About Mounted

Brand new complete rewrite of Mounted is available as alpha

Mounted Priority Config

  • Complete redo of Mounted
  • profile based priorities
  • mounts can be grouped
  • macros sytem has been simplified (only 2 tags <primary>, <secondary>)
  • Fancy new interface which attaches itself to the Mount Journal page blizzard provides

Mounted is patched for 4.0

with the mount changes in 4.0 Mounted is due for another rewrite until then Mounted will work just like before (but since mount speeds now scale with skill they have all been set to max Mounted 3 will remove the speed selection options all together)

Please report any bugs to the ticket tracker here

Warning in order for Mounted to work properly in your local the following strings need to be translated at the very least.

  • L["SpeedFast"] = "extremely%s+fast" -< unique phrase found only in extremely fast mounts (310% flying)
  • L["SpeedMedium"] = "very%s+fast" -< unique phrase found only in fast mounts (100% ground or 280% flying)
    • Translations may be submitted here.

With the coming of WoW 3.0 we may now have as many mounts as we want since we learn them and do not have to carry them in you bags.

Thus my dilemma which mount shall i use and how can i chose them easily out of the mess of mounts found in the mounts tab.

Out of this Mounted was born. Instead of mucking about with secure code and make buttons that have to be skinned and carefully placed in your UI i instead chose to utilize the macro functions. Thus enabling you to simply use any actionbar mod.

So what does mounted actually do for you?

  • It will create a macro called Mounted in your global macro space this way you only use one slot and not one per character.
  • It will scan through all your mounts and create a list and sort them by speed.
  • It will then analyze your surroundings and edit the Mounted macro.
    • If you can fly then it will chose a random flying mount from the fastest category it will also chose a random ground mount to be used when using a modifier with the macro.
    • If you can not fly it will simply chose a random ground mount from the fastest category.
    • If you enter combat it will change the macro to a combat macro which you can edit in the Blizzard Addon options.
    • If you are indoors it will change to the indoor macro.
    • If you are swimming it will change to the swimming macro.
  • A new mount will be chosen for you every time you mount up.
  • the macros are compleatly customizable (editing of the attack macro is highly recommended)
  • macros can by customized with tags that get replaced when the macro is parsed (see below for list of available tags)
  • custom macros are saved globally so you will have access to them from all your characters (per account)
  • you can preview your macros before deciding on them
  • you can set priorities for mounts from 0-10 (0 = will never be selected, 10 will most likely be selected)
  • If you want to add a spell such as travel form you may do this from the options this will then be put into the mount linup (after you configured the spell)

Macro tags are:

Here are tags you may use to customize the above macros:
<ff> == Random Flying Mount (fastest speed increase)
<f310> == Random Flying Mount (310% speed increase)
<f280> == Random Flying Mount (280% speed increase)
<f60> == Random Flying Mount (60% speed increase)
<gf> == Random Ground Mount (fastest speed increase)
<g100> == Random Ground Mount (100% speed increase)
<g60> == Random Ground Mount (60% speed increase)
<g0> == Random Ground Mount (0% speed increase)
<ww> == Random Water Mount (defaults to <gf> if no mount was found)
<aq> == Random Ahn'Qiraj Mount
<s#> == will be replaced with the spellname of spellid (will not insert rank so will scale)[/code]

If any mounts are missclassified please let me know so i can fix the scanner. You may fix this on your end by simply editing the mount in the Mount Options

Mounted also supports the various Druid forms and the Shaman Ghost Wolf form though there may be some bugs associated with them since i don't have either character to do extensive testing on all i get is premades on the PTR when they are available. Mounted will also present you with some druid /shaman macros as appropriate.

any suggestions or improvements are most welcome please open a ticket about them.

If you want a very similar addons for your other Critters look no further and go to here.

I'm not quite sure what is causing this error but I've recently been getting this.

