About Nerien's Ovale Scripts

Nerien's Ovale Scripts is a script collection for Ovale Spell Priority. The user can choose a script for the current class from amongst a collection of scripts contributed by other users.

These scripts are meant to be used in live raiding scenarios where the player must make the important choices in the rotation. Each script creates at least two primary icons:

  • Main Rotation Icon: shows how to maximize DPS without the use of any cooldown abilities
  • Cooldown Icon: suggests cooldowns or other situational abilities that can be applied at the current time

Each class script may also have additional icons for other class-specific information, e.g., to suggest dumping rage using Heroic Strike as a warrior or Savage Defense as a bear druid. Each class script may also suggest maintaining self buffs, e.g., Arcane Brilliance, Mark of the Wild, etc., and raid buffs and debuffs, e.g., Curse of the Elements, etc.

Status

There are user-contributed scripts for Patch 5.2 for the following classes and specializations.

  • Druid: Feral, Guardian
  • Hunter: Beast Mastery, Survival
  • Mage: Arcane, Fire, Frost
  • Monk: Brewmaster, Windwalker
  • Paladin: Protection, Retribution
  • Rogue: Assassination, Combat
  • Shaman: Elemental, Restoration

How to Use

Install Nerien's Ovale Scripts like any other addon. Open up the Ovale code window and select the script you would like to use for the current profile.

    - Tag scripts as ready for MoP 5.3.
    Remove Subtlety Rogue script for now as it's broken, but it will be
    resurrected in the near future.
    - Update spell info for MoP 5.3.
    Druid:
    - Symbiosis: Intimidating Roar had its cooldown increased to 90 seconds,
      up from 60 seconds.
    - Ironbark now has a cooldown of 90 seconds, down from 2 minutes.
    
    Hunter:
    - Binding Shot is no longer a talent.
    - Blink Strike has been renamed Blink Strikes and turned into a passive
      ability.
    - Intimidation is now a level-30 talent.
    
    Mage:
    - Incanter's Ward effect now lasts 25 seconds, up from 15 seconds.
    
    Paladin:
    - Daybreak is now a stackable effect with a duration of 10 seconds.
    - Tier-14 Holy Paladin 4-piece set bonus now reduces the cooldown of Holy
      Shock by 1 second, down from 2 seconds.
    
    Rogue:
    - Shuriken Toss energy cost has been increased to 40 energy, up from 20.
    - Glyph of Cheap Shot now increases the duration of Cheap Shot by 0.5
      second, down from 1 second.
    - Revealing Strike now lasts 24 seconds, up from 18 seconds.
    
    Shaman:
    - Lightning Bolt can now be cast while moving.
    - Glyph of Unleashed Lightning has been removed.
    - Druid: Sort Symbiosis spells.
    - Rogue: Update subtlety action list to SimC:sc_rogue.cpp@r16257.
    - Paladin: Sacred Shield updates for protection paladins.
    Sacred Shield is affected by spell haste, and make sure that Sacred Shield
    won't run out before it has a chance to be refreshed before entering
    combat.
    - Paladin: Correct "max holy power" when below level 85.
    - Monk: Add toggle for TeB usage to choose playstyle for WW monks.
    - Monk: Add configurable threshold for suggesting Expel Harm.
    Also add some Healing Elixir defintions for later use.
    - Shaman: The pet buffs from PE are from the pet, not the player.
    - Shaman: Check the correct buff applied by Stormlash Totem.

    FERAL: Interrupting with Skull Bash

    I just recently switched to the Feral script, let me say first off that this is alot more accurate than any others that ive tried,.  Using Mangle is alot better than Shred for combo point generation as the 5 less energy has made my Rake and Rip's uptime closer to 99%.  I use Badkitty to track the dots and its dead on, I've been a Feral Cat since TBC, and this script is by far the best thing I have ever tried.

    I have an addition that i think will please alot of us Kitty's:

    I use Spell Flash to track when to interrupt, would it be possible to code "Skull Bash"  into the script to tell us when to interrupt.the NPC when the circumstances apply?

    Any progress yet?

    hallo there i just started to use Ovale as feral druid got a problem thoif i will use Nerien's Ovale Scripts when ever i change form from cat to bear or caster form my fps from 60 drops to 10 for 1 second basicly my screen freezz

    Hi there. The frost mage script on this addon seems to cause ovale to memory leak. This is the ONLY script that is now doing it (thanks for the quick fix on all the other ones). Getting upwards of 80MB of memory after a while. I noticed you work on both addons. Hopefully it's the same problem and the fix is relatively simple. I prefer that frost mage script over the standard one. 

    edit: This seems to be fixed now. Haven't tested extensively but seeing as it was happening when I was just standing around, should be good. Thanks for the quick fix yet again.

