Hey there, in the ReadMe file the section on editing our own emotes just says it still has to be written. Any information on when we'll have that? I have a specific set of emotes I use for my hunter pet that I'd like to get back in place. Thanks bunches for bringing this fantastic addon back!
I downloaded this and then tried to disable it because the comments when I loaded up a mount were getting irritating. No luck. Not only is it -still- emoting after being disable but I unistalled it, cleared cache and yep. there it is. Any way to remove it in full?
PetEmote doesn't install differently from any other normal Addon, so deleting the files should have removed it. What's the message that you're getting that you're trying to get rid of?
no message, it just won't completley go away. Every time I summon a mount it pops up one of the clever little sayings, even after I've deleted it. (this after trying to turn it OFF through the command listing)
How do I use it exactly? I know, it's rediculous.. but..
There's a readme file included with the Addon. Take a look through it, and if you still have questions then, ask away!
wondering if there's a simple configuration method to making your toon itself express randomized emotes rather than your pet? i play a feral druid so i figured it'd be fitting :P
I'm getting this poppup error when playing:

The current version of PetEmote is 1.81; you're running 1.73. Blizzard removed the GetNumRaidMembers() function in 5.0 - you need to update to a 5.0-compatible version of PetEmote if you want the error to stop.
so im getting LUA errors when I try to reset a talent saying PetEmote has blocked a function. seeing as im downloading a patch right now I can't login to pull the error text. i use the curse updater but I see that this hasn't been updated since august....when can we see a new release?
I was already planning a new one for in the next couple of days, with CaptWhyNot's fix, the latest emotes from Teigan, and adding /pet as a command as well as /pe.
With regards to taint, I'll look and see if I can find anything, but from what I've been seeing from other addon developers, the Glyph UI is buggy and easily tainted by addons... and doesn't always blame the correct addon. If it happens again, please do put up the error message, though, and if anyone else is getting it, more reports can't hurt.
Thanks!
Glad to see an official update to PetEmote.
This is not really important as the destination parameters do not appear to be used in the combat log event handler, but the source & destination raid flags are missing which would cause subsequent parameters to be offset and mismatched with the assigned names if they were ever used. These flags were added in patch 4.2 of WoW. (See http://www.wowpedia.org/API_COMBAT_LOG_EVENT for more info.) In my copy of PetEmote.lua, I replaced line 376 with the following:
function PetEmote_HandleCombatLogEvent (timestamp, event, hideCaster, sourceGUID, sourceName, sourceFlags, sourceRaidFlags, destGUID, destName, destFlags, destRaidFlags, ...)
I got this error typing out using /pe in SW:

The current version is 1.81; you're on 1.73, which is pre- MoP. GetNumRaidMembers() was replaced by a new API call in MoP, so older versions that have that won't work in MoP.
Hmm... the addon as I got it from Jorna used /pe instead of /pet, but /pet does seem to make more sense. I'll update it to support both.
As for the new demons, Teigan, who coordinates the writing of the actual emotes, is working on an update for that. You can download the current version of her expanded emote files from the first post in the thread on the Petopia boards:
