About MTLove 2

This add-on adds a target of mouseover frame to the wow-client (the mouseover is the unit who is under your mouse-cursor).
The main advantage is that you don't need to switch your target to get this information which is much faster, especially in combat and you can still cast spells on your target.
It was originally made to help tanks (therefore the name MTLove -> Main-Tanks-Love) but it may is also useful for any other class.

  • It provides a frame attached to your mouse and/or a additional tooltip next
    to the default one.
  • It can add small counters to its frame/tooltip/default target-frame/default focus-frame, which display the number of players per class or armor type who have your mouseover/target/focus as target.
  • It can show a bar above and/or below the frames indicating your current mouseover targets health/power status.

Hey guys malfdawg here,
I'll be making minimal updates/adjustments to this already awesome add-on as necessary to keep it running smoothly for everyone.
I rely heavily on you the community to report whatever bugs or issues you're experiencing in order to get them corrected as soon as possible.

    For anyone still using this, for some reason something at line 27 causes it to not work, found deleting the line seems to fix this.

  • #88

    GetCVar("RealmName") was removed - replaced with GetRealmName()

    Change line 27 to:

    MTLove_UI_Variables_Loaded = MTLove_UI_CMD_prefix .. "Settings for " .. UnitName("player") .. " of " .. GetRealmName() .. " loaded.";

    Thank you for the update.

    Sorry, but I sopped playing WoW about 2 years ago (quit 2nd time actually). I also do not think I will ever return.

    Therefore I cannot check what is wrong and fix it. If someone wants to take this project over, just contact me.

    Update please!

    This mod can be made functional by editing MTlove.lua in the mtlove-core directory, changing lines 126 and 127 to read:

    local alias_GetNumPartyMembers = GetNumSubgroupMembers;
    local alias_GetNumRaidMembers = GetNumGroupMembers;

    I've been using this mod pretty much since 2006 and hate being without it.

    I can't thank you enough mate!

    Though it turned out to be on a different line, just using the findnext feature to find 'local alias_GetNumPartyMembers' will get you to the place in the doc that you need to be.

    Thanks again.

    That's a concept!
    I never really thought about that...

    It would be some sort of major rewrite and currently I don't have time for that, but I look into that.

    Note to me: Hiding numbers for classes/armor type not in group would be a good thing too

    Thank you for the addon, been using it for over a year now. I was wondering if there is a way to color code the tooltips by class instead of by armor type. I Still get confused when I see a healer's name in red, thinking it's a Death Knight. I don't see any RGB values in the files, but I don't know the first thing about modding LUA.

    Appreciate any tips on how to do this.

    I still need someone to confirm that oRA2 and/or CT_RaidAssist support is functional at all.
    Please also report any other bugs and/or spelling/grammar mistakes!

    The verification would be something like:
    * install both MTlove2 2.3.0 and oRA2 or CT_RaidAssist
    * enable "experimental oRA2 or CT_RaidAssist support" on the about page of MTLove's configuration
    * join a raid using one of both raid assistant tools
    * make the raid leader set one or more maintanks in those assistant tools, but not using blizzards default raid UI
    * either
    A - wait for a fight and verify that these maintanks are shown in white letters when you mouseover a mob targeting them
    B - enable party member players as units for both the mouseover and mouseovertarget and the "out of combat" option in MTLove's configuration and get someone in the raid to target the maintank, mouseover them and see if they show up in white
    * report what you found here or via email (address is displayed in your chat window when the addon is loaded, and on the about-page in MTLove's configuration)
    * be proud of your work and receive positive feedback ;-)

    Thank you!

    I am extremely sad to see your leaving Warcraft BDK

    Before you go I would like to thank you personally for your addon it is one of those pinacle addons that makes tanking easier on mult mob pulls. Thank you so very much mate.

    Also as such a respected member of the WoW community I urgh you to post your reasons for leaving to the CM's on the WoW forums so maybe just maybe those changes you need might happen.