    Extra note: what does work perfectly is Thrash showing when Omen of clarity popped up! So Thrash becomes free to use since Thrash is the most expensive ability to use. But an important debuff for more dps. Great job on that!

    Ive tried the addon with Leafkiller's script. But it keeps telling me mangle. Even when rip has run out. Mangle is used to refresh rip. But why does mangle show up 4 times in a row? The first 2 mangle's have rip still up but doesnt refresh the rip. The last 2 mangles show up when Rip has already run out. So why does it still say mangle? Mangle should ONLY be used to refresh Rip. Since mangle doesnt do much damage or apply a debuff anymore. The energy is better spend on rake and shred.

    And it tells me to refresh faerie fire while i still have half of it on countdown till it runs out. Same with savage roar when i still have 12 seconds left of Savage Roar on target. When i popped incarnation with berserk it doesnt tell me to use ravage. Maybe just once it tells me, when i can actually do more ravage because rake, rip, faerie fire and savage roar are still on target. I know the kitty rotation like the inside of my pocket. I wanted to use this addon to make dps-ing easier as a raidleader. So i dont have to watch the debuffs anymore.To me it seems the rotation isnt perfectly displayed yet with this addon. Of course if u need any help with the rotation, i can offer help?

    Can the addon be made more accurate? Or is there a better script available suitable for Pandaria (incl flasks)

    I would check the thread linked at the top of the Leafkiller script with any concerns about the ability usage.  The feral theorycrafting community there might be able to shed more light on the way that abilites are suggested in the script.

    Having an issue with the latest nerian arcane script...2 of the "out of combat" functions work great, arcane brilliance and mage armor (I changed it to frost armor in "main actions" section) but for some reason the conjure mana gem is still displayed after I have conjured them.  I am using glyph of mana gem and it looks very similiar to my old custom script that had the same issue which I was able to work around by changing the "regular mana gem" to >0 instead of >3 but when I do that on the nerian script it gets rid of it completely.  It does disappear once I enter combat but I would like it to work properly so I can tell if i really need to conjure them.  Also it does not prompt for food or flasks even though I see them defined and in the "Main Actions"...not too worried about those but actually they are listed in the "All specializations", "Full Rotations" and "Main Actions" windows...not really sure what these other categories are for... "All Specializations" is obviously for all 3 specs but how are full rotation and main action windows different?  Need a little help navigating this script. Also I would like to add the function for deep freeze and would like it to show up where the interrupt (counterspell) shows in the long cd window and have tried to add: if Spell(deep_freeze usable=1) to several different sections but does not show up, also want to add: if not BuffPresent(invokers_energy) and TalentPoints(invocation) Spell(invocation) so I can see the invokers energy icon and tell the difference between if I need to evocate b/c invokers energy ran out or i'm below 30% mana but again everywhere I add it nothing.  In my old custom script I could just add that line but the nerian script seems to add a function for everything in the "all specializations" and "full rotation" sections then the command in the main and cd windows? The only thing I added that shows up in combat in the main actions window is:  if ManaPercent() <=30 Spell(evocation) which I added at the end of the "All specializations" section but it does not take priority which leads me to believe there is a priority in the order you list functions? if I add it to say the top of that section will it show up before arcane blast, missiles and frost bomb? ...bear with me i'm not a code junkie just use trial and error. As always badass addon! keep up the great work.  Using ver. 5.2.10

    Hello,

    Your frost script doesnt seem to work with "Nether Tempest" . I'd says to cast it all the time. When using frostbomb everything seems okay.

    Noticed the Monk windwalker no longer tells us when to use Energizing brew or Lightning Fists... it used to, stopped working about ~1 week ago... I love your work tho !!! thanks a million. :)

    Same here. I think it's due to the new paperdoll feature in Ovale.

    There seems to be a problem with the Desto-lock script. It keeps showing chaosbolt, although I didn't have any sparks. In the last Version it recommend to save 3 of the sparks for using them in the <20% phase.

    Is this ok, or should the script get fixed?

    There aren't any warlock scripts in the this addon.  Are you perhaps using the default one from Ovale, or a custom one from the Ovale forums?
