About Mage Taxi

Why are there so many mods for trade skill spam and not a single one for the easiest money maker in the game: mage ports? Well here it is.

This is built to be simple and efficient for advertising mage ports.

Old versions of MageTaxi will need to be fully deleted! Don't just "drag-n-drop" replace it! (people actually still have them?!?!)

Features
Automatically detects for Alliance/Horde
Easy one-button spamming
Automatic Trade channel detection once you enter a city/log in
Automatically disables ports the character hasn't learned yet
Custom pricing

Usage
/magetaxi OR /mtaxi to open window

Spam Button
Spams Trade channel advertising for ports (selected ports don't effect this!).

LFM
After receiving a port request, press this to advertise for more people for the selected port.

Last Call
Use this to announce a last call for the selected port.

Special Notes (please read before asking)
This will not work outside of a city, so spamming newbie zones isn't a concern.

+ Realized that MageTaxi should become more popular again in Cataclysm after town portals are removed.  So get off my ass and update it.  ;)

+ .toc updated
+ Fix so it no longer says "port to anywhere" to be "port to <selected>"
+ Prices now pull directly from the edit box rather than saved vars when clicking buttons.  Previously, if users didn't press "ENTER" after changing a price, it'd still display the old price instead.
+ Instead of spamming incorrect nonsense and/or errors, the player will get a warning if they have no ports selected/available when pressing buttons.
+ Some coding cleanup for more efficiency.

    To the guy that asked about spam message saying 'porting to anywhere' as opposed to a certain destination, you can change the "..dest.." variable as follows, just change your message to suit, it's at line number 119 in notepad and change "..dest.." to just plain text, i.e.:

    msg = "WTS portals to anywhere from ".. currentLoc.. ", "..MageTaxi_PriceBox:GetText().. "g. ".. MageTaxi_TravelBox:GetText().. "g for me to come to another city."
    --SendChatMessage(msg, "WHISPER", nil, "ChaosInc")
    SendChatMessage(msg, "CHANNEL", nil, trade)

    I need to know what PST means.
    When i i use the Last Call button, its shouts out "MageTaxi: LAST CALL: Porting from Orgrimmar to Dalaran, PST to be included for 5g."

    What does the PST to be included for 5g mean!?

    PST is the whisp sound. like when u whisper to someone irl u say "Pst, i gotta tell u smth"

    Aboute that spamm buttn is ther one on magetaxi or du we like have to make a macro for it? only thing i have is a 0 that i cnat do any thing to so i think it counts somtn and ther shoud also be a minni map buttn for the mageTaxi and a option to make your own spamm or somtn like that other than that i like the addon good woork

    I wish this were true.
    I wish when I pressed the spam button, the trade message will read "WTS portals from " .. currentLoc.. " to, " ..ANYWHERE-I-CAN-PORT-TO-ACCORDING-TO-MY-CHAR'S-LEVEL-AND-YET-NOT-ANY-OTHER-PLACE.. ..MageTaxi_PriceBox:GetText().. "g. ".. MageTaxi_TravelBox:GetText().. "g for me to come to another city."

    But unfortunately when I press the Spam button, it says "MageTaxi: WTS portals to SELLECTED-LOCATION to CURRENT-LOCATION etc. etc."
    I looked at the lua file... It's done very well and I'm just missing a part where it checks the spells he CAN use (the portals he DOES have) and says on Spam button click: "WTS portals to Org\UC\TB\Silvermoon from Orgrimmar" for example.
    You understand what I mean, right?
    And you can do that right? Because you DO have some part of the addon checking which places I can port to as a mage... otherwise you wouldn't be able to disable the selection of these spells... right? :)

    I would've done it myself, but I can't figure out how to use the noUsable loop at the end to my advantage ^_^

    The messages have changed since original release, the desc hasn't been changed yet to reflect this. My bad on that part.

    As far the message, it can be done; It'll just take a bit of added code to do it. Ideally, I plan to have it so that people can make their own messages in the future. I just haven't gotten that far yet.

    Long Answer: An update will be released when it's released. I have quite a few projects (new and old) that stand ahead of this. At this point, MageTaxi does what it needs to do and was originally designed for. Additional features for this, and any of my projects for that matter, kinda sit in limbo until I "feel like updating it". As you may know, adding stuff isn't really a short-time thing. An update usually consists of several minutes/hours of coding (depending on the update) and ALWAYS hours of testing to make try and make sure nothing breaks along the way.

    Short Answer: When I get around to it. ;p

    as long as you just add an option to let the spam button say "I can port you from WHERE-I-AM to WHEREVER-I-CAN-PORT-TO" I'll be truly happy.

    P.S.
    I'm the one who updated Mage Taxi way back in TBC to add the Stonard portal & the ally equivalent ^_^
    So I know the code pretty well. And I gotta say - you've done a major improvement imho :D

    Finally got around to checking this out and here's what I've found:

    RE: "open to anywhere"
    This was hardcoded and will be changed to be more dynamic on next release. I believe this was just supposed to be a placement at the time but never finished it.

    RE: Prices not changing in text
    At this time it's coded that you have to make sure to press "Enter" before you hit a spam button. If you simply change the value and press the button, it will still say the old amount. I will fix this next release as well.
