About Master Plan

Master Plan modifies the Garrison Missions UI, making it easier to figure out what you want to do. It can both suggest and complete parties to maximize mission rewards; see below for details.

Bug reports and feature suggestions are welcome, preferably using the ticket tracker.

Available Missions tab

  • A more compact layout for the available missions list fits more missions on screen, and shows you the mission's threats, as well as some suggested groups and their expected results, allowing you to quickly select the party for the mission.
    • The suggested group buttons summarise total expected rewards for the group, factoring in trait bonuses, low-level follower efficiency, XP caps, and success chance.
  • Missions can be sorted by a number of parameters, including success chance, follower XP gain, mission expiration time, duration, or level.
  • The number of idle, idle (level 100 epic), working, and away-on-missions followers is displayed next to the garrison resources on this tab.

Mission detail page

  • The follower list is sorted to move followers with counters the mission's threats to the top, and double-clicking a follower's portrait allows you to add/remove that follower from the party. Followers away on missions display they remaining mission time directly in the list.
  • Several suggested groups can be viewed and quickly selected by hovering over the LFG eye in the mission header. If you've already selected some followers, suggestions will also include ways to complete your party.
  • Closing the mission page using the minimize button, or navigating away from the tab will save the current party as a tentative party.
    • If you return to the mission before closing the Garrison UI, the tentative party will be there waiting.
    • In other missions, the tentative party members appear with a "In Tentative Party" status. You can still add them to another mission by right-clicking them and selecting "Add to party", though doing this dissolves the tentative party they were in.

Missions of interest tab

  • A list of certain high-reward missions, showing you the party that would achieve greatest success chance on that mission, ignoring follower item levels and levels.
  • Followers that are under-geared or under-levelled for the missions are displayed in red.
  • You can click a follower icon to jump directly to that follower's details page, where you can upgrade their gear.
  • Switching to the Missions of interest tab while holding ALT allows suggested groups to include inactive followers.

Active Missions tab

  • The Active Missions tab displays a list of all missions your followers are currently on, showing the followers on each mission, success probabilities, and the bonus rewards.
  • When you click the "Complete All" button, Master Plan can expedite mission completion, allowing you to complete all missions in one click.
    • You can hold ALT while clicking "Complete Missions" to complete all missions using the default UI, or disable the expedited mission completion entirely.
    • Or you can click individual missions to complete them using the default UI.
  • For missions completed using Master Plan's expedited completion, a summary of follower XP, levels, and loot gained (including salvage) will be displayed at the end of the mission report.
    • You can hold ALT while clicking "Done" on this dialog to close it without removing completed missions from the Active Missions list.

Followers tab

  • A summary of all primary threats and follower traits is shown at the top of the Followers tab of the garrison Missions and Report windows.
    • You can shift-click an icon to add it to the current search; and alt-click a threat icon to search for followers that could have abilities to counter that threat.
  • You can upgrade your followers' gear by clicking on the Weapon/Armor slots and selecting the desired upgrade item, without having to open your bags.
  • Followers that are currently away on mission display the remaining mission time in their status.
  • Followers can be ignored via their right-click menu. Ignored followers will not be sent on missions by Master Plan, and are sorted with, and appear similar to Working followers in follower lists.
Version 0.25.1
  • Follower counter/trait tooltips in the follower summary now also display icons of abilities countered by each follower.
  • Follower search now accepts multiple queries separated by semicolons, searching for e.g. "Wild Aggression;Deadly Minions" will show all followers who can counter both threats. You can shift-click a threat/trait icon in the follower summary to add it to the current search.
  • Follower search can now be used to search for potential abilities available to the class, by prefixing a mission mechanic with a plus sign; searching searching for e.g. "+Wild Aggression" will match all followers who have a Wild Aggression counter, or could randomly (re-)roll a Wild Aggression counter. You can alt-click a threat icon in the follower summary to search for followers with potential to counter that threat.
  • Followers, items, and currency rewards can now be linked from the mission completion report.
  • When hovering over a party member on the mission details page, the XP to level is now highlighted green if the follower will gain a level/quality from completing the mission, and blue if the follower will gain a level/quality from successfully completing the mission.
  • Updated Blackrock Foundary mission threats; added Seal of Tempered missions to Missions of Interest tab.
  • [.1] Fixed an error that occurred when using the Architect Table to assign followers to buildings.

