About Mistra's Diablo Orbs

Mistra's Diablo Orbs

Mistra's Diablo Orbs provides the user with a clean, aesthetically pleasing, and functional center piece for monitoring player health and mana. The orbs are fully fleshed-out, with smooth animated fillings, and multiple textures.

This addon provides the following:

  • Health and Mana Orbs - each with full custom user colorization and several textures to choose from.
  • A Pet Orb - one compact unit to monitor pet health/mana, aesthetically matching the health and mana orbs.
  • Power tracking - Monks, Shadow Priests, Paladins, Warlocks, Rogues, and Feral druids will have a power tracking frame that will animate whenever their resource is capped. (Holy Power, the various forms of Soul Shards, combo points, etc)
  • Plethora of options - Users are able to pick their own colors and formatting whenever they want via a new, easy-to-use GUI.
  • No third party libraries - This addon is usable from the get-go, out of the box, and looks good without requiring heavy configuration.
  • Accessible author - I'm the same guy who made the oUF_D3Orbs_Lightweight addon, and I'm always available for thoughts on improvements, additions, and bug reports.

Thank you for using Mistra's Diablo Orbs!

Q & A

  • Q: How do I change my orb colors?
    • A: There are a couple of ways for you to access the orb menu. You can type /mdo in the chat window and press Enter, or you can click on the Minimap Button.
  • Q: How do I move things around?
    • A: Simply hold shift, and click and drag any orb or frame around. You can move things to your heart's content!
  • Q: Can I disable the Pet Orb, or any other element of the orbs?
    • A: Yes, of course. The only elements you cannot disable are the Health and Mana orbs. Every additional frame is a user choice, and is up to you to use!
  • Q: My health dropdown is acting funny, I can't seem to find the "Combat" option. What gives?
    • A: Dropdowns are a tad finicky in WoW. While I look into this issue, you can get around it by simply selecting the "Mana Orb" option, and then re-selecting "Health Orb." It'll show up!

If you have any questions, bug reports, or feedback, please don't hesitate to let me know! I can be reached here on Curse, on the forums, or on the project site. Please don't be afraid to ask me a question or give me a suggestion. I will try and stay as accessible as possible.

Wonderful addon. What I would like to do is this, make my mana orb smaller and lay it on top of the bottom edge of my health orb. Then I'd like to have an option for an orb for my target and a be able to make a smaller orb for their mana/focus/rage orb. I may also like an option for enabling a focus orb as well.

If any of this is possible, please let me know.

Individual scaling is coming soon, so that should help with what you wanted at first - I am still considering unit-frame getups.

Really love this addon, however is there a way to hide the minimap button, I am using Sexy map but there is not an option to disable from the minimap.

  • #51

I have contacted the current project lead of SexyMap and that issue will be solved in his next update.

    Warrior's have 120 rage opticionality.

Addon display incorrect information(100/120 vs 120/120).

    Fix this, please.

After testing this, I think I know where you are getting confused.

There are no hardcapped values in this addon - it will dynamically scale to whatever value the resource happens to be.  What you are probably seeing is this:

The "100" is a representation of the percentage of the resource you have left.  I.E. if you have 120 rage, and your maximum is 120, you have 100% of the resource available.

When you lose rage, you see this number go down.  It's a bit redundant normally for Warriors, since they only get 100 rage by default, so instead both values look like a remainder.  Because of this, I added the ability to get rid of either number - you can change their opacity values to zero, rendering them invisible.  This is done in the orb menu by pressing the "Percentage" or "Value" buttons, and changing the opacity value on the slider.

Fantastic addon. To make it even better i would love to be able to have mana-orb as target, and pet-orb as focus or my own mana/rage etc. Anyhow, good work.

Can you allow the option to disable the mana orb and instead have it show your target?

  • #45

Would love to use this addon if it had a option to show my targets orb, instead of my mana. This would be slick, my orb on the left, my target on the right orb. Any chance you can make this happen?

  • #44

Awesome to see someone keeping the D3 orbs alive, but I was wondering if there was any chance of the class colors on target frames and the mouse tooltip coming back, like what the original D3 orbs addon had?

  • #43

I've got a problem: my main ist a moonkin and everytime I start this addon, it removes my eclipse bar :/ is there a way to get it back while using this addon?

  • #40

    Is Background at my UI

  • #42

Can you elaborate?  I am not too sure what you mean, sorry.

  • #39

great addon bro real there a way you can add orbs for target and, tot in next update???

  • #41

I appreciate the idea - but honestly, probably not.  The idea here is to have a unique HUD for your character - adding orbs everywhere for other elements may not, in the end, be aesthetically pleasing.
