About Notes

create and manage text notes ingame in a questlog like frame.

  • Right-click the title to change it
  • [ctrl] + Right-click the title to change the category
  • Your text is saved automatically
  • Drop items in your text

  • items, mergant items and spells can be dragged into the text
  • bugfix for the left scroll frame
  • the max length of a note has been increased from 500 to 5000.

Content

With this addon you can create and manage text notes ingame. Recipes, todos, all your text notes are saved and every character of your account can see and edit them.

  • items can be dragged into the text
  • item links have game tooltip
  • todo status
  • move the frame with [ctrl] + right mouse button
  • define a key binding to open/close the frame
  • type /note or /notes into the chat to open/close the frame
  • insert quest infos
  • send messages to guild, group, raid, battleground or as whisper
  • broker support (e.g. Titan Panel now can include a Notes-Button)
  • toc update

    Tomorrow I'll upload a new version for the patch 5.2.The new version supports categories:

    • right-click the title to change the title
    • [ctrl] + right-click the title to change the category

    Is there any way that notes can be separated into custom categories (i.e. Durotar, Northern Barrens,...) and subcategories (i.e. Quest Items, Receipts, Rares,...), just like URNotepad does (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/uncle-roalds-notepad-urnotepad)?

    That would be simply perfect!

    Lost data again.  Avoid using the mouse to highlight anything as the program will tend to auto highlight; and then typing anything will erase forever what you had highlighted.

     Use the Copy button to make an extra copy of anything you would hate to loose.  Then highlight and "ctrl c" (copy) your note and paste it into a Word document.

    Thank you for this addon, but this really needs some attention.

    I see there are some language barriers here.  If you'd like to contact me, send an ingame mail to "Hmm" - Ruin Battle group , Zul'jin realm.

    hmmm. that's the default behavior of a blizzard editbox. i'll check this issue, i think i'll have a look how the mail box works... thanks for the info.

    I really like this addon.  

    For some reason when starting to add more text by typing, it will sometimes select everything.  I've caught it (me?) doing this several times, but today I didn't see it and with a key stroke erased the document of data I'd been tediously keeping.  It would be nice to have that fixed.  It would be nice if there were an "undo" key at the bottom. 

    Whenever I close the document, I always feel funny that I'm not clicking  "save" or being prompted to do so.  Having to"save" would have resolved the above issue also.  I guess this would be my primary recommendation - have a "save/exit" button.  (Just using the "x" to close the document would not save your work.)

    In any case, thanks for the addon.  It's pretty sweet to have it.

    I have added enough notes to hit the bottom of the default window, and when I add more notes (and then need to scroll down to see them) I get this error when trying to scroll down.
