About Moncai Compare

EquipCompare. Many have used it, many loved it. Then, Blizzard added it's own implementation. However, this requires you to hold the shift key every time. Not anymore! MoncaiCompare is a lightweight addon with zero overhead to bring you the comfort of the original EquipCompare using as much as Blizzard's own code as possible.

Automatically showing comparison tool tips in the bank, at the auction, in your bags, in the dungeon journal, when looking at quest rewards and when clicking item links. Replacement for EquipCompare.

New in 5.3.0

  • New! Dungeon Journal Item tips now shown on the left side, or as far left as possible

New in 5.1.0.1

  • Tested to work in all languages and localizations, including ptBR and itIT.
  • Now also works in the dungeon journal
  • If, for some reason, you temporarily don't want to see the comparison, simply hold the comparison modifier key (usually shift)

Known Bugs

  • Currently no known bugs. May or may not work with certain bank / inventory / item based addons. If you come across an addon you would like for Moncai Compare to work with, please create a ticket.

    What steps will reproduce the problem?

    What is the expected output? What do you see instead?


    What version of the product are you using?


    Do you have an error log of what happened?

    Does this problem occur when all other addons are disabled? If not, use the process of elimination and report where the addon conflict lies (including the version of the conflicting addon).

    Please provide any additional information below.

    When browsing the AtlasLoot (mod) item browser, the comparison tooltip (what I'm wearing) doesn't show up :(

    Are you aware of anything in your addon that would cause the tooltip to fade in about 1 second? I was having this occur off and on and it was driving me nuts. I would reload the UI and it would be ok for a while then all of a sudden it would start happening and it wouldn't stay on long enough (the tooltip) for me to hardly read it. I started eliminating possible suspects dealing with tooltips and when I removed this addon it stopped happening. I put everything else back in place and have played for a few days and all is fine. Since I couldn't play for more than 5 minutes before without this problem I have to assume this addon was the problem, sorry.

    I'm sorry, but I do not know any cause in my addon for the behaviour you describe. Unless you give me a specific combination of MoncaiCompare and one other addon that produces this behaviour, I'm afraid I couldn't possibly investigate your issue.

    I tried your addon, but using it together with AdvanvedTradeskill Addon results in a complete WOW hang :-)
    Any ideas?

    When will you be adding in support for the +/- stat stuff like what the regular blizzard stuff shows for comparison tooltips ?

    This is fully supported by MoncaiCompare, you simply have to enable it through standard Blizzard options.

    This mod has worked since the patch for me, but today it is starting to have problems. The "currently equipped" pane does not move. So sometimes the new item's tooltip is on top of it. This defeats the purpose. Can you look into this? They must have patched something last night because a number of addons are acting up again.

    The placement of the comparison tooltips is not influenced by my addon and neither is the framerate when tooltips are shown. Therefore this problem must come from either a bug in the default interface or some other addon.

    Have you tried disabling all addons and *only* enabling MoncaiCompare? Did that give the same result? If not, please try the process of elimination and find out which combination of addons produces this result. Thank you!

    The equiped item's tooltip is always somewhere else (most on the top).

    im looking for a add-on that shows u what aal will happen when u equip an item... like how much health u get and stuff like that... im new so any tips will be helpful.... thankks!!
