About Preform AV Enabler

A Note Regarding the 2.7x Versions

The 2.7x versions floating around are NOT official updates by the original author of this addon (me) and contain code I deem unacceptable to use. 3.04 is the official latest release of this software. You use unauthorized and illegal hacks of my work at your own risk. Do not ask me anything concerning any 2.7x version.

Addon Purpose

Preform AV Enabler allows the group/raid leader to solo queue everybody in the raid group simultaneously with a button press and to see the queue status of everyone with this addon installed for the purpose of increasing the chance of the raid getting into the same battleground.

To use, open a battlemaster window and click the Preform AV Enabler button, type /preformav, or click "Preform" on the menu that appears when right clicking the minimap battleground icon.

Version 3.04:

  • Numerous bug fixes
  • A column compaction feature has been added, and is on by default. To turn it off (or back on) type /preformav autocompact at the command line.

Version 3.03:

  • Localizations added for the new battlegrounds (untested however, some may be incorrect)
  • Should no longer conflict with the glyph UI (hopefully; it was not happening on my client)

Version 3.02:

  • Mists compatibility

Version 3.01:

  • Lots of bug fixes

Version 3.0:

  • Timers now displayed in queue status columns. The greener the color, the closer that player is to the average time.
  • Info column displaying role, resilience, and ilevel
  • Class colored player names
  • New command line options. Type /preformav ? for a list
  • Variable window update time
  • Popups altered to help prevent accidental zoning in
  • 2.x users will not be able to see the status of 3.x users, but are still controllable by the raid leader
  • French translation fix
  • Much of the base addon code refactored

Version 2.66:

  • esMX localization added and ptBR localization updated

Version 2.65:

  • WoW 4.3 Compatibility
  • ptBR Localizations added

Version 2.64:

  • toc interface number updated to 40200

Version 2.63:

  • 4.1 compatibility

Version 2.62:

  • French, German, and Spanish translations for new BGs

Version 2.61:

  • Russian translations for new BGs added
  • The button to open the Preform window is once again on the battleground selection window

Version 2.6:

  • Twin Peaks and Battle for Gilneas added
  • Number of instances total removed due to Blizzard removing that function
  • Battlemaster window status removed as they no longer exist

Will your 2.0 version be backwards compatible with 1.2x

  • #201

Somebody do me a favor and take a screenshot of the 2.0 version's status window with a large raid and send it to me for use as the addon's screenshot here. I could make a fake one, but I'm lazy. I haven't been doing large BG raids lately. The screenshot would preferably show as many different status conditions as possible (i.e. show people queued, inside, maybe somebody offline or deserter, etc.)

Say hi to me sometime! (o:

Torrid, I registered on this site to tell you that I love this mod. It is one of my favorites for use in casual PVP. My guild is a PVP/fishing guild on Deathwing, and with 2.4 our premades are dying. We never dodged a fight with another premade, and we hate PVPIng with PuGs (they don't care if they win and they don't try at all).

Thank you so much for updating this mod. I know my guild will be using it this weekend.

  • #220

This is done correctly and with good reason. The steamroller ripoff I tired combined windows, and as a raid leader, it was bloody damn annoying.

  • #206

Because you can queue for three battlegrounds at a time, it makes sense to show them all. The entire point to using the addon is to stomp pugs with premades. Everybody claims otherwise, but they really know better. Regardless, being able to see the entire queue status of everybody has other uses, such as the raid leader leaving the queues of battlegrounds they don't intend to join, or to see the status of somebody you add to the raid if they are inside a bg you don't have selected.

  • #203

I'm not critizing your redone UI, it is defenetly prettier than the old one, i just don't understand A) having seperate queue buttons for each BG and B) having seperate queue windows for each BG. I'm just wondering if i'm missing some function.

Currently, the way i am seeing it, you seem to have made it easier to multiqueue premades for multiple battlegrounds. Which almost seems like you've made it easier for premades to dodge other premades (which before you seemed to be against this behavior).

heh on Dark Iron it's essentially expected that everyone who has any interest in doing /trade channel orgs have it

  • #207

Well, I play the game at 1024x768 resolution, and it only becomes a problem for me when the raid size grows past 35. I'm not sure why you would care if it does take up half the screen, as you don't intend to fight with the window up? I suppose I could add a column hiding feature if there were enough interest.

Regarding those group forming addons-- If they work, I'm not sure why that functionality would need to be incorporated into my addon when apparently not one but two addons do the job? (I've not used them)

  • #204

Torrid, Nice work on the update. A few recomendations though

1: New addon frame is way to big, especially if running AV premades (covers half the screen at 1140X900 res), an ability to turn off the columns for BG's you are not interested in would be very much appreciated
2: Ability to reduce the transparency, can be hard to read details if alot going on under the frame
3: As someone mentioned below, incorportating something like Battleground Raid Adjust or AV Raid Restore ( would be nice

Will try to get you a screenshot of a full group this av weekend, otherwise keep up the nice work

  • #221

This is a pretty good idea. I vote for it.

I run pug AV's. I don't care if my people are in greens and blues, we still win. My win rates being somewhere about 95%. (last I counted marked in the mail box I was 45 wins 0 losses)

The short of it is... People on deathwing have this mod, it's very common. I can also pick up a pug group of 30 people or so in about 15 minutes and start winning. Because there are a lot of people running this, it would be great if I had a way of tracking healers(actually talent point specs) and more geared players.

It would be best if this was built into the mod, or packaged with it. Otherwise it becomes difficult to get people using it.

  • #223

Actually Torrid, I see something like this in trade all the time:"LFM AV PREMADE--MUST HAVE ENABLER".

  • #210

Well, I suppose I don't have a problem with it, so long as it requires my addon installed to function and isn't merely a copy with alterations.

Although I would think that raid leaders would ask somebody's resilience and spec prior to granting a raid invite to begin with. Not to mention that I would not even expect random trade channel puggers to even have my addon installed let alone an addon to preform.

  • #209

The ability to show your resilience and the ability to mark yourself as a healer are the 2 main features I was interested in that would be REALLY helpful for an org leader. Especially in ORG AV's when you may have had to grab some people from /trade and organizing recap groups based on resilience/spec is necessary.

A simple button on the enabler window that changes your name's color to denote you as a healer wouldn't even require any alterations to the UI other than the button being added.

  • #208

Well, as long as you don't copy any of my code, I'm not certain I would even have any sort of legal right to stop you anyway. Although curse and wowinterface are rather author-friendly and may do it regardless.

I'm not saying I would try to have it removed, but I would like to ask what you wanted to add exactly.