(Tickets #285, #278.)

Version 0.24.1
  • When viewing non-epic follower details, an "Epic Ability" placeholder is shown, displaying counters that follower may acquire upon reaching epic quality. For all followers, the full list of possible counters can be viewed by hovering over the class icon on the follower details page.
  • Clicking a follower portrait on the Missions of Interest tab now scrolls the follower list to that follower.
  • On the Missions of Interest tab, a Danger Zones threat countered by a follower with the Dancer trait will be shown with a orange/yellow, rather than red, border. The trait does not provide a full counter.
  • Added The Pits to the Missions of Interest list.
  • Fixed an issue causing the Scavenger trait on the last follower in a mission of interest party to not be counted correctly.
  • [.1] Fixed an error that occurred when a Danger Zones threat was not countered by a mission of interest suggested party lacking a Dancer.

(Tickets #226, #239, #250, #252.)

Version 0.23.1

Restart World of Warcraft after updating from version 0.22.1 or below.

  • Missions of Interest tab now includes projected success percentage for the suggested party. The projection takes traits into account, and assumes that all followers are at the mission's (item) level -- it can be exceeded slightly if your followers are over-geared for the mission.
  • Tooltips for racial affinity traits now also include a list of followers of the appropriate race.
  • [.1] Added Blackrock Foundry missions to the Missions of Interest tab. The titles and rewards of these missions will appear unknown until patch 6.1.0 is live.
  • Fixed an issue causing the 4th and 5th mission threats to overlay each in the available missions list.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented trait/counter tooltips from being hidden correctly when scrolling through the followers list on the mission details page.
  • [.1] Fixed an error message that appeared when mousing over a top-level threat/trait summary button for which you have no relevant followers.
  • [.1] Magister Serena/Magister Krelas are now correctly recognised as Human/Blood Elf (activating Humanist/Elvenkind).

(Tickets #192, #230, #229.)

Version 0.22.1
  • Missions of Interest tab updates:
    • Added Elemental Rune missions.
    • Added a list of followers not included in any suggested parties.
    • Hovering over threat icons will now also display the threat description.
    • Garrison Resource amounts shown now reflect the number of Scavenger followers in the suggested party.
    • Follower tooltips will now include ability descriptions and counters; counters are highlighed in green if they're actively used by the party, yellow if they counter an already-countered threat, and grey if they're unnecessary.
    • Holding ALT while clicking the tab button will include inactive followers in its suggested parties; inactive followers are tinted blue.
    • [.1] Ignored followers are no longer included in suggested groups; working followers are avoided if all other aspects can be kept equal.
  • Mission rewards can now be linked by shift-clicking them on the mission details page.
  • Corrected the experience multiplier of the Hearthstone Pro trait.
  • [.1] Abrogator Stone missions should now be removed from the interesting missions list once the relevant quest is complete.
  • Fixed an issue preventing last-completion times from being displayed for non-Normal Highmaul missions.
  • Fixed an issue preventing switching from the mission details page to the missions of interest tab.
  • Fixed an issue causing follower levels to be ignored for level 100 missions in the missions of interest tab.
  • Fixed an issue occuring when displaying projected XP rewards for followers with exactly 0 XP towards the next level.
  • [.1] Fixed an issue causing the "Last completed:" line to sometimes persist on the unused followers listing.

(Tickets #208, #207, #198, #196, #194 , #190 , #186.)

Version 0.21
  • New Missions of interest tab shows how many threats you can counter on certain high-reward missions, as well as when those missions were last completed.
  • Tweaked how mission rewards are displayed on suggested group buttons in the available missions list; success chance is now also included in the group tooltip.
  • When sorting by mission expiration time, missions that you currently lack the followers or resources to start are no longer automatically sorted to the bottom of the list.
  • When sorting missions by follower experience per hour, XP/h is displayed instead of raw XP for the suggested groups.
  • Earliest mission completion time is now considered instead of shortest mission duration when ranking similar group compositions.
  • Improved secondary group suggestions for missions primarily awarding follower XP.
  • Group suggestions including followers currently away on missions are not shown unless they compare favourably to the currently-available groups.
  • Fixed an issue causing some group suggestions to include working followers.
  • Fixed an issue causing the mission listings to become non-interactable when DroodFocus was enabled.
  • Added a workaround for a tooltip issue that occurred when scrolling the follower list using the mouse wheel while hovering over a threat counter button.

