About OmegaMap

OmegaMap is a scalable, moveable, transparent WorldMap that the user can have on screen while they continue to play and interact with the world. It is based off of the old AlphaMap addon but re-written from the ground up using the Wow 4.x/5.x map code.

Features

Features include:

  • A scalable, moveable, transparent WorldMap
  • Options to display quests POI on the map with a hideable quest objective window
  • Option to display Archeology dig sites
  • Option to display Dungeon Boss Icons
  • Option to display alternate Minimap textured maps of Battlegrounds, Caves, and Dungeon Exteriors
  • Native support for displaying MapNotes, Gatherer, Gathermate2, CTMapMod, TomTom, Routes, _NPCScan.Overlay, QuestHelper Lite, PetTracker
  • Moveable HotSpot which brings up the map on mouseover.
  • "Compact Mode" will only show explorable areas of the map. Unexplored parts will have a slight tint to them . Note: Due to how Blizzard makes their maps, there is not a compact mode for every map.
  • OmegaMap now saves position and scale for Battlegrounds independent of the normal map. Just enter a BG and position the map, It will then switch when entering and leaving BGs.

Alternate BattleGround Maps:

Minimap textured maps of Battlegrounds displaying all player units, and Battleground flags/objectives. Right Clicking on the Map POI icons or icons in the not list will bring up a list of Commands to broadcast to the raid group. IE "Fall back to Black Smith" or "Farm Undefended." Left clicking will bring up Zerg Alerts to broadcast to the raid, IE 1,2,3,.. or "Zerg incoming to Farm". or "Farm OK!". For Capture the Flag Games, Right Clicking on the Flag Carrier icon will bring up Flag Carrier Alerts to Broadcast. IE "Alliance Flag Headed East" or "Horde Flag at Alliance Roof"

Exteriors & Caves :

Minimap textured maps for the following caves and dungeon exteriors (the area before the portal): Auchindoun, Blackfathom Deeps, Coilfang Reservoir, Dire Maul, Karazhan, Sunken Temple, Crumbling Depths & Temple of Earth in Deepholm, The Molten Flow daily area in the Firelands. All the above alternate maps have notes detailing key locations, mobs, etc. Note: Many of the exterior maps were removed in V1.1 due to Blizzard adding actual maps for the areas.

    Hey man, sorry RL happened. I just got to try it out, and sorry to say. but the blue fields are still there. :-(

    I'm going to try and turn off all my other mods, one at a time and see if I can find a conflict. Strange though, if it is another mod, they have never caused one before. I hope I can narrow it down.

    Sorry it took so long, real life reared its head and I didn't have a chance to get on untill today. I just pushed a new build that should fix the blue quest blob issue that you reported.  Please let me know if the problem still exists.

    Hello  Gathirer, I was wondering if it would be possible to add support for "Whooly" ( http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/wholly )  and "Grail" ( http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/grail ). This is a great mod for tracking all the quests in game, and shows the location of all quest givers on the world map. Makes it real easy to see where all the quest givers are, and see if you have missed any quests. Currently, I use Omegamap (GREAT MOD), but I have to revert back to the world map to see the quest givers that "Wholly" and "Grail" show. Not sure if this is something you have to do or if the author of "Wholly" and "Grail" (Nimhfree) would have to do. I sent him a message too. I hope you two could address this and hopefully get the two to work together.

    Awesome, thank you very much. Nimhfree, Wholly's author, said he is also trying to work it too. Not sure if you are talking to him. Either way, I think this would be a great addition.

    Two issues:

     

    - If I try to change my talents, this bugs, if I opened OmegaMap before (if I do not open OmegaMap this issue does not happen - Buggrabber complains about something called RemoveTalent called by something in an XML file in the end caused by OmegaMap, probably some sort of callback)

     

    - If I switch the map to a different zone than the one I am currently in after 2 seconds it flips back to the current zone. Very annoying Bug !!!

    I'll look into problem #1 and see what I can find.

    For Issue 2, are you useing any other map or quest addons?  Often this issue is caused by another addon requesting info on the current map which resets the map back to the current zone.

    Hello, I commented before about adding Quest Helper (QH Lite, QH2, etc..) and I see that you have added QHLite support. First off, thank you, but it doesn't seem to be working. I select it in the options menu to use QHLite, but alas, it doesn't show the ant trails.

    Also, I noticed that when I view the Blizzard world map and I zoom out, it shows quest objectives in all zones regardless of what zone I'm in. For example, If I'm the "Valley of the Four Winds" and I zoom out to see the whole continent of Pandaria, I want to be able to see all the quest objectives, from this zoomed out view, that are in all the other zones. Omega map doesn't do this. I have to use the Blizzard Map to see an overview of where all my quest objectives are. Omega Map will show the objective only if I zoom into each seperate zone individually. I was wondering if you could include this feature in Omega map please.

    Thanks for the heads up about the problem with QuestHelper Lite.  I found the problem and the ant trails should display on OmegaMap next build.  As for the quests showing in other zones, that is also part of QuestHelper Lite and the fix will cause them to show on OmegaMap now also.
