About PetLeash
PetLeash makes sure that you always have a non-combat pet summoned. It tries to only summon a pet when you are not busy, and can dismiss them when you go into stealth, camouflage or invisibility.
Features:
- Automatically summon a pet when you are not busy.
- Optionally summon a pet only under certain predefined conditions, or dismiss a pet under certain predefined conditions.
- Allows you to configure which pets to use, including by location or with different weighting.
- LibDataBroker launcher to quickly summon pets.
- Randomly summon a different pet on a timer. (Note: This feature can potentially interfere with non-combat pets summoned via other means, such as using the Bloodsail Admiral's Hat)
Commands:
/petleash enable : enable/disable auto-summoning
/petleash togglePet : summon or desummon pet (and switch auto-summoning)
/petleash resummon : summon a new pet
/petleash desummon : desummon pet
/petleash config : show configuration
PetLeash has several key bindings that can be set via the Blizzard Key Binding interface.

Hm, possibly. I should really rethink the way that feature works.
I thought I had already posted here once, but maybe I never hit Post Reply.
In any case, I was wondering if the text could be colored by pet rarity in the selection screen, or if options could be added that select all of a specific rarity, pet family, by current zone, etc. I rename my pets, so I often have no idea which one is which when faced with a huge list of names that I chose at random. lol
In any case, I have been using PetLeash for years, and I plan to continue doing so for many more, either way.
Rarity would probably be pretty easy to do, but I do also need to think about how to make the list easier to navigate in general, yeah.
How do I prevent additions to the pet journal (when learn a new companion to be exact) beeing automatically added to the pet list. It's frustrating to always scroll that huge list and uncheck unwanted entries. Btw. what's the purpose of the checkox "standard" (right of the favorites-checkbox)?
Odd, that checkbox should say Default, and in fact, should do exactly what you are asking for.
I'm still not sure what would cause this strange behavior you see, but I'll take a very close look at the Enable All/Disable All involvement. I know that Default doesn't do anything with pets previously affected by Enable All/Disable All, but I wouldn't think that would have any affect on new pets.
Here we go. Bought a stack of Albino Snakes for extensive testing. None of them were harmed in the process, actually I guess they had some fun. Anyways. New Profile, Default is checked by... well, default. So all companions are checked, too. Unchecked Default, all critters get unchecked, too. Learned an Albino Snake. Nothing happens (that's good). Checked Default, learnt another one, get's added automatically (that's good, too). Basically it comes to the point were even I can't reproduce the problem (that's not so good). It looks like it works as expected now. Odd.
Strange thing is, after further testing and creating new profiles, unchecking Default and unchecking all companions (by deactivate all), and then re-checking Default sometimes automatically checks all pets on that page -- and sometimes none at all. Maybe some script too long kind of problem? (have 456, and 402 unique).
I can't reproduce this at all.
Can you create a new profile, and then, without configuring anything else, click the Default (er, Standard) checkbox and tell me what happens? I expect all the pets should also become unchecked immediately upon unchecking it.
Hm, it seems to work for me. I'll take a closer look tomorrow.
Does'nt work either way. That's why I asked what the "Default" checkbox is meant to do. Because it seems to do nothing.
The default setting is per profile, and being on, means pets are added by default, and off means they are not.
Unfortunately doesn't work. Default turned on. Learned "Grinder" (from item ID 86564) a second time, so I had two Grinders. One Grinder got added automatically. Unchecked it. Put one of them in a pet cage (so I just have one Grinder in my pet journal like before). Now it becomes even more absurd: Logged on another char with a different PetLeash profile and even there (the one) Grinder was added automatically.
It does what you are looking for and nothing else.
I guess I may end up adding a local localization entry instead of trying to rely on the game client's string.
Oh :-) thanks
In fact I guess it actually says "Default" but I'm using a German client ("Standard" = "Default"). Is there any other functionality behind it besides what I'm looking for? If not it may be an option to rename it.
Heya, there is a way to keep the "Rope Pet Leash" up and chek if get off from the pet (so it can be recast)? I know is not a funcion intended by you addon, but i love if should be possible maybe in the future. :)
