About Prat 3.0
Prat-3.0 is a chat enhancement addon for world of warcraft 3.0.
It is made up of 30+ smaller "modules" which each provide additional functionality, and can be enabled or disabled individually.
In game, type /prat for a menu.

Prat has just about every feature you can think of, and then some. Really. When I get some more time, I'll try and put together a full list (Even I have lost count)
(Thanks to Dreamsight for this partial list)
- Change arrows, buttons, mouse scroll for chat scroll, scroll speed
- you can add color per channel, color per lvl, color per class
- timestamps
- timestamp color
- whether to show timestamp (what format the timestamp should be in)
- whether to show players lvl
- you can select the option for channel "stickys" (last channel you used you auto use when hitting enter, that sort of thing – or last thing someone said)
- change the looks of the chat's editbox - as well as where it appears (you can even undock it and move it to where you'd like it to be)
- chat fading, fading delay
- You can change the font to a list of fonts, add an outline to it, monochrome it (if you don’t mind messing with files a bit you could prolly even add other fonts to that list)
- change the chat frame/chat box appearance
- set Chat history
- set channel abbreviations
- set brackets and color(or something instead of brackets)round player/lvl
- alt invite option (press keyboard “alt” button and click on the player’s name to auto inv them)
- raid icon
- invite links
- info keeping
- url copying
- full chat copying + options (html, bbcode, plain, forum) + copy button
- allows pop-up msgs
- enables tell target /tt
- Alias options
- altnames options
- you can enable/disable all prat modules - dont have to have the ones you dont use running
- change chat sounds (incoming and outgoing as well as per channel)
Its predecessor, Prat-2.0 has been around since the TBC release in 2006. This new version seeks to improve upon some aspects such as memory use, but still do so without creating 30+ small folders in your addon directory that you have to manage.
While trying to reduce resource utilization, it is also important to note that some people prefer the features, and don't care that an addon uses 500k more. I have been trying to isolate the most resource intensive functionality into the Prat_HighCPUUSageModules folder. You can enable or disable it per your preference.

How do you remove the number beside the server name when they type in chat ex. PlayerName-Server:2??
hey i was wondering if you had a way of filtering out the "talent change" garbage that always pops up when you swap spec. its really annoying, its like a current chat clear.
Does prat have a feature to where you can make it hide itself while in combat?
Is there any way to move the whole chat box? I tried it with bartender4 but I couldn't :(
I would like to know when I move a Whisper to a new window for the whispers to display in that window along with moving the chat editbox on the Whisper window to display on top?
I have 2 characters with the same name I have had for at least a year on different realms. They were part of the merger realms so technically I have the same toon name (one on each of the merged servers). For some reason there are inconsistencies showing for each toon at different times. Sometimes the names will show class color and level opposite of each other, and other times it shows correct class color and level with with the opposite realm name listed, like it's confused which realm I am on. I have tried deleting some files in WTF, I uninstalled/reinstalled and nothing is fixing this. Any suggestions?
Hi.
I like to have my /g window separated from my other chat windows, but depending on what window the focus is, the input bar moves. Is it possible to stick it to a specific window?
Thanks
With the new update, I get this error over and over. Any Ideas? I use ElvUI but I have the chat functions for that disabled.

Hey!
It is possible to return icon that indicated people from remote chat?
Hey, great addon. But i seem to have an issue when raiding with people from different realms, i constantly get a system info message saying "There is no player named " " currently playing" or something along those lines. It can be quite frustrating as its spammed quite a bit and it will say it for each player from a different realm.
Actually this is probably not Prat, but recount. If "/recount sync" (which should change your setting to "Lazy Sync disabled") makes the 'There is no player named...' spam stop, then Recount is your culprit.
There's reports that Altoholic (or actually a dependency of it) also has this problem for guild members from merged servers, but that's probably not the problem you're describing.
@Rubio9
Thank you, this finally sorted my issue.
Type "/prat" Go to the "Chat Formatting" tab, Select "ServerNames" from left pane, uncheck "Auto-abbreviate"
Edit: still seems to occur, but far less
Hi great addon Ive used it for ages now!
Is there a way to turn it off so that I cant accidentally hit my arrorw keys and paste seomthing I wrote a previous time? Its highly frustrating on this new keyboard to keep posting pesonal whisper lines in other channels. Cant find it if so.
hey, years ago, we used to have the ability to change the width of the free-floating editbox. would it be possible to add that functionality back in?