(Tickets #178, #174, #169, #125.)

Version 0.20.2
  • Revised layout of the Available Missions list; suggested groups are now displayed on the mission entries.
  • Available Missions can now be sorted by follower experience / hour.
  • Groups achieving shorter mission duration are now preferred even for missions with no expected XP gain.
  • Hold ALT when clicking Done to dismiss the completed Garrison Mission Report without removing the completed missions from the Active Missions list.
  • Mission details page now shows the number of hours remaining until estimated mission expiration instead of the "Pending: X/Y" numbers.
  • When starting a mission, only followers in that mission's party are removed from the roaming party.
  • [.2] For suggested groups that require followers who have more than an hour remaining of mission time, hours and minutes are now displayed instead of rounding up to the nearest hour.
  • Fixed an issue causing the mission completion/failure sounds not to play when missions are completed in quick succession.
  • Fixed an issue causing duplicate threats countered by a single follower would not be colored correctly.
  • Fixed an issue causing an incorrect count of idle followers to be displayed when returning from a mission details page.
  • Fixed an error message that could appear when saved variables contained incomplete information about last-seen missions.
  • Fixed an issue causing some threat counter checkmarks to persist incorrectly when switching between missions.
  • Fixed an issue causing the colored item level text to be prepended to mission item reward links.
  • Fixed an issue where missions could be considered started while missing followers; an error will now be displayed instead.
  • [.1] Fixed an issue causing suggested groups not to be updated after saving a tentative party.
  • [.2] Fixed an error that occurred when sorting by mitigating threats, causing the available missions list not to update correctly.
  • [.2] Fixed an issue where suggested groups would not be assigned correctly if a party was already assigned to the mission.

(Tickets #162, #136, #134, #133, #128, #112, #88, #72.)

  • #1376

Yeah i had tha same prob too with 25.1 if i disable the addon then they showed up my list of followers i could asign.

  • #1371

Did you update to the latest version .25.1? It fixed the problem for my issue.

  • #1366

I updated ElvUI and the mini map button disappeared. any ideas?

  • #1370

Yeah, for some reason ElvUI decided to hide it by default.  /ec > General > Minimap > Garrison and uncheck "Hide"

  • #1365

Tried finding the info in the comments and change log and came up empty.

On the Missions of Interests tab, at the very bottom is a section where it shows "redundant followers".  What is the critia for this?  For example, it shows my follower Defender Illona as redundant.  I'm not sure why, her traits are Powerful Spell and Wild Aggression and when I attempt to find another follower with that specific combo, (search wild aggression; powerful spell) she is the only one with that combination.

  • #1369

Those followers can be deactivated without adversely affecting the missions of interest groups shown on that tab.

I may have found a bug with the missions of Interest:

It does not factor in stacking of slayer or environment traits.   For example, if you have two followers with orcslayer, when it computes those teams, it only counts it once instead of twice, giving lower percentage totals.

Same for Dancer - when I do a Debuff and Dancer on a mission, I get 96%, then when I swap the Debuff for a Debuff that also has Dancer, it goes to 100%.  I've everified it's not an item level success boost either, as the Debuff/Dancer follower  actually has lower item level than the pute Debuff follower.  As such, you can fully counter a Danger Zone with 2 followers with Dancer, even if the UI doesn't seem to display it properly.

  • #1368

You're right; it tries to treat the environment as if it was a mission threat, while it's actually just an activation condition for some trait buffs. I'll fix this in the next version.

Dancer... is a pain; because it's a partial counter, it causes all sorts of problems when counting what you actually counter. :(

  • #1362

One suggestion:  When choosing a follower on the "available missions" tab, to search for missions using that follower, would it be possible to prioritize/sort the missions based on the rewards/experience for that follower?  I have a lot of level 100 followers, and when I choose one of my followers that is closer to 90, it prioritizes total mission XP, and puts the low-level follower on missions that are red to them, giving them miniscule experience.

    Thank You!

I do not write many reviews, but I had to stop and write one here. Yes, I did have the same problem as everyone else, but you fixed it super fast. This has been one of my favorite add ons for the followers. I just wanted to stop in and say thank you for all of your hundred lines of code and for taking the time to make our gaming lives better.

A man who stands on toliet......is high on pot....
