MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.

    I don't believe there are any combat log events associated with those actions, so you wouldn't be able to create triggers for them.


    Yes. It's a simply aura application. Use the example "Focus" trigger in the readme.html included with the mod as a template, but change the skill name to "The Art of War". It's case sensitive so make sure it matches.

    I´m kinda new to this, but I was curious if I can get the addon to notify me when I can use my "The art of war" on my pala. When my DS, CS or judge crit it will tell me that instant flash of light is available. Thx again for a nice addon

    Game Damage (I'll assume you mean target damage based on your comments). Of course you lose a lot of customization by doing that, but it's an option. You can also disable all the outgoing events in MSBT if you don't want to show them as well.

    There is a trigger guide in the included readme.html that explains it in depth, but I believe a trinket shows up as a "Cast Success" event.

    So it should be:

    Cast Success
    Source Unit Reaction - Is Equal To - Hostile
    Skill Name - Is Equal To - PvP Trinket

    You can use the "Key Skill Usage" entries in the example triggers of the included readme as a template.


    The fonts have changed over to use shared media, so that's why you had to reset them. That said, I have not noticed the fonts randomly changing. Perhaps you have the font for some of the event overidden to something different and/or didn't also change the crit font?

    Unless you've changed buff fades to the incoming scroll area, they shouldn't be going there at any time. Buff fades default to the notification area.

    If you can nail down some specific circumstances that cause issues, I'll certainly look into them.


    Buff/Debuff/Item Gains/Fades) events if you don't want to see that information as opposed to trying to individually suppress them all.

    As far as suppressions, they are case sensitive, so if you entered them all lowercase as you have here, that'd be why they aren't being suppressed.

    I think what you really want though based on your comments is to disable to the events mentioned above.

    Yeah i got told about your add on today,
    its very helpful.

    But one quick question if you done mind trying to answer.

    My situation:
    I have just been using msbt to see when my cooldowns are up, and when one of my procs happen. Otherwise i've kept a lot of it as the standard blizz one (while i get used to it).
    Its awesome that it says when a CD is up,
    and its even better to see when a proc is ready for use (mage, missile barrage. Hard to see when its up without your add on).
    But i have been getting spammed hard by other peoples buffs.

    unleashed rage
    leader of the pack
    battle shout
    strangth of earth
    windfury totem

    etc etc.

    I put all of these in the spam control, then placed them in spam suppression. But the buffs are what other people give me, not my own.
    And they still spammed me.

    Does it stop other people spamming?
    Something i can do better?
    Or do you think i have just typed them incorrectly or some such?

    Bit of an odd one, would love any help.

    Firstly excellent addon, thanks so much.

    A couple of things since 3.0 though.

    Essentially MSBT doesn't seem to be remembering changes to my personal setup (or just ignoring them?)

    My config was retained from pre-3.0 although I found I had to reset fonts, which I did, as before, via the master font option. I then found that, seemingly randomly, different fonts would appear while playing. Going back into setup the config hadn't changed? [I tried setting the fonts individually but still got the problem?]

    Also, in say, my incoming window, I'm getting information that, according to the incoming setup page, I shouldn't be getting? (The example that comes to mind was the end of weakened soul effect from PW:S on my priest if that helps at all.)

    I'm confused on how to make custom triggers now, i had em before for NS and such in Arena. Now that they added PvP trinket to the combat log, i wanted to make one for them. Im trying to figure out what Main Event that would be? it used to be Buff gained for NS i think i remember.

    AddOns tab. Also ensure the MSBTOptions module is properly installed.


    I didn't have any reports of that through the beta. Is there a specific scenario that is causing it to fail?

    To start off, this is a fabulous AddOn! However, I'm having a slight issue with the functionality. Occasionally it will simply not work(not cascade any dmg/heals/etc). This happening for anyone else?
