder , open Mapster.toc with notepad and set "Interface: 40200" this will make mapster work again :)
