About Quartz: Procs Module

About

This module requires Quartz to be installed, and it will use the Mirror module to add some class specific buffs/procs/ and certain cooldown timers. The options can be accessed by typing /procs ~ For even more configuration type /quartz, click on the 'Mirror' module in the Quartz options (or type /procs and click the settings tab and click the button there). There you can change almost anything related to the timer bar (width, height, font, texture, etc).

You can disable any buffs/procs that are already added, as well as customize a sound for each. Any buff/proc that isn't added, you can add yourself by making a custom buff/proc in the options. You can also create custom bar for cooldown tracking for any spell. Just simply type /procs to access the options panel.

    Nice find :P

I just want to let everyone know a new version is coming out soon. It's gonna be beta for awhile because I had to start over from scratch (kinda). I'm using alot of code from Proxxy, that I've been working on.

Quartz: Procs was long overdue for a reworking of the code though. Alot of the bugs and stuff that are still around, is mostly because of the weird code I have going on with it. The new version will make it easier to maintain for me.

The new version will also have accurate timers; I found a way so I can make a timer start off at any point... like if there's a 30 minute timer (like Inner Fire) and you login and there's only 15 minutes left, it will show 15 minutes, and the timer will be half way finished. That isn't something that would work with the current version. And for the most part... I needed this to work so I could get stacks working for all spells (which I explain below).

Also, all stacks for spells should work now. You can add Inner Fire as a custom proc, and it will show the stacks correctly, and keep the correct time. Same goes for spells like Serendipity, Maelstrom Weapon, Water Shield to name a few.

The only thing is... I wanted to make this into a module for Quartz again... Right now it's a module sorta... it's pretty much a separate addon that loosely ties into Quartz. I wanted to go back to the module thing fully, because I can get rid of the libs, I can put the options with the rest of the Quartz modules, and it just makes more sense, and probably uses less memory this way too. The problem is, it's gonna use a different database, so all the custom procs will be lost. Hopefully that isn't a big deal for you guys :3

Just wanted to explain a little more (walls of text woot). The only limitations on this addon is the Mirror module that it uses. I could make a Quartz module that creates its own bars, and I'd have full control over how it was presented. But that's sorta what Proxxy does, and Proxxy can work without Quartz. So that's one big reason I wanna keep this strictly a Quartz module. It may be somewhat limited (mostly just the fact you can't create "solid" timers (like Mote of Flame procs), but it does what it needs to (watches procs seamlessly integrated with Quartz).

If I made a whole new module that didn't tie into the Mirror module... then I think it wouldn't be so seamless (sorta how Proxxy is now, it has to move the Mirror module out of the way, to make room for itself), and you'd have an extra module that you'd have to place, instead of having everything show up in the Mirror module. Hopefully that makes sense...

Is there any chance of more than 4 custom bars in the future... puleeeze.
  • #302
What do you mean? You can add as many custom procs as you need.
  • #300
Is there anyway you guys are going to make a way to make the proc bars bigger because I feel they are too small. I remember there was a time you could resize them but can't find it now.
  • #307
It's /quartz then click Mirror and all the settings to change the bars are there. I'm working on a new version right now (its in the alpha stage) that has a tab for settings, then explains that you need to customize the Mirror module to configure the size/position/texture of the bars. It also has a button that takes you straight to the Mirror module settings to change all those settings.

Could you please add Molten Core, Decimation and Demonic Pact as options to the Warlock Proc list, as they are quite important for Demo Locks to be watching :)

Maybe even Metamorphosis and Demonic Frenzy, but they are triggered by the player themselves, so not really considered procs, more as buffs.

Have you considered adding in customisable notifications for these procs? Such as sounds from the shared lib or warnings which could be linked in to Blizz combat text or something? I dont like the way a lot of combat texts dont allow for choice of very specific buffs to watch in a raid situation, so If you added the functionality for these things to pop up and make a noise when they procced, it would mean we would only be getting told about specific events which matter to us as individuals, I couldnt care less about horn of winter when I want to know exactly when my Molten Core procs ;)
  • #299
Molten Core, Decimation, and Metamorphosis are already added. Are they not showing up for you? I don't think Demonic Pact is on there but you can add it as a custom proc. Just type /procs and click on Custom Procs category.

Also sounds have been part of the addon since v3 I believe. Just type /procs and click on the spell you want to set the sound for. There's a dropdown box under Sound.

As for adding them into combat texts. I never really thought about it. Most addons for combat texts usually list when you get something, but I guess it's something I could add for Blizzard's combat text. I'll look into it.

I got v0.21beta out for Proxxy. I added Blizzard casting bar anchoring, configuration mode (kinda simple for now), animation for the bars when timer is running low, cooldown for custom procs (you can track internal cooldowns on trickets and such, or just track the cooldown of when the ability will be usable again), and quite a few bug fixes.

I'm using SVN for Proxxy now, so I will probably update it often while I'm adding new things (no more waiting on approvals, yay). I'm gonna add a debuff bar right now, since I really want Proxxy to be a standalone addon... well there's gonna have to be a way to watch your debuffs :)

I updated to 3.0.7 and now it appears all the bars have disappeared. Is there a mod that might be interfering with this addon? The /procs command still works, and the settings windows appears, but the bars fail to appear on my bars.
  • #291
If there is no errors... You can try 3.0.6 again, or try the proxxy beta. It's basically the same as what the alpha for this used to be, but I've updated it recently. It's at:

  • #293
I'm such an idiot... I had the mirror module disabled which obviously then wouldn't shot the timer/procs bars.

    -1 internets for me.
  • #294
Ah, yea that would do it :P

Well at least I know that's something to make sure people check next time they have a problem with the addon :)
