About PetEmote
Allows you to send emotes from your combat pet (Hunters, Warlocks, Death Knights, and Mages). Can also automatically perform randomized emotes based on your pet's family.

I love this addon but sadly now I can no longer change my pets genders. /petemote gender female (or reset or male or anything) works. Not sure if this has something to do with the updates or the patch. Just thought I would mention it.
Seconded, cannot reset/change my pets' genders.
It's "/pe gender male" or "/pe gender female" at the moment.
The "/petemote" slash command was removed at some point (not by me) but I'll add it back in the next update.

Thanks for the update! I really enjoy this add-on.
Is there anyway for a player to personally go into this add-on and create new emotes without using LUA?
If not - It would be nice if there were some sort of tool or formatter available to do so - that way players could make some of the emotes more personalized.
I am not exactly an aficionado in regards to add-ons or LUA nor are most players using add-ons.

I believe there is an emote editor program on the Petopia forums somewhere. Send a PM to Varethyn or Ireneus there, she will know where it is.

Hi I have two questions1. For my fel imp, there is this emote that will show up even if I don't have a target " (pet) grins evily as he mocks <no target>". 2. The addon seems to keep running through the same few emotes. But in the lua, I can see a lot of emotes that don't appear.
Any idea how to fix these?
I've had a question running through my mind for a while now, does this addon work with the upgraded warlock minions provided? Or will it just recycle the ones from the previous minions you had?
This addon will work with upgraded Warlock pets and they also have their own separate sets of emotes. :)

As much a cool an idea this addon is for people that want a little more connection with their pet for either immersion or roleplay reasons, it can get a little irksome for at least me, because i dont care for it and all it does is fill up my chat logs, especially so as im on a PvE, not RP server and some individuals like to camp out in major cities just sitting there not going AFK while their pet spams the same three lines over and over.
Perhaps add in a little variance to the timing of the random feature so its not so spammy for people hanging out in popular areas, or a warning in the readme for people to be considerate of those around them... assuming its not just me this is bothering.
I usually end up blocking people for this but id rather not have to because theyre not bad people.
Is there a way I can change the emote from male to female? I'd like my lioness to emote "Kashmire presses HER nose into HER mistress's hand" instead of his.... Is this possible? :)
Yes - you can use the command "/petemote gender female" to do that. :-)
Is there anyway to set the time between emotes?
I just downloaded this addon, and I like it. Only one small problem, whenever my imp(or any of my demons) does an emote it is puts "?" around his name. So it will come up looking like this : Angèl ’s Fel Imp?Ista'tul?gibbers quietly to himself while staring at his mistress. Is there anyway to fix that? Because I would like to keep this addon, but it looks a little silly like that. I went and read the ReadMe that was in the addon folder but it doesn't mention anyway to config anything.
Do you have any sort of font addon installed? Checking the code (I'm the maintainer, not the original author), it appears that the spaces that are placed around a pet's name are non-breaking spaces, which is a special Unicode character. If you're using a font addon, and it doesn't support that character, you'd see a question mark instead.
I don't really see a good reason to use a non-breaking space there instead of a regular space, so I'll change that. In the meantime, if it is because you're using a font addon, you can at least be assured that that's not what other people are seeing, unless they're also using a font addon that doesn't support non-breaking spaces!
I use ElvUI, and that does allow me to change fonts. But its nice to know that others don't see it that way :) unless they of course change fonts.
