MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.

    I have not received any other reports of that. As long as you are running the latest version of MSBT (currently 5.3.26), it should be working correctly.

    I think patch 3.0.3 broke my MSBT to no longer show my auto attacks outgoing and incoming. any way to fix this outside a new release?

    MSBT only shows cooldowns in the static area by default. Perhaps you have another mod that is using MSBT for output and is also handling cooldowns?


    Partial Effects. Uncheck the ones you don't want to see.

    Its possible stop spam " amount" every outdoing poison dmg? I think help me add for events menu "partial effect" on/off.

    I have been using Mik's for some time now and noticed recently that it is showing when some of my abilities have cooled down both below my HUD in the static area and again in very small lettering in the notification area. I do not need this to be showing up twice, how can I disable the notifications for things like Lava Lash, Stormstrike, and so on in the Notification area.

    All of the ON/OFF based ones should basically follow the same pattern as this:

    Innervate on %r!
    Aura Application
    Skill Name - Is Equal To - Innervate
    Recipient Unit Reaction - Is Equal To - Hostile

    Zone Type - Is Not Equal To - Arena

    That last exception bit assumes you don't want to be notifed outside of the arena and isn't really required, but most of the time that's when folks want to know about these types of things.

    In the case of the "OFFs", use Aura Removal with the other settings the same.

    Moront / Gornil:

    Game Damage option.

    There is no way to stop disabling the incoming Blizzard FCT, because MSBT replaces it with a far more customizable system. I can't imagine why you would want to do that. You can completely modify the way MSBT displays the incoming information including animation styles, fonts, etc.


    I have been considering adding looting as a base capability, but I've not been a big hurry because, as you mentioned, LootAlert does the job nicely.

    Just tried this in favor of Pitbull, and I really like this more. The only feature that Pitbull had that I miss is that it would show looted items. This was great when questing. I found a mod called LootAlert that looks like it outputs into msbt - should I just use that or is there an option I'm missing?

    Couldn't see any previous mention of this, but I pretty much use MSBT for Mage procs (Excellent for noticing Brain Freeze compared to Blizz's small "Fireball!") and cooldown notification. I prefer having damage show above the targets avatar. I've enabled Blizzard target damage and healing, but whenever I login, the Incoming damage, healing, honor gains, reputation gains section seems to be disabled by the addon. Is there an option im missing that I can select to stop MSBT from disabling this section?

    I have the same problem. Really anoying having to reenable those option in interface all the time. Is there a way we can stop it from disabeling the WoW combattext?

    Hey, nice mod. I have made a lot of triggers based on CC and so but after read the readme file i still cant get the "DIVINE SHIELD ON" to work, "INNERVATE ON/OFF" "Cloak of shadows ON" and "Iceblock" on. I have tryed everythig almost.

    Can you write me how to make them or mabe where i can read exactly how to make them. Hope you answer :)!!! Nice mod btw!

    I found my solution. I'll share it just in case someone runs into the same problem.

    1.) open the MSBTOptions Directory
    2.) open the file "MSBTOptionsTabs.lua" with your text editor
    3.) search for the entry "slider:SetMinMaxValues(5, 300);".......its under the "-- Cooldown threshold slider." header
    4.) I changed mine for a "4" min it looks like this "slider:SetMinMaxValues(4, 300);"

    This now shows my Chain Lightning Cooldown!!!

    Hi Mik, in your response to Kilij in regards to Beacon of Light you said

    Skill Name - Is Equal To - Beacon of Light "

    My problem is that when I attempt to add the event "Aura Fade" It's not an event under the "Main Event" drop down menu.

    All the other options are there regarding auras however. Any help would be appreciated.
