I'll be looking into fixing PBT starting the 25th of oct.

5.3: Blizzard reset some Pet Id's which PetBattle Teams uses to figure out which pets belong to your teams; Because of this some players may have lost some or all of their teams. In the options menu I have added a new option called 'reconstruct teams' when clicked it will attempt to rebuild your teams based on your current pets and the abilities you had previously selected for your teams. This is unlikely even when successful to rebuild your teams 100% as they were but it will hopefully create a good starting point for you to rebuild your teams.

Going forward species Id's will also be saved so if in the future blizzard wipes your pet Ids again that your teams can be rebuilt with more accuracy.

Features:

General:

  • Create an unlimited teams of pets and quickly switch between them in the pet journal.
  • Reliable pet switching even when spammed with requests to change teams.
  • The skills in the tooltip are the saved skill selections
  • The frames location is now saved.
  • Pets are saved to your current team as you make changes, no more hitting save. (This behavior can be disabled by unchecking "Automatically save teams" in the options).
  • Teams can be named, deleted or locked by right clicking the team.
  • Additional options are available from Game Menu -> Interface -> AddOns -> PetBattleTeams

Main Frame:

  • Teams are displayed to the right of your pet journal in the pet battles team frame
  • The star denotes your active team.
  • Swap pets between teams by dragging and dropping! Add pets from the pet journal directly to teams, or swap within your own teams.
  • copy pets by holding shift while dragging the pet to copy it to another team.
  • reorder teams by control - dragging a pet.
  • Displays your pets levels, quality and health, icon at a glance
  • Each pet in a team can be moused over for additional information.
  • The active team is now displayed at the top of the frame.
  • Teams with gold borders are locked by the user.
  • Locked teams cannot be modified.

Slash Commands:

  • use "/pbt reset ui" to reset the UI and re-attach the frame to the pet journal
  • use "/pbt reset teams" to reset your teams
  • use "/pbt lock teams" to lock all existing teams
  • use "/pbt unlock teams" to unlock all existing teams
  • use "/pbt attach" to attach PetBattle Teams to the Pet Journal
  • use "/pbt detach" to detach PetBattle Teams to the Pet Journal
  • use "/pbt lock frame" to lock the PetBattle Teams frame
  • use "/pbt unlock frame" to unlock the PetBattle Teams frame

Usage:

  • Click the pet battle icon in the upper right to access the lock and attachment options
  • Press the + button to create additional teams
  • Right click a team to delete|rename|lock it. There is a confirmation before deleting to prevent accidents.
  • Left click a pet in a pet battle teams frame to make that team the active team.

r32 each pet in a team is tagged with its speciesID
r32 if a petID is no longer valid then from the options menu you can select to reconstruct teams. For each invalid petID, PBT will find the highest level pet of the same species and add it to that team.
r32 removed Import Teams functionality as its no long relevant

    When I take a flying taxi (like wyvern from Org to Thunder Bluff), open the Teams, and select a different Team, my taxi briefly reverses itself, then continues flying to the destination.  Any idea why?  (There's also a clanking sound effect.)  I've also noticed that manipulating teams while taxiing can be flaky, though I don't have a reproducible example for you at the moment.  If I'm flying my own mount, the reversal doesn't happen, nor the sound effect.

    I was able to reproduce the issue pretty easily however the only thing i figured i could disable without wholy disabling team switching did not prevent the switch backs. 

    Oddly when taxiing you can't pick up pets in the defualt UI, so my guess is thats how blizzard got around the issue but they didnt account for addon's calling the function which causes the issue. (the problem function being seting the pet loadout).

    I want

    I want to put teams in group like cooking recipes are puting into groups. I want to move teams between groups.

    I want to create main groups called Spirit Teams, Daily Teams, Lvl 20+, Lvl 15-19, etc... When I click on Spirit Teams then Battle Teams "open" and show the contents in that main group. When I click again, it hide all teams in that main group, like cooking, when I click on Pandaren Cuisine, it hide and show the contents.

