About Pet Attack

Addon Support Statement

Hello everyone. I'm no longer actively playing World of Warcraft (and haven't for many months). I'm looking for someone to take over maintenance of my addons. If you're interested, and have at least one released addon, send me a message at neotron+curse@gmail.com

Addon Description

Pet Attack shows a message on the screen, warning you if your pet isn't attacking while you're in combat. Useful if you like me run with your pet on passive and forget to tell it to attack. Currently the addon will only function for Hunters, Warlocks, Unholy Death Knights and Frost Mages. It will also show the warning if your pet is dead since a dead pet by definition isn't attacking anything.

    it would be nice if you could move the alert window, also having an option for audio alert for dead pet would be of tremendous help. i also notice this addon prompts a pet is not attacking alert when i dont have a pet summoned

    Simple but awesome addon, but unfortunately it is not supported anymore :( The only downside is that I can't change neither the appearance nor the placement of the message. Can somebody recommend an addon that does the same job? Thanks.

    Hello,

    I have a Problem with this addon.

    Everythings works fine, but when I switch my Pet e.g. from Felguard to Felhunter the addon don´t work anymore. My Felhuner don`t attack but the addon does not give the "Pet is not attacking" warning.

    Is it possible to fix it?

    Please add the possibility to customize the placement and the font size. Good work.

    Does this add-on work on French client ? Because i have no message when my pet is not attacking when I'm in combat and I'm sure the add-on is active.

    I tried to translate the name of the spell in the lua file and tried with the spell ID, but don't work.

    Ok i have found solution, I have change this line :

    function mod:HasPermaPet()
    local _,class = UnitClass("player")
    if class == "WARLOCK" or class == "HUNTER" then
    return true
    elseif class == "MAGE" then
    return not not GetSpellBookItemInfo("31687")
    elseif class == "DEATHKNIGHT" then
    return not not GetSpellBookItemInfo("Scourge Strike")
    end
    return false
    end

    CHANGED TO :

    function mod:HasPermaPet()
    local _,class = UnitClass("player")
    if class == "WARLOCK" or class == "MAGE" then
    return true
    elseif class == "DEATHKNIGHT" then
    return not not GetSpellBookItemInfo("Scourge Strike")
    end
    return false
    end

    Now that's work with mage pet.

    Hi, I really like this mod, but there's one problem with it. If my pet dies in combat, it does not show the warning! This is one of the reasons I was searching for a UI mod with this functionality. I tried playing with the LUA, but I couldn't get it to do what I needed.

    Thanks.

    Nevermind. I edited the mod and did it myself.

    Yes. I use the command /petattack in a macro. With Pet Attack addon loaded, I get an "attempt to call global petattack" error and my pet goes nowhere. When I unloaded the addon, no error and /petattack works again.

    I've fixed this issue - the latest version should be fine.

    Unfortunately, I got a lua error when I used this addon. Appears the name of the addon is "petattack", which conflicts with the command "/petattack".

    How unfortunate! I'll look at fixing this. Did you get the error when using /petattack command?
