About FuBar_PortalFu

NOTICE:

This project has been frozen. Which means, it will be updated for upcoming patches, but it won't get any new features. If you want the same addon with support for items, then check out Broker_Portals. That is lightweight version of this addon, which is supported by much more "display bar" addons than Fubar. If you still want to use Fubar, then please use Broker_Portals together with Broker2Fubar. If you want to know more about the Broker prefix, make sure to checkout this post. Don't be scared and switch over to be one of the cool kids again and let this addon fall into oblivion.



Features:

  1. All mage portals and hearthstone available from simple dropdown menu
  2. Hearthstone location and cooldown in tooltip
  3. Reagent count in tooltip

Localization:

If you'd like to add/update localizations, do so here. Then leave a comment here on CurseForge or on Curse as I'm checking those more often than localization app itself, and I'll repack it.

FAQ:

  • I managed to hide my minimap icon, how do I turn it on again?
    • Just simply type "/portalfu".
  • I managed to disable the addon, how do I turn it on again?
    • You have to enable it in FuBars options.
  • I'm not using FuBar, is it possible to use this addon without it?
    • You can't use exactly this version, but here you can find the same addon, that works as standalone or as a plugin for TitanPanel or any other LDB display addon.
  • Will it ever support teleportation items like engineering teleports?
    • No.
  • Where can I post errors and problems with this addon?

    Unfortunately I cannot fix the problem with Tol Barad portals as its a problem in some underlying library this addon uses. I recommend switching to Broker_Portals addon, where it works without any issues. For more info please see description of this addon.

    hi, i downloaded the update this morning ... it shows up in the addon menu before i log in, but is no listed as an option in game ... love the addon, but going back to the previous version for the mean time

    Kisaku: Hi, I've just released a new version with Tol Barad portals. As for the secodn thing, I don't plan on adding this feature, but its not exactly easy, so sorry, cant really give you a hint there.

    I managed to add the Teleport and Portal spells for Tol Barad in the 'FuBar_GuildFu.lua', but if I click on one of these, the spell icon is not shown.
    Any ideas where to fix this?
    cast the spell which is currently shown in the FuBar. I have to add some lines, like this somehow:
    function PortalFu:OnClick()
    **but what to code here??**

    smtips: Do you have FuBar installed? Did you try to turn off all your addons and run the game with just this one and FuBar enabled? As you can see, noone else has this problem, so it must be something on your side, might be conflict with another addon.

    Useful tips? Reacts to no clicks. drops a menu down and all items in the menu do absolutely nothing when clicked on.

    Is that enough useful information? Only thing it does is puts a menu there. All the good it is is that it lets me view how many runes I have for a portal or teleport.

    DohNotAgain: Personally I use Bazooka, because you can make it look and behave exactly like Fubar. It's very young addon tho, so the configuration takes bit more time. But if you're patient, then you'll love the results :)

    blivrail: maybe this is connected with issues that Fubar had with 3.3 patch, but it should be already fixed in latest Fubar. I don't run Fubar anymore, so cant help you with it, but with Broker2Fubar this addon works. So the problem must be elsewhere.

    Does not seem to work for me, however Broker Portals works just fine with the Broker2Fubar addon.

    Yes, this happens to me too. Specifically, right-clicking does not open the menu so the addon is not useful.

    If you want support for teleportation items, then switch over to http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/broker-portals.aspx. This addon will be fixed for upcoming patches, but no new features will be added. If you don't want to switch from Fubar to any of the better "display bar" addons out there and still want the item support, you can use the already mentioned addon together with http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/broker2fubar.aspx.

    So far I have not found a "better display bar addon" to switch too.
    Please, tell us the names of some of those better bars that do all that Fubar does. It's not better if it doesn't at least do what Fubar does.

    Note: If it does not allow placing the plugin on the minimap do not list it because it does not do all that Fubar does.

    I would love to use a "better" bar mod, but so far none of the LDB replacements truly replace Fubar's functionality for me. And apparently I'm not the only one since so many are still refusing to change.