I'm still using Mounted and really like its flexibility, but one thing I am having a problem seeing is how I can set up a zone-special macro for Darkmoon Faire.  This is apparently because the Faire does not exist under any "Continent" (or instance/battleground) category.

Is there a way to do this?

Hey Yssaril, the fixes for the Warlock worked great. I think you already knew that but thanks :-).

Now it's the druids that are giving me problems. I can't find any ways to have Mounted use any of the druid sapeshift. None of them appear in the list of existing mounts and when I create a new group, the different druid forms are not available.

[edit] Same issue with the Shaman Ghost Wolf

    Thanks in advance.

i am still debating if i should include insta cast mount type spells. in all my time playing i always keept them pulled out seperat for emergencys. currently the only mounts that are available in mounted are the ones form the Mount Journal.

  • #517

Thoroko obviously has never played a shaman before.  If they had, they would know how incredibly useful it is to be able to cast ghost wolf on the run, in an instance or raid, or in combat using the same mounted macro as the rest.

Please, please, PLEASE add this feature to the new mounted.  I don't want to have to keep manually adding mounts and 'fixing' the addon every patch day just to keep this basic functionality.

Ghost wolf, travel form, etc. I do not think are necessary, but flight form definitely is. I love the functionality of having all my mounts on a single keybind, but I'd prefer to still use flight form on my druid as its instant cast.

If you don't plan on adding flight form as a choice of mount, is there any way to add it to the dynamic macro myself?

    Mounted and Carbonite

    Great news

If you are using Carbonite and Mounted, you have to set the Layer of the map on carbonite to layer 2 otherwise Mounted will bring the background to the foreground making the setting dissapear.

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

Thanks for all the hard work and the scrips from yssaril and his time in tryiong to help fix this combination problem.

  • #512

I am currently going through the different modules to see which one it might be messing with it,

I know that Rythal has taken over Carbonite, and he is busy re-coding a lot of things, so i dont know if he will find the time or even knwo where to start looking for addon conflicts till he is happy with the new code, i will post a message on the forum and on his private page, hopefully it will help him with other addons that might have a similar effect

  • #510

Ok it comes witha very heavy heart that i have to report that the offending addon is Carbonite, it is one of my Key addons.

Switch Carbonite on and off several times, every time it is on, Mounted bugs out, when it is off Mounted is perfect.

  • #511

You should tell at then over at wowinterface for messing with other addons

  • #508

I ran those scripts you posted before and i get

    MainFrame: 28
    ChildFrame: 29
    SubChildFrame: 2

Ususlay before the update it took awhile before the background became the foreground hiding the settings, but the new alpha stars off with the Background as the foreground and there is no errors getting thown up al all.

Reloaded the UI and ran the scripts before opening Mounted and i get nothing in the chat log,

Open Mounted, background is foregrouns and run scrip now it is

    MainFrame: 15
    ChildFrame: 16
    SubChildFrame: 2

I updated the Mounted addon using Mounted-v2.2.11-10-g6d547c1.zip so it is the latest alpha.

  • #509

have you tried playing without KGpanels? at this point you have something serriously screwing with other mods

so it is up to you to figure out what is causing it i tried everything on my end to help the rest is up to you

  • #506

Hi there, well heres what happeded so far

When it is all working the outputs are

    MainFrame:0
    ChildFrame:1
    SubChildFrame:2

then a few minutes later when it wasnt working i checked it again
    MainFrame:20
    ChildFrame:21
    SubChildFrame:2

So the SubChild Frame stayed the same.

    I then did the /script MNT4.MainFrame:SetAlpha(.5)

It went transparent, and not only could i see the settings (very faint) but i could change the sliders and such like.

Closing the journal and re-opening it I would have to use the /script MNT4.MainFrame:SetAlpha(.5) each time, a Macro helps that short term i guess.

I have tried to find out what addon is causing this, but the problem is, every time i reload my UI, Mounted works perfect, so it will take a LONG time to go through all my addons. But i hope this sheds some light on the situation.