    This would have been a great sugestion when I was first working on 3.0.0, however the amount of new code id have to write to incorperate that idea now is bigger than im willing to do at this time.

    Thank you much for writing and maintaining this mod. Best tool available for managing a stable of pets!

    I have a request - It would be nice if the mod remembered the last pet team that character used. I play on a number of alts, and they generally have different teams for their level.. It's annoying to go pet hunting with a lowbie alt, get into combat with a level 10 pet I want to capture, and realize I still have my lvl25 team from my main active.

    Let me start by saying this addon is great and the coding is quite organised and well formatted, thank you for your efforts Nullberri.

    But although I understand that Nulberri would like to keep PetBattle Teams in line with blizzard,

    I myself wanted to do several things different slightly differently:

    One of which was to assign a team "per" toon; So I have added a couple of lines to Nullberris code (posted below) 

    Please remember: I did this for myself and am simply sharing the change. There a few key short falls in this: the main one to keep in mind is Nullberri (as is his right as the Addon developer) has written the addon to be 'global' meaning even with my additions, if you modify a team on one toon it changes on ALL toons.

    So in the lua file \World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\PetBattleTeams\modules\TeamManager.lua

    Locate the "SetSelected" function,eg line that says: function TeamManager:SetSelected(teamIndex)
    In that function under the line  self.db.global.selected = teamIndex

    Paste the following: (the Zanoroy is not to premote myself, simply so I can find the changes I have made, feel free to leave those lines out)

      self.db.global.toons = {}
    end
    self.db.global.toons[UnitName("player")] = teamIndex

    Locate the "OnInitialize" function,eg line that says: function TeamManager:OnInitialize()

    I see how that would be annoying but considering how the game treats pets and the team as a global resource, i feel that at this time it is better to follow along with blizzard and make the current team share globally as well.

    Just updated to the newest version. I logged in and was asked if I wanted to migrate the teams I had already to the new version. Said yes and got the following error. No pet teams were migrated over.

    Reloading should fix the issue as it will overwrite the data which is causing the issue (its reset the enabled bits every reload/relog). I've fixed the bug for the next beta. If your pets did not finish importing you can update to the latest beta  r29 or higher (will be available later) and then reimport your pet teams from the addons->interface->petbattle teams menu..

    Thanks for the fix.When I logged into another character I did notice that it did import all my teams except one with no error, so I just rebuilt that one team. Just updated to the newest version. Thanks for the work you put into this addon.

    Leveling Templates

    What I am trying to do might be possible, but I cannot figure it out. What I want, is to create a set of preset teams for the dailies, such that each team contains 2 pets and an open slot. I typically use those two pets to win the daily battle in question, and slip in a 3rd pet for leveling. 

    However, the closest I have gotten is to create a team with the 'Automatically Save Teams' unchecked which DOES allow me to create a team with a 3rd slot empty, but I cannot figure out how to make it save the pet abilities that I change.

    For instance, say I add pet 1 and pet 2. I change pet 2's abilities. I swap to another team, and then back; pet 2 has not retained that ability change and is set to the default.

    Added in r28. Should be sufficent to do what your asking.

    Setup your team with 3 pets. once their saved in the team frame. right click the pet you don't care about and select remove pet. then lock your team.

    if you want to leave what ever pet is in the missing slot uncheck "Ignore Empty or invalid pets when setting teams" otherwise it will clear the battle slot.

    I see what your saying and the answer is a bit convoluted and maybe ill be able to stream line this in the future but heres the workaround.


    Uncheck automatically save
    Create a new blank team
    make that team the selected team (clearing your current team)
    Check automatically save
    Configure your team the way you want it
    Uncheck automatically save

    I think the easiest way to solve the issue is to simply add a 'delete {petname}" option to the right click menu for the team frame. Then you can just create a team normally, right click delete the pet and then right click lock the team and that should give you what your after. And maybe a setting which says instead of clearing the slot ignore it for empty pets.
