Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.

Features:

  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.
  • Assign a sound file to play for events/triggers.
  • Dynamically create new scroll areas and assign any event/trigger to them.
  • Customize the position, size, animation style, enabled state, font style, font size, font outline, and opacity for each of the scroll areas.
  • Customize each individual event's color, font style, font size, font outline, opacity, output message, enabled state, and scroll area.
  • Set "Master Font" settings that will be inherited by all of the scroll areas and the events in them unless they are overridden at the scroll area or event level.
  • Merge AoE data into one event with cumulative damage/healing done with number of normal and crits specified.
  • Show overhealing amounts against yourself or party/raid members.
  • Color unit names according to their class.
  • Color damage amounts according to damage type.
  • Show partial effects (resists, absorbs, vulnerabilities, etc) colored according to type.
  • Filter output information with a full suite of spam controls.
  • Load on demand options.
  • For mod developers:
    • Output your own scrolling messages with the MikSBT.DisplayMessage function instead of having to create your own frame and animation code. You can also use your own font by first registering it with MSBT via the MikSBT.RegisterFont function.

    Uncheck everything under Events->Incoming Player.  There is a "Toggle All" button near the top of the dialog to make that easier.

    General options -> Master Fonts is the easiest way.  Triggers are individually overridden to 26, so you have to modify those individually via the Triggers->Font Settings dialog for each trigger if you want to change those.

    also, how is the display time of each scrolling element defined.  right now, the default scroll areas display text for about 3 seconds; i would like this to be closer to 2 seconds.

    There is an animation speed slider on the General tab of the options.  Also you can modify the animation speed per scroll area if you want via the Scroll Areas->Configure Scroll Areas dialog.

    Would love to see the spam filter adjustable scroll bars have some more realistic upper limits (50-100k?) so I don't need to edit this mod every time a new version is released. 10k isn't very much in MoP.

    hi, i just downloaded your mod and i had the question of how i DO actually turn on being able to see what each other person in a group is doing for damage, i ask this because i am running a multibox team and i would love to be able to see what each of my other characters are actually doing. i have seen that done in a youtube video but i do not know how to get that to work, if you could assist me in how that happens or how to make it display in that form that would be very much appriciated. thank you.

    Hello, i'm hoping someone here can help me or if that isn't possible that the author of this great addon think to add it in sometime soon, but on with my question:

    Can you have short hand number to a decimal place? (E.G. 15.1k)

    The reason i ask his is because i'm not bothered about the aprox of about 50 damage or healing, but when anything over .5k so an example would be you herbed something and got 15,527 but MSBT would show 12k, which is a little inaccarate to my liking, so if anyone knows how to answer this i will be thankful, if there is no way to do this, and the author adds a method to add decimal places i be very appreciative for all the effort he has to do put in to add this as an option

    There is not a place in the GUI interface options, but if you open MSBTOptions.lua and find "shortenNumberPrecision = 0", you can change that to 1 to achieve what you want.

    i have a problem with msbt when i enable it my focus target's cast bar disappears and comes under my cast bar in some cases at pvp this casuses problem i like the addon and want to keep it how to prevent this situation with resetting focus target cast bar to default by not disabling the addon.

    I am a Shaman and I only want to see an alert when a totem expires, but not "about to expire".
