About Pet Theory
Improves upon the functionality of the PetJournal and information during Pet Battles and while wandering Azeroth.
Features
- Clearly displays rarity for both enemy and friendly pets during Pet Battles
- Shows which rarities and levels of Battle Pets have been captured in their tooltips and in Minimap tooltips.
- Displays rarity color for pets in the PetJournal, and displays rarity for non-wild pets.
- Displays a tooltip when hovering over pets in the PetJournal so you can easily see their passives, pros, and cons, without having to click on them first.
- Allows sorting by name, level, power, speed, health, and type in either ascending or descending order.
- Filter pets by zone.
- Double-click a pet in the PetJournal to summon it.

Hasn't been updated since October 2013, over a year ago.
Should I scratch this addon up to the list of addons who's creators have abandoned them?
I REALLLLLLY love useing this addon. It had made collecting pets sooooo much easier but with the latest patch it has become way obsolete. Please please please update this addon so I can keep useing it without messing up my game play from loading an out of date addon.

hiya torhal this is a great addon and i chose it over pet journal enhanced.
only problem is it really badly needs an update for patch 5.1 there are alot of things that don't work properly now. please please please update it.

Installed this. Pet Journal now blank and unusable. Uninstalled.
I've been keeping my addon updated to the latest alpha release but I'm still having one issue. All of my unknown pets are showing up as Zipao Tiger. It just repeats down the entire list. If I uncheck the promotions source, it will change to some other repeating pet. Is anyone else having this?
All uncollected pets show up as the last pet in the list.

Yep. That's why I just have it disabled until a release build or an updated alpha build is released.
I have an account with multiple characters on it. I use pet theory and love it. However since the update it no longer shows rarity by color in the pet panel where it lists the pets. All except one toon. I have a level 38 shaman which the patch hasn't affected as far as pet theory goes. Why? does anyone know? How can I make it work like that with my other characters on the same account? Specifically with my main? I've checked to make sure that I'm using the same addons on each character, I've made sure everything is the same, but except for that one toon, they all show up as yellow instead of colored according to rarity.

if you go to the project website (wow ace) you'll find a few fixes that gets some stuf sorted, not all though ...
there is a couple updates there now. i wish that curse would get this page updated with the latest info, but i guess as long as i have my updated pet theory, i am happy.

wow ace is the beta site for Curse.
If there's an update on there and not on Curse it means the author hasn't flagged that version as an alpha release. Once he does it gets pushed to Curse automatically
