About Persistence of Chattiness
Normally pressing Enter brings back the last non-numbered chat type, like /g or /s. This addon makes the chat system remember the numbered channels as well, so that once you start talking on (say) channel /7, pressing Enter will default to /7. This is called making those channels sticky.
It's a truly trivial addon, but I wanted it to happen automatically instead of running a /script macro every time I logged in. Claiming credit for this would just be embarassing. :-)
Starting in WoW 3.3.5, whispers became sticky by default. This addon restores old behavior and makes them not sticky. If you would like whispers to again be sticky, then open the POC.lua file in Notepad or Wordpad or whatever, and make the simple change described in the instructions there.
If you do not like the new Friends button stuck to the chat window, this addon can also remove that. Open the file as described above.
The name, of course, is inspired by the famous Dali painting, which is itself named after a phenomenon happening inside your eyes.

ChatTypeInfo["BN_WHISPER"].sticky = nil;
to this addon as well, to make the Real Id whispers non-sticky as well.
I continue to use this little but very great addon !
Thx !
It's conflicting w/Jabber
Edit: Update
Fixed! It was (as I suspected) knocking heads with another one of my 10 million addons - I think it may have been Jabber for FuBar, but at any rate, it works perfectly now. This really is a mod I can't live without.
THANKS :D
Hey there,
I LOVE this mod. Thank you so much for making it available!
I do have a problem, though; it doesnt seem to want to work for me anymore. I just installed the most recent version (20000) and it remains stubbornly nonfunctional.
I do have a lot of other mods installed, but I'm wondering if there's anything I should specifically be looking for? I'm clueless when it comes to troubleshooting mods, so any help would be appreciated. This is one of my favourite mods; I hate playing without it.
Thanks again!
Works for me, and yes, it's great.
I find it ever so slightly ironic that this was one of the things that drove me most insane about chatting in game, so much so that I even considered using an entire UI just because it had sticky channels. Took ages for it to occur to me to look for a mod that might help with that very thing ... and it turns out to be written by you, Farm. Seriously a *facepalm* moment if I ever had one.
That said, THANK YOU. Now I don't have to use that UI, and chatting will be so much less of a pain. I've also sent my friends here. :D
Stil working with WoW 2.0 after changing the toc interface version to 20000.
It works just fine for me and for everybody else I talk to. If you want help figuring out why it's not working for *you*, then you'll need to post with more information besides "it doesn't work".
Could this be fixed to also work for whispers?
Read the other comments.
Oh, I'm sorry. I got it fixed now, thank you!
i love this addon ^^ talking in officers chat is a bitch if you have to do /o all the time :D
I updated the .TOC and enabled "load out of date addons", but no luck
bobllama -- it works for me. Maybe it's conflicting with another one of your mods? Try disabling the rest of your mods and see if it still doesn't work.
