About PetTracker
Overview
PetTracker is a tool designed to help all kinds of trainers in their pet tracking and battling duties. Currently, it:
- Displays the locations of all pets on the world map.
- Tracks your progress of catching pets in your current zone.
- Shows the rarity of pets in battle and warns you of upgrades.
- Displays all your enemies and allies abilities as you fight.
- Suggests which is the most appropriate pet for your current enemy.
- And much more, coming soon...

- Updated for patch 5.3: Escalation.
- World map: Introducing Flash Find for pet locations! Now pets can be filtered by name, type, family, source, zones and quality. * Added spanish and portuguese localizations.
- Fixed issue causing World Map pet blips to not update when browsing zones.
- Largely optimized the World Map and Zone Tracker redrawing schedules. This will hopefully fix an issue causing lag spikes between zones and subzones.
- You have asked for it, and here is it: quality glowing borders are back!
- Pet Switcher:
- The speed/power icons were swapped. Fixed.
- Updated for patch 5.2: The Thunder King
- Added new Isle of Thunder and Isle of Giants pets. Elite pets still not on the map.
- World Map:
- Temple of Ahn'Qiraj pets added.
- Added support for the new PetTracker Broker!
- World Map:
- Pets obtainable on raids and dungeons have finaly been added! Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, all is yours to explore!
- Some missing pets have been added (ex: Cogblade Raptor).
- Promotion pets are now ignored and no longer display in the zone tracker nor in the world map.
- Tooltips now scale with the rest of the interface.
- Pet Switcher:
- The enemy actions no longer hide whe the pet switcher is shown.
- Upgrade Alerts:
- Now properly displays over the enemy pet buffs/debufs.
- This new version uses a brand new refurbished pet database. If any pet previously available happens to be missing, please post a ticket and it shall be fixed next version.
- Pets with unexpected ability types are now distinguished on the world map.
- Added partial translations.
- PetTracker now ignores pet locations that are clearly wrong (ie: in the unreachable sea).
- PetTracker now supports instances! (some 5.1 pets are still missing)
- Added new pet locations.
- The world map filter now displays which option is selected.
- The world map button is now bigger when the map is in windowed mode.
- World map filter settings is now remembered between sessions.
- The zone tracker can now also be toggled on the right-button menu dropdown.
- The "Zone Tracker" checkbox no longer overlapps the CollectMe button.
- Fixed type preventing the tracker progress bar from displaying correctly.
- Added TomTom support! Now you can right click on any spot and set a waypoint in TomTom for it.
- Fixed rare visual issue with the tracker progress bar.
- Locations for the new patch 5.1 pets added!
- Several locations of already existing pets added as well.
- Updated for patch 5.1: Landfall!
- The objectives tracker dropdown now has an option for showing or hiding captured pets.
- Added winter pets.
- World map tooltip now displays all pets under the cursor.
- Reduced download size and memory usage.
- The ZoneTracker has been remade from the ground-up:
- The tracker now displays all pet states, instead of only the missing ones.
- The progress bar displays all states as well.
- The source and icon of each specie is now displayed next to each specie name.
- The tracker can now be toggled at the journal, next to the "Find Battle" button.
- The tracker now uses the same database as of the world map, instead of crawling the journal for information. This will result in a much better performance (as crawling the journal is slow) and more precision in the species displayed, as the journal is not always correct. Yet, the biggest advantage is that now the pet display is fully controlled by the addon, which will allow it to be improved as the pet locations display is enhanced.
- The improved pet switcher and wild upgrade alerts are now optional features!
- If user reaction is positive, more features might become optional in the future.
- Upgrade Alerts no longer show in non-wild battles.
- The PetSwitcher now works with ElvUI.
- Enemy pet actions no longer are hidden for one turn after switching pets.
- Released wild upgrade alerts!
- PetSwitcher:
- Ability types are now displayed next to ability buttons.
- No longer can be closed after the player pet has died (because could not be opened again).
- World Map:
- The "On/off" switcher state is now recorded between sessions.

- Reduced the number of points in too cluttered zones.
- Improved database size - now 3 times smaller.

- Added experience bar
- Pet tooltips are now displayed when hovering pet icons.
- Type tooltips are now displayed when hovering type icons.

This is a major priority, and the next major version will feature in'game tutorials explaining the syntax and every quirk of the addon. An in'game options panel will follow.
The filters not saving and not working on every locale is actively being worked on. A new version will be available between today and the day after tomorrow.

The new pet filter on the world map is not saving. If I log out or even just reload ui, it goes back to the default of showing all. I always keep my map showing 'Not Maximized', but now I have to select that every login.
Filter doesn't work in 5.3.0
Choose "Not maximized" in the combo box and all pet disappear from the map (even if i have some pet to find)
Revert to 5.2.3 and all work fine
My filters seems to work well... Perhaps try to delete old LUA files in your WTF folder ?
I've seen the drop down box bellow the map the first time. All i want to retrieve is the way to quickly switch on/off the tracker.
When I questing, I don't like to keep all pets icons on the map.
In the 5.3 only two basic options are available : "missing" and "not optimized". I think it could be fine to get "all" and "none".... ?

To have no pets showing at all, type "no".
No pet markers showing at all using 5.3 version of mapster. Was working fine prior.
update fixed it: I went into my wow folder and deleted all pet tracker settings from both interface and wtf, then reinstalled it. Now the filder search is working fine :) cheers
Could we get a list of key words for the filter? Eg: what do I type to show none and does it remember this on relog?

Could you please add the button back in. This seach box at the bottom conficlits with other addons as well as it does not work right.
Is it possible to remove the battle pet tracking bar at quest tracking area?

Enter "Miss" or "Missing" to show missing pets.
Enter "Not Maximized" to show not maximized pets.
Although you should just have to click the filter box to bring up a "Common Searches" dropdown containing both options.
I was having trouble with the filter box not working right and disappearing on me yesterday, but it turned out to be an issue with Mapster. A new version came out today which fixes the issues.
I have the same problem, version 5.2.3 is better than 5.3 :C

It worked, I was just typing "not" and everything disappeared on map and thought it must just filtered names. The whole phrase works :).

If you type "miss" or "missing" into the filter, it shows only pets, you do not have. The localized default search does not work. In german it is called "fehlt", but it wont show anything. How "not maximized" could be done right now, i have not figured out. :/
