About Phlebotomiser

This project started as an update to Feral By Night. I have been using that addon for quite a while and really liked certain aspects. In refactoring and updating the code for Cataclysm, I ended up deciding to start from scratch and build a similar addon, without the cruft that I don't use and with a focus on performance and maintainability.


  • Super Low cpu utilization
  • Shared buff/debff frame which displays the status of Berserk, Survival Instincts, Barkskin, Faerie Fire and Skull Bash
  • Cat Frame which displays Mangle( and Hemorhage/trauma), Rake, Rip (including glyph of shred support) on the current target as well as Savage Roar and Tiger's Fury. The timers on Rake and Rip disappear after the last tick, and go transparent when the debuff actually falls off.
  • Bear Frame which displays Mangle (including Berserk Proc), Pulverize(if talented), Lacerate, Maul, Swipe, Demoralizing Roar, Growl and Enrage
  • Proc frame which shows supported procs (and internal cooldowns when known)
  • Frames can be moved and disabled out of combat and per spec
  • Suggester Frame which shows the best* action to take, with projected future actions. If the current action is a combo point generating move, the top right icon will be the next action on a non-crit, and the bottom right will be the next action on a crit. If the current action is not a cp generating move, then the bottom will be the next action 1 GCD after the top action
  • Left side of the suggester frame shows charges/interrupts and cower when useable.



The suggester frame is using a modified version of the Mew default script. There are probably some unintentional changes fromt eh mew script along with the intentional ones:

  • Latency is taken in to account in some places, but the support is a work in progress.
  • The window to use Ravage after a charge is larger
  • Savage Roar suggestion does take in to account combo points on dead enemies.
  • Any time Tiger's Fury is available and you don't have enough energy for the suggested move, it will suggest Tiger's Fury instead.
  • The timers on Rip/Rake count down to the last dot, but stay lit until the debuff falls off.


The bear suggester is pretty basic right now. The priority is FFF>Mangle>Thrash>Swipe>Laceratex3>Pulverize>Demoralizing Roar>Burn rage on lacerate.

  • Pulverize is only suggested if talented. Will show on the left side of the suggester frame if you have lacerate up and no pulverize buff.
  • Growl will be suggested if you are not tanking your target.
  • Demoralizing Roar is only suggested for boss targets and targets 3 or more levels higher than you.
  • Berserk proc is supported.

Known Problems

  • When mobs despawn the shredded rip counter is left until a new rip is applied

Fixed Shred extensions when refreshing Rip with Bite.
Suggester background transparency can be modified
Show Maul when above rage threshold (configurable).

Fixed the problem with the proc frames getting messed up when you zone.
Removed Swipe(Bear Form) from the suggester.

    Bug: the proc monitor keeps reverting position to the default.

    Request: the ability to turn off the proc monitor.

    I think the latest beta finally fixes this problem. I haven't been able to test it in raid yet, but I think it should be good.

    UI Also disappearing on Nef and Council. Didn't try the powershift method as I've just visited after raid.

    I've not test 1.1.42 yet but i've notice that Ui disappear on Halfus, Concil, Chimaeron and Onyxia at the start of Nefarian fight.

    I don't really know what is causing that problem. I put in some code to recover (hopefully) if it does happen, but since I can't reliably reproduce it, I am not sure if it works or not yet. As mentioned below, powershifting does work to reset it on the older versions.

    If you do see it with 1.1.42, you can do /pb d which will save your the current state to your saved variables file which might give me the info I need to figure out what happened.

    1.1.42 works fine, i have test on all boss of BWD and the ui never disappeared. Great job :)

    The problem would happen with other druids in the raid shifting forms. The latest beta should be fixed.

    any plans to add a cooldown bar to this instead of icons with numbers within them?

    I prefer a visual line crawling down than reading numbers for peripheral vision.

    No plans. I do kind of like event horizon style bars (length=time not %) and would probably go that route if I were to do anything.

    Great addon, thank you for your effort.
    I'd love to see more flexibility in cooldown monitor, like:
    - turning on/off timers (I`m using OmnicCC so i`m getting it twice)
    - turning on/off specific frames(pointed earlier)

    Thx for thie upgrade of FBN.
    Since 1.1.37 suggester and cooldown timers sometimes disappear during a long fight.
    I tried 1.1.39 but it give me the same.
    So i play with 1.1.35. Any idea of the reason why ?

    I know there is a problem if a mob goes from friendly to hostile (Drakes on Halfus). Retargeting fixes the problem here. I need to see if there is a message I can listed for to detect when this happens. I have seen the suggester go away a couple times on Atramedes during the air phase and I am not sure what is causing that, but I am looking into it. Powershifting seems to reset the suggester when this happens.

    I haven seen the cooldown timers disappear. Are there specific fights which are causing the problem? Do they still disappear if you have "Show out of combat" turned on?

    I put again the 1.1.39 build and dont notice bugs except on concil the interface disappear but a powershifting fixed it.

    I have put in a fix which should fix the problem, though I am not sure why it is happening in the first place.
