About PitBull Unit Frames 4.0

PitBull4 is a continuation of PitBull.

Differences from PitBull 3:

  • It's mostly done, but not entirely done thus why there are still only betas (despite this it is still very stable).
  • Documentation is written before functions
  • Much easier for third-party extensions.
  • Options will be much, much simpler. In 3.0, there's about 200 panels that you can mess with, it's overwhelming. I want to bring this down to somewhere around 10.
    • Layouts are defined deterministically and unit groups use the layout rather than ad-hoc layouts on a per-unit basis. This will make setting up your unit frames far, far easier.
    • Due to some decisions made, 4.0 is actually more configurable than 3.0. As a layout designer, you will have a lot more control over how things look. You can have different fonts on the same frame, different textures, more precise positioning, and a whole slough of other things.
  • CPU Efficiency will be taken much more seriously.
  • It uses Ace3 instead of Rock.

    Hey
    I love this mod but I have only two problems with it :(
    One is the focus, I cant seem to use focus anymore as a popup from Blizzard shows saying to disable or ignore the mod. Is there any fixes for this?
    The other is I need help getting my party frames back when I am in a raid. I seem to have disabled it somehow. The party frames show when in a 5-main but as soon as I am in a raid, the frames just disappear :(
    any help would be grateful.

    The focus menu problem is something we really have no solution to. It's the same with all unit frame addons. beta2 has removed the menu and replaced it with text telling you to use the /focus command to set your focus.

    Groups, go to Current group Party (or whatever your Party group is named) and make sure the raid options are checked under Show when in.

    So now I've seen the debuff filter feature and Meta filters o.O... which is just sick by the way. I would like request aura filtering capabilities for talent spec number (GetActiveTalentGroup) and the ability to show a buff icon when it is missing.

    I tried timeleft = 0 and count = 0 for missing buffs but it doesn't work.

    Example: When I'm specd ret which is my 2nd talent group I want to show seal of blood if I don't have it.

    Open a ticket for the talent spec stuff I'll consider adding it. I'd recommend that you use a text (LuaText, DogTag) to show stuff that's missing rather than the Aura system. It's highly unlikely I'll ever make it show things that are missing. If you visit the thread on the wowace forums (linked above) or the LuaTexts thread on eltitistjerks.com (UI forum) you should find examples how to do this and/or help.

    Hi I am having problems whith the fact that I don't seem to be able to bring up any group options i.e. leave group change loot rules etc. Possibly I am missing something major here but any help would be much appreciated.

    Hmm, right click menu works here. You don't have an addon like Clique blocking the right click menu or reassigning it to some other click binding.

    No not that I know of. When I disable pitbull4 everything works normally again.

    Would it be safe to switch to PB4 right now? I'd assume 3 wouldn't be getting many if any updates anymore and all focus is on PB4. I mean i'm currently having no issues with PB3 and would be a sad panda if I've switched and got issues then :[

    I've been using PB4 for awhile and have had no issues. You're going to have to set up you frames all over again, but it's far far easier (and much more configurable) this time around.

    Yeah been messing around with them for a few minutes now on the PTR. I've noticed i still have the auras in the top right by my minimap... Anyone know how can i get rid of them using pb4? or is this maybe a 3.2 bug? and zomg the options windows again :[ /cry the global settings are something that's going to take a bit to get used to

    Recently updated to this over the older PB3 and am, thus far, very pleased. It did take me a while to figure out how to configure everything, and I'm sure there is still more for me to learn. I do have a question currently concerning the target buffs/debuffs. I can't seem to get any tool tips for different buffs/debuffs on the unit frames, is this possible?
