About Perl Classic Unit Frames

If you like this mod, please vote for it!

What is Perl Classic?
Perl Classic Unit Frames are a complete rewrite of the original mods by Perl. They replace the default Player, Pet, Target, Target of Target, Party, and Party Pet frames and add dedicated frames for many other units (Focus, Focus Target, Party Target, Target of Target of Target). It has been a high priority to maintain the look and feel or the original Perl mods while expanding functionality. The mod has been recoded for performance and is built around the Blizzard UI usage of events.

Q&A
-----
Q: I'm seeing double party buffs for some reason, what gives?
A: 99% of the time this is caused by CT_PartyBuffs. Simply remove the mod and you will return to having one set of party buffs.

Q: I am having massive dead spots for clicking on some of the unit frames, what's wrong?
A: This can be caused by a number of mods, but the most common seems to be CT_MovableParty. Please remove this mod as Perl can be moved without the use of this mod.

Q: The default party frames are showing up with red lightning bolts. What's going on?
A: As of version 1.503 of CT_RaidAssist this should no longer be caused by CTRA. The settings for this are now located in the WoW settings under Interface Options -> Basic -> Raid -> Hide Party Interface.

Q: Do you support ArcaneBar?
A: Yes, it is included in your download of Perl Classic.

Q: Will you be bringing back support for Perl_PlayerBuff?
A: No, there are far better mods for both features and performance.

Q: Where are the raid frames?
A: As of 2.0 I no longer code raid frames for Perl Classic. Luckily, X-Perl's raid frames work great alongside Perl Classic. X-Perl's raid frames (and the unit frames themselves) can be found here: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/xperl.aspx

Q: The scaling is all messed up! What do i do?
A: I recommend setting the scale to that of the UI if you are having issues. Open the options menu via "/perl" or the Black Pearl icon on the minimap and set the scale accordingly under the "All" tab.

Q: I am having an issue not listed in this FAQ, what can I do?
A: First, update *every* mod. I do not support ancient outdated and unmaintained mods. If you have double checked that everything is up to date, post on any of the Perl Classic mod pages and I'll be glad to help you narrow down the issue or give suggestions to help find a solution.

Q: Can you add this feature?
A: I'm sure it's possible, but the primary purpose of this mod is to 'modernize' the original Perl mod so that it doesn't slow your game down.

I'd have another suggestion for the Totem Timers - i LOVE them (they work fine for me) but would love them even more, if I had the options to change the position of the timers (i.e.: I'd love to have them ABOVE the player frame rather than below.

Any chance you could implement the possibility to move make the totem timer moveable on the x- and y-axis?

I have the same issue with the 'totem timers'. Apparently it has never worked. Didn't notice the feature even existed til i played on ptr and saw the lil round icon and wondered why it wasn't live for my own totems/statues. Also, FFA PVP flag icon never shows either for my targets, party or myself. (Gurubashi arena flagging) Also, any way to show this supposed red ! on quest mobs thats supposed to appear? Ive used this mod for so many years, when guildies mention such things im like wtf is that? Sorry for the ramble, im getting caffeine now.

Totem timers: I'll look into it.

FFA: I think i noticed this before and didn't care enough to fix it.  Next time I am bored and in STV, I'll check it out.

Quest !: This is now in version 5.06

Hello Global, playing my monk, I have a problem with displaying the "Jade Serpent Statue". It's at the place where shaman totems are, but the chi bar seems to overlap the statue.

The option "player -> totem timer" helps one time, until a new statue has summoned.

Is it possible to move the totem and/or chi bar? Or to make them movable?

    Would be great  :-)

  • #3868

The totem timer option is actually for Shamans, not Monks.  I'll get a Monk up and running on PTR to test it.

is there a way to display the shields on the health bar (in blue colour prob.) like blizzard's do?

Also i believe there is a bug that when u die and you respawn (hapened to me many times in bgs where the spirit ressurects you) your health bar stays at 0% instead of going 100% and when you get dmged under 100% it shows correctly.

    Thank you.

I don't have any plans to implement the shield'ed health feature right now.  As for the death bug, I haven't encountered it yet, but I will keep my eyes open for it.

    Hi,

I think this is a great addon and I havn't any problems with it until yesterday, when I updated to version 5.04. Now every time i login with a character the Target and Target of Target windows are like unconfigured. Each login i have to go to the options and load it from another character or to reconfigure it. I hope you find a Solution for this problem.

I think it could be somthing wrong with this modification: "Target: ToT positions will save properly now when changing Target options".

edit says: I have also tryed to disable all other addons... the same problem.

    Thank you.

  • #3860

I am having the exact same problem since updating.

  • #3861

    Same here.

Hello. Thank you for this wonderfull addon. I was wondering if there is or u could tell me how to change the portaits icons to class icons. Thank you!

  • #3856

Guys, are you working on an update? Please do! I want my xperl classsic back  :( I can't stand the other version.

  • #3855

Love this addon, been using this for over 6 years now!

What I want to know is whether there is a way to have shortened HP displays. e.g. 12.5M instead of 12,498,324? This has been bothering me for a while but with mists and the enourmous increase in HP size this is really getting annoying. Thanks anyway.
