About OPie

OPie is a radial action-binding addon: it lets you group actions into rings which appear when you hold down a keyboard or mouse binding. When you release the binding, OPie will perform an action based on where your mouse cursor is.

Use OPie to reduce the amount of clutter on your action bars: rings can contain your abilities, items, professions, battle pets, equipment sets, macros, and raid or world markers. Some rings for common class abilities and professions are included, as is a special quest items ring which automatically makes all of your quest and quest-starting items easily accessible. Other addons may add additional rings; for example, Spade uses OPie rings to let you chose the seeds you want to plant on your farm.

Download OPie today; configure to your liking (/opie), and customize your rings (/opie rings). For more details, see the OPie Guide, the screenshots on Curse, or a YouTube video of OPie in action.

Ring snapshots and tutorial/gameplay videos

You can create snapshots of your custom rings to share with other players; if you like, you can post them in the comments section on this page. Likewise, if you've created a video showing how you use OPie, I would very much like to hear about it.

Bug reports and feature requests

If you encounter any problems while using OPie, or think of useful functionality to add to OPie, use the OPie ticket tracker to get a faster response.

New Features

  • Added [horde] and [alliance] extended conditionals.
  • Added [moving], [have:item name/id], and [ready:spell name/spell id/item name/item id] non-secure conditionals.
  • Added [combo:X], [selfbuff:name], [selfdebuff:name], [buff:name], [debuff:name], [owndebuff:name], and [ownbuff:name] non-secure conditionals.
  • For Paladins, Monks, Shadow Priests, Destruction and Affliction Warlocks, the [combo:X] non-secure conditional checks the relevant alternate power (e.g. chi) instead of combo points.
  • Added #parse metacommand, which causes the following command to have its arguments parsed as secure options.

  • The "Only [Character Name]" option in the "Make this ring available to:" custom ring dropdown will now prevent the ring from appearing for characters of the same name on different realms.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue preventing some equipment set items from displaying correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that caused slices of some faction-specific mounts to appear inconsistently on cold logins.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when a macro contained /stopmacro.
  • Bindings involving the [;] keys are now displayed correctly in the bindings UI.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when using Spade.

    5.2? will it work?

  • #349

The last 5.1 version, Kiwi 6, should continue working on Patch 5.2 clients; you will however need to check the "Load out of date addons" checkbox accessible through the Addons button on the character selection screen to enable the addon.

The next update will be flagged for 5.2, removing the need to bother with that checkbox. It'll be released... soon.

Absolutely love the addon. A friend told me about ths one back in BC days or WoTLK, one of the 2, but i just never felt the need for it. Now that I have rerolled a druid, I have found it to be INvaluable for shapeshift forms. However, when I am in BGs, (obviously) the flight form icon isnt there, but it is replaces with one of my mounts, is there anyway to change which mount is opened by this?

You should edit the macro used for that slice to explicitly refer to your preferred ground mount. The default version of the slice uses {{mount:ground}}, which OPie replaces with the first ground mount it finds in your collection.

Just posting a reply to say that I've used this addon since Curse had it spotlighted on the main page and it has been a GREAT help to me. I use it on each of my characters and it really saves me time in raids.

I wanted to simply say thank you for an amazing addon!

  • #342

I'd like to make a ring for hunter/lock pet abilities, but I don't see pet abilities in the "Abilities" list. I figured I could just make a custom macro for it, but it won't let me shift-click pet abilities into the macro. Help!

  • #343

Type the name of the pet ability you'd like to include in the macro manually.

  • #341

I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to use the per-slice bindings. Can anyone help?

Figured that part out. There is an error with trying to set new per slice bindings, creating a ticket.

This addon-on is gorgeous! Thank you so much for your work! I immediately thought of Crysis when I saw this, and use it similarly (middle mouse button to access 5 different skills) Smile

The only question I have: Is there a way to change the colour of the circular pointer? I couldn't find the option.

EDIT: Found the colour option! This add-on is perfect ;)

How can i gain 4 slots on my action bar: i Download Opie :)

  • #338

Is there a way to move opie from the center of the screen so it appears more where action bars are now, I would like opie to be my only actionbar....

  • #334

Hi I use OmniCC with OPie, I noticed that whenever I open OPie now with OmniCC it doesn't show the numbers on it anymore. Instead it shows a blank area and the space left till the item is ready to be used? What is wrong with it? Is it the new blizzard UI?

  • #335

You need to enable the Numeric cooldowns option found in the Appearance section of /opie options.

(For technical reasons, OmniCC does not actually work with OPie -- it never has. The cooldown numbers you're thinking of are provided by OPie; they've been disabled by default since a recent update added the cooldown spiral to the default skin.)

Just wanted to say, I really like the new spec specific option. As with any new option, it is the duty of us to challenge you to perfect said option. I'm wondering a couple things. First, would it be possible to have this as a checkbox option rather than drop-down? If i want a spell for only 1 spec, as a druid, I have to drop the menu down 4 times (including the general option) to seclude it to my Guardian spec. This would be oh so much simpler with checkboxes, and I could uncheck said boxes.

Secondly, I wonder if it's possible to have a similar option for stances. For this, let me back up a little. I use your addon almost like a bar replacement. I have a separate key for 5 different mini bars (which I use frequently, even though this was intended for rare use) Buffs, CDs, CC, etc. Some spells I only want to use in Cat Form, when i'm in Moonkin spec. (i.e. "Prowl"), but I'd like to use the same ring for my Starfall CD, let's say. Anyway, thought I'd throw those ideas out there, if you're not thinking about them already.

    Thanks for an awesome addon!

The dropdown shouldn't close when you alter its value in Kiwi 4, which should remove most of the excessive clicks in the scenario you describe. The dropdown itself is probably staying for the foreseeable future - I like that it takes up a constant amount of space no matter how many specs your class has.

Things are slowly moving toward allowing conditional slice visibility, but it'll be a while yet before it happens. Until then, you can achieve the same effect by creating multiple variants of a single ring and using conditional bindings to open the right one: for instance, you could bind different rings to the same hotkey depending on which druid form you're in, whether you're in stealth, wheather your target is friendly, etc.
