I also added debugging messages to the intial find target cast. Should be helpful to track down targeting bugs

    Don't forget

/pom debug on /pom debug off

  • #41

Okay well I got 1.53 up and all raid/targeting issues should be resolved,.

I'm still not happy with it, it still seems to bug out once in a while and not track properly, and it seems to happen mainly with bear or cat form druids. I look at the combat log and it seems to be all screwy, like the buff fading off a bear druid before it actually heals him...screwing up the tracking, and it is blizz fault not mine lol. I am going to look into the the UnitBuff() API function to see if I can get some more accurate tracking as a failsafe for when the combat events don't work right.

  • #40

Raid events do in fact fire under different events, I have corrected that in my test build but I am still having the targeting issues, seems UnitInRaid("target") doesn't seem to work. it should == 1 if the person is in your raid group, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm still under the hood poking at this...hopefully i'll get it worked out before tonight and post the new version.

  • #39

I'll run the debug next time we go to Kara and see if I can be of some help. Thanks for the continued work, its an awesome addon nonetheless.

  • #38

hmm, I wonder if raid members getting healed fire under a different event. Did you guys happen to run /pom debug on just to see what targets were being set? I'll look into this

i have also noticed a little bug that once once the buff jumps to someone else, and you recast it on the same person to refresh charges to 5, it goes to no target, however once that person loses buff it tracks normally, so it's just a visual thing. I think I know whats wrong but I need to test that with other people.

@Jimmerz28 There are still some targeting issues if you don't have the actual target targeted. It seems the "mouseover" targeting stuff I added really doesn't work that well. I have noticed if I have a dead npc corpse and have self cast off, and click the buff on someone in my party window, it will say my name as well. I've been thinking of a different way to go about doing it.

  • #37

Same as Apophus. I didn't have the chance to test it in a pure 5man group, but it seems there are no more problems. But in 10man raid yesterday I noticed, when I cast pom on someone in my group, and it only jumps in my group, pom-tracker works correctly. When casting pom on someone in the other group, there's no tracking at all. The tracker just says, that it's either on me or on the one I casted on (seems random).

  • #36

In a 10 man raid environment with a priest in each group I show the first charge on my target, after that it is lost. no timer, no jump to raid members, in my group or in the other group. Just thought I'd throw it out there for when you work ont he raid components.

  • #35

I downloaded 1.5 but still not updating after the first cast and most of the time it just says me as the target and sits there. It worked previously in the raid, I'm the only priest so there's no overlap that would be messing it up.

  • #34

Workign fine now with 1.5....Thanks for a great mod

  • #33

I got 1.5 up and it seems to be working alright. Although it is pretty late. I figured I would post this before I goto bed so I could find reports of any problems when I wake up :p

Let me know how it goes.

  • #32

i logged back in tonight and it was working like it should. so i dunno what happened between last night and tonight. ill try the new version you put out.

  • #31

Okay guys, I fixed the problem with the pet buffs in version 1.45 along with a few other small changes. I hope this is finnaly working as it should now. 1.5 Should be the last version with the timer bar.

@Kamikaze-ente Yes it does read the chat events and you do have to be in range, but it is a pretty long range, if you are in range to cast the spell you will get the chat message.

Are the pom1 - pom4 variables matching the the event text you see when it heals? You should check your combat log

Right now for English it finds 4 events You gain Prayer of Mending. (should be pom1) Deramon gains Prayer of Mending. (should be pom2) Prayer of Mending heals you for 1295. (should be pom3) Prayer of Mending heals Deramon for 1295. (should be pom3) Prayer of Mending fades from you. (should be pom4) Prayer of Mending fades from Deramon. (should be pom4)

I am wondering if the problem has something to do with the translation differences between pom3 and pom4 because in english pom3 or 4 can be both "you" or "Deramon" in my example. But that may not be the case in your language?

Tell me what your combat log says for all 6 of those events and I should be able to make the mod work for you.

Send me a PM here on Curse and we can maybe arrange an IM session so we can work together on this?

  • #30

Okay, I tried your new version 1.4... still it doesn't work.

Then I added the German spell name in line 62 of pomtracker.lua:

if (arg2 == "Prayer of Mending" or "Gebet der Besserung") then

Now the spell was recognized after casting. But still no switch after hits.

Okay step two, I added in the localisation.lua:

if ( GetLocale() == "deDE" ) then pom1 = "(.+) bekommt 'Gebet der Besserung'."; pom2 = "(.+) bekommt 'Gebet der Besserung'."; pom3 = "(.+)'s Gebet der Besserung heilt (.+) um (.+) Punkte."; pom4 = "'Gebet der Besserung' schwindet von (.+)."; pomlasttarget = "Kein Ziel"; pomcleartarget = "Kein Ziel"; pomself = "Ihr"; end

Now the message switched, but with a long delay and after it faded the last target was still in the box or just my name. Also the counter was constantly showing 5 and I got the following error message: Interface/Addons/PoMTracker/PoMTracker.lua: 90: attempt to perform arithmetic on global 'pomhealed' (a string value)

And I'm not sure... but the addon seems to read the combat text, but if you're not in range it seems to me that it doesn't recognize the buff. Isn't it possible to read out the buffs of the group members to check for the buff?

  • #29

hrmm...I wonder if pet messages fire under a different event...im gonna have to check that.

  • #28

I've got the same Problem as Kizinator. As soon as PoM jumps to a Pet, the tracking stops. The Pet will be shown, but no one thereafter. Otherwise - keep up the good work,it is much appreciated :)
