About PhanxChat
PhanxChat removes chat frame clutter and adds some functionality.
- Shortens chat channel names
- Shortens cross-realm and Real ID player names
- Replaces Real ID player names with WoW character names
- Enables arrow keys without the Alt key
- Enables resizing chat frames by their edges
- Enables sticky behavior for all channels
- Makes URLs clickable for easy copying
- Moves the input box above the chat frame
- Sets the delay time for chat text fading
- Stops docked chat tabs from being dragged
- Hides the scroll, menu, and social buttons
- Hides extra textures on chat frames
- Hides the flashing effect on chat tabs
- Hides channel notification messages
- Hides repeated messages in public channels
Usage
- Type “/pchat” for options, or find them in the Interface Options.
- Type “/pchat clear” to clear all chat windows.
- Type “/tt" or “/wt” to send a whisper to your current target.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I click on chat tabs when the Move Edit Box option is enabled?
Since WoW 3.3.5, the edit box remains clickable even when hidden. Disable this behavior by setting the Chat Style option to “Classic” under Interface Options > Game > Social.
What are “sticky” channels?
If a channel is sticky, then after you type into it, the edit box will open to the same chat type again, rather than making you type “/g” or “/ra” again.

PhanxChat is compatible with English, Deutsch (deDE), Español (esES/esMX), Français (frFR), Português (ptBR), Русский (ruRU), 한국어 (koKR), 简体中文 (zhCN), and 正體中文 (zhTW) game clients.
PhanxChat is translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Português, Русский, 한국어, and 简体中文. To add or update translations, please use the localization system. Thanks!

Bug Reports
If you encounter a problem with PhanxChat, please submit a bug report ticket with the following information:
- Addon version (ex: 4.0.1.11)
- WoW client version and locale (ex: 4.0.1 enUS)
- Description of the problem
- Steps to reproduce the problem
- Whether the problem occurs when all other addons are disabled
- Exact text of any related error messages (without lists of local variables or installed addons, please!)
- Screenshot, if the problem is graphical
