About MonkeySpeed

About MonkeySpeed:

The MonkeySpeed AddOn for WoW displays your speed as a percentage of run speed.
It can be used everywhere and anytime (run, swim, mount, flying mount, vehicle...)

MonkeySpeed Features:

  • Percent text and color bar toggle-able
  • Absolute speed feature (without pitch)
  • Color + opacity of frame customizable
  • Color + opacity of border customizable
  • Frame is movable, resize-able and lockable
  • Right-click opens options (can be disabled)

    bug report: if the addon is disabled from the addon control panel addon and then /reload, it loses its positional settings after it is loaded again.

    This is a very common usage since people use setups for raiding that do not need this addon.

    MonkeySpeed is a lovely addition to my UI. I find uses for it all the time - from visual PvP cue to level-flight meter on long treks across the continent - and literally every day. I don't care very much for Blizzard's idea of a speedometer: buried in the middle of all your stats on the character pane, and it only shows your maximum speed, not your current speed. So thank you for making my game experience nicer!

    Oh, and I'm not sure if you're planning a little update to get rid of the "out-of-date" status on WoW's addon interface or not, but I haven't seen any problems with MonkeySpeed in WoW patch 4.1 so far, I just tell WoW to load out-of-date addons.

    First, let me say that I've been using this addon since Vanilla. Such a simple little thing, but I feel so lost without it, so thank you very much for this.

    Second, I lost my speed panel behind my Chocolate Bar, couldn't figure out where I'd put it. Easily fixable, but perhaps a "reset location" button for a future update?

    Thanks for your lovely words. Currently you can reset all options (including the position) with the Default button on the MonkeySpeed Options frame.

    Maybe I will add an option to only reset the position!

    May I ask if the framestrata will be set a little lower, cause it is on top of my bags :( and not where other windows usually are. In MonkeySpeed.xml,

    currently, frameStrata="HIGH"

    maybe, frameStrata="LOW" or something ?

    MonkeySpeed works fine in Cata beta, the only issue I seem to have is the frame is not resizeable, but that's a minor complaint with probably a simple fix.

    Great addon! Nice, clean, tells me what I want. Good job. Only thing I could think of that would be a handy additional feature would be to be able to switch it to +speed instead of overall speed(like +310% instead of 410%). Doesn't really matter that much but would be nice.
