About PetBattle Teams



  • Create an unlimited teams of pets and quickly switch between them in the pet journal.
  • Reliable pet switching even when spammed with requests to change teams.
  • The skills in the tooltip are the saved skill selections
  • The frames location is now saved.
  • Pets are saved to your current team as you make changes, no more hitting save. (This behavior can be disabled by unchecking "Automatically save teams" in the options).
  • Teams can be named, deleted or locked by right clicking the team.
  • Additional options are available from Game Menu -> Interface -> AddOns -> PetBattleTeams

Main Frame:

  • Teams are displayed to the right of your pet journal in the pet battles team frame
  • The star denotes your active team.
  • Swap pets between teams by dragging and dropping! Add pets from the pet journal directly to teams, or swap within your own teams.
  • copy pets by holding shift while dragging the pet to copy it to another team.
  • reorder teams by control - dragging a pet.
  • Displays your pets levels, quality and health, icon at a glance
  • Each pet in a team can be moused over for additional information.
  • The active team is now displayed at the top of the frame.
  • Teams with gold borders are locked by the user.
  • Locked teams cannot be modified.

Slash Commands:

  • use "/pbt reset ui" to reset the UI and re-attach the frame to the pet journal
  • use "/pbt reset teams" to reset your teams
  • use "/pbt lock teams" to lock all existing teams
  • use "/pbt unlock teams" to unlock all existing teams
  • use "/pbt attach" to attach PetBattle Teams to the Pet Journal
  • use "/pbt detach" to detach PetBattle Teams to the Pet Journal
  • use "/pbt lock frame" to lock the PetBattle Teams frame
  • use "/pbt unlock frame" to unlock the PetBattle Teams frame


  • Click the pet battle icon in the upper right to access the lock and attachment options
  • Press the + button to create additional teams
  • Right click a team to delete|rename|lock it. There is a confirmation before deleting to prevent accidents.
  • Left click a pet in a pet battle teams frame to make that team the active team.

r32 each pet in a team is tagged with its speciesID
r32 if a petID is no longer valid then from the options menu you can select to reconstruct teams. For each invalid petID, PBT will find the highest level pet of the same species and add it to that team.

    I can't detach the PetBattle Teams from the Pet Journal anymore, is there a way to do that again..?

    When I use:  "/pbt detach" to detach PetBattle Teams to the Pet Journal, I can move it around, but can't close the Pet Journal. If I close the Pet Journal the PetBattle Team closes aswell.

    I think it was so nice not have to have the Pet Journal open all the time..

    Otherwise love the mod. :)

    if you go back to and older version 3.1.0 the check mack to leave the roster open is there, the down side is its not the most current verison so to run it you would need to put a check mark in "load out of date addons" in the uper right corrner on the addons list.

    Is there any way to copy all my teams setup to another character as i want to level it with pet battle and cba to remake all for other characters

    Teams are shared across accounts. If your trying to access a team from a different account or computer you can copy C:\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<YOUR ACCOUNT NAME>\SavedVariables\PetBattleTeams.lua to a different account folder or computer.

    Absolutely love your mod. Now I can do all the pet dailies without leaving the game to look up anything or read my notes.  

    Many people are probably using this mod for the dailies like I am. It would be helpful to have a "Leveling Pet" slot that anytime a team has only two members, the leveling pet is used as the third.  The ordering of the pets and which slot they're in is important as well since different dailies require an exact ordering of pets and your leveling pet especially now since the master trainers' pets' order is fixed  That's why I suggest always putting it in the empty slot.

    It may actually be sufficient if you just changed a small detail of the switch pet algorithm.  If you are going from a 2 pet team to a different 2 pet team. Whatever pet is in the "?" slot of the "from" team should go into the "?" slot of the "to" team.  Right now you just end up with an empty slot :-)

    I'll see if I can check out the code and submit a patch though I'm not very familiar with WoW add on development.

    I'm enjoying this mod immensely, but I'm having one issue.  If I am using the second row (bottom set) of skills on a pet, they won't save in the team.  For example, I have my Fjord Wolf Pup in one team.  I want him to use "howl", but no matter what I try, it defaults to "crouch" whenever I select that team.  I am having the same issue with Tundra Penguin.  I want "surge" and "slippery ice", but it defaults to "peck" and "frost spit".

    I'm sure there is something obvious I'm missing, and I appreciate your help.

    Do you have automatically save teams checked? or is that team currently locked (has a gold border in the team selection window)?

    The "automatically save team" option wasn't checked.  I clicked that, changed the skill sets, and everything is good now.  Thank you so much!

    Same here. Have to say it was a bit of a shock to see all 12 of my teams gone.

    I fixed it with this:

    /run PetBattleTeams.modules.TeamManager:FixTeams()

    I used that and it...kinda fixed them. It used a random L25 crab instead of the one I had, and in half of the teams it put in a random flier instead of my Moth, but it's a good place to start. Thanks!

    Its not intended to be an end all be all fix, its litterly guessing based on abilities id's what pet you probably had there. first it narrows down the list of possible pets based on the ability id's then from those pets it selects what it thinks is the best pet. IE highest level.

    Same. What happened?! This command restored the first 8, but then ignored the other 20.

    Calls to intersect expect both arguments to be a table, and based on my team data I assumed they would be for everyone. Fixed the bug in the new beta to not assume that is true.
