Description
NumPadBar is an action bar in the shape of a numpad. It works like a built-in action bar such as the Bottom Right ActionBar, for example. You can drag actions and macros into and out of NumPadBar, just like other action bars.
The first major difference between NumPadBar and built-in action bars is that it is in the shape of a numpad. Also, keybindings for numpad keys are already set up for the numpad bar. These keybindings are temporary and are only used while the numpad is displayed.
The second major difference is that NumPadBar can be used as a normal action bar or as a stance bar. When using it as a normal action bar, the same actions are used no matter what stance you are in. When using it as a stance bar, the actions will change depending on your stance; they will be the same actions that are in the built-in stance bar.
You can move NumPadBar anywhere on screen. You can change its size. You can choose from a selection of popular keyboards; this affects the layout of the numpad keys. You can hide NumPadBar. You can hide the labels on the keys. You can select whether to display the Enter key (and override Chat binding), and whether to display the cursor keys (and override movement and other bindings).
In the heat of combat, it is all too easy to accidentally drag actions out of action bars. Therefore, NumPadBar, as well as the built-in action bars, are locked during combat. This prevents all changes to NumPadBar during combat.
You can display instructions in a scrollable tooltip by right-clicking the invisible background of NumPadBar near the numeric keys and selecting Help.

Something funny is going on with Moonkin which I'll need to look into but you are right that the addon is missing the 12th action bar button during stance forms (easy fix); I'll be fixing those soon. On a side note, if you are looking through the code and referring to the logic for legacy tree forms, that code isn't used anymore and just hasn't been removed.
(Curse is having problems with comments on comments so I just replied to the top)
I am not sure how this came about but I think the information you have regarding druids is a little off. When a druid clicks his "stance" or "shape" bar it is a formshift primarily but it isn't always a stance shift. There are only 3 additional bars required for a druid: Cat, Cat (stealthed), and Bear. The Moonkin and Tree form functions are absolutely a duplicate of a druid's regular functions with buffs attached - nothing more. (The missing stealth bar is problematic.)
If I were to load Bartender and look at my bar assignments I would see Bars 1-6 allocated as Blizz does it, Bar 7 is Cat form, Bar 8 is Cat form (stealthed), and Bar 9 is Bear form. The kitty stealth form bar is needed as several abilities are available only in that form.
I still love this add-on, though I have modified the code a little to serve the needs of a DK, 3 druids, and 2 rogues all doing pvp at various levels. I wanted to use all the numpad and directional buttons so I wiped my standard keybinds, told NumPad to honor stance shifting and gave the following buttons: Bar 2 (buttons 13-24) is the core set thqat change when stance changes, and Bar 10 (buttons 108-120) is all the directional keys which don't change. (Thankfully there are several abilities which work across various stances and can remain visible.)
I am having trouble with Bar 2 button 13 or button 24 holding its assigned spell...I'll figure out which it is and let you know. Thanks again for this add-on - it is a game changer.
:)
NumPadBar only maps buttons to certain action bar slots, which Blizzard maintains. In the instance of Stance Switching, the NumPadBar maps everything to the main action bar slots and when the stance change occurs, everything happen automatically.
I think you're a little off in your observations of the action bar slots because moonkin definately has it's own stance bar. Tree form used to share with moonkin but that's been taken away when they redid tree form. I would suggest reading more about it here: http://www.wowwiki.com/ActionSlot
I have a druid and there are several others in my guild that have druids and are using the addon without issue, not to mention however many more there are from the 20k downloads the addon has had. I'm guessing that the changes you made are more for a custom use case rather than something to try and address a systemic problem in the addon itself.
I did check the wowwiki/wowpedia site as suggested and the information there bears out what i was saying:
"Druid Bonus Action Bars
ActionBar page 1 Cat Form: slots 73 to 84
ActionBar page 1 Prowl: slots 85 to 96
ActionBar page 1 Bear Form: slots 97 to 108
ActionBar page 1 Moonkin Form: slots 109 to 120"
There is no additional action bar or stance bar for tree form and I seriously question whether they really use Bar 10 for the Moonkin as upon shapeshift nothing changes on the bars at all. I thought this information might be useful. I also noticed this in your descriptions: "The numeric keys and the decimal point key on the numpad will now switch to the appropriate stance bar on stance changes; keys 0-9 and [.] on the numpad will match keys 0-9 and [-] on the stance bar." This may be part of what I have noticed about the + key on the NumPadBar, which I assumed was mapped to the 12th button on the action bar....but it appears that only 11 keys are mapped. Is this correct?
Thanks for your time and for this add-on!
I am now setting it up for my druids, a resto/boomkin and a feral/resto and have come across an issue. For a feral druid Blizz doesn't only use bar 7 for kitty and bar 9 for bear form, they also use bar 8 for stealth mode in kitty form as there are quite a few stealth only abilities. However Bar 8 appears to be used as the base non-shifted bar for NumPad. I can change this paging behavior with Bartender, telling it to use the base kitty bar, but then run into a problem with how to deal with these extra keys. I realize stealth mode for a kitty is not a huge percentage of time played so I should just suck it up...I am hoping for a way to remap any of the keys as I see fit, ie: Bar 1 as the default - then I can let Blizz and Bartender go ahead and swap in Bars 7, 8, & 9 as stance dictates - and these would in turn change the NumPad. (I suppose one issue I face is an incomplete understanding of how "state" on or off works.)
Any insight or suggestion is appreciated and again, THANK YOU!! This add-on almost single-handedly has changed my game for the WAY better :)
This version will still require resto and moonkin druids to resetup their numpadbars.
Worked fine before... So I'll just use the previous version.
