About Quest Completist

Quest Completist

Enables you to see what quests you have completed, and what ones you still have to do. Supports server query, allowing you to query the blizzard server for all quests you have completed in the past.

Use /qc or /questc to open the main interface, or assign a key binding.

Hold left-shift and click to toggle completed status, hold left-alt and click to toggle unattainable status.

Version 105 - Garrison Pin Removal, Community Editor Thanks

  • Thanks to all members of the community using the Community Editor (Info below). All the quest tweaks you have made are automatically included within this release. Please continue contributing!
  • I have disabled map pins in the Horde and Alliance Garrison zones. These were overly messy, inaccurate due to people having buildings in different places, and were questionably useful as you will pretty much always see a "!" if you are in that zone. Obviously the quests still exist in the quest listings of the UI.

Community Editor Live!

I have hosted my QC database online, and written some software which allows me to generate the Lua code for the addon directly from this central data. This software enables anyone to view the database outside of the game, and also allows the community to contribute corrections if they spot any on their travels (Viewing is available to everyone, you need to contact me for sign on details if you want to save changes). This is obviously completely optional, but your changes are audited then saved directly back to the live database, and will be included in the next iteration of the add-on automatically!

The software can be accessed as a Microsoft ClickOnce application: Here

Still plenty of work to do (Support for map pins, etc on the way), but here is a peek of what the basic quest editor looks like:

Features

  • Lists all quests for each zone.
  • Provides at-a-glance quest feedback, which other similar quest trackers do not. For example a yellow "!" for uncompleted quests, a blue "!" or "?" for Daily and Repeatable quests and so on. This helps prevent confusion, as blizzard never concider Repeatables or Dailys "completed". It also flags special quests as orange, for example the collectors edition quests, or quests which can no longer be done.
  • Automatically switches zones as you travel around the world.
  • Allows you to view or hide quests for the opposing force, or for other classes.
  • Quest tooltips when hovering over them on the QC list.
  • Quest icons will appear on the world map for quest you have not yet completed.
  • Functionality to display what quests are "In Progress" when browsing the quest lists. If a quest is in progress (i.e In your quest log), then you will see either a grey "?" or a yellow "?", reflecting if the quest is "in progress but not complete" or "in progress and ready to hand in".
  • Supports server query.

Any feedback would be great.

This may appear to happen as a panda, as I still have a lot of work to do in flagging the old world quests which pandas can complete. As a workaround you can switch off the race filter and the quests will appear.

Seems that some quests are showing up on the world map even though I have this feature disabled.

This is happening to me too. I'm also seeing daily quests showing on the map that aren't valid (since they can rotate between different sets per day).

There is no way to detect what random dailies will be active, all quests will always be shown. As for the ! Icons with no tooltips when you hover over them, these are Blizzards own.

  • #777

The few icons which appear are actually put in by Blizzard. It's their way of leading you to the non-linear quest hubs for your level, or to point you in the direction of where to go next.

I would like to help with adding Pandaren to the QC but I'm not sure how to do it or where to go. If you can point me in the right direction I will do what I can. Thanks...Cool

I am going through all the Horde starting areas with my Panda but there are no quests showing up.  When I went to the Orc and Troll starting areas it worked fine i think. (first time back at WoW after not playing for about 4 years).  In Undead starter area only one quest showed up.  Now I am in Blood Elf starter area and nothing is showing at all.

Edit: Umm I was having another look at the filters and UNchecked Hide Other Race & Class Quests and now I see all the quests available and completed for the starting areas.  There are some for each race that are only available for that race now.  (use to be able to do them). So an option to hide other class quest but show other race quests would be nice.

There is a quest in Eversong quest ID 9067 The Party Never Ends which my Panda could not turn in until I logged out, deactivated the mod, and logged back in. (It showed on the map but when I got to the quest guy there was not ? over his head until I deactivated).

i have no quests shown in qc or on the map. i have cleared cache, and performed server queries. I have also completely deleted the addon, and reinstalled a fresh copy.

Update: So it works in pandaria, just not anywhere else.

    Also having this issue.

  • #773

That's strange. I will look into it.

  • #770

Server query still not working properly with the new version.  It updates once fine, but will not update again, unless I clear update cache.

  • #771

It is likely working fine, however blizzard throttle the number of times it can be executed and how often (At the moment I think it is once every 15 minutes or so).

If you try and run one when you have had QC do one recently, or is another addon had ran a query, then it won't work. Unfortunately not much can be done about this - simply wait a while and run again.

Most of the time however you will never need more than 1 query at the beginning, completed quests are then updated as you go.

    Re: Quest Completist Update Timeframe

Any chance you can give timeframe for next update due to live release of MoP? I can't say anything is missing as I just came back to WoW after being gone over a year. Didn't find out about the addon until I was almost finished with most of the MoP quests too. Wish I could help add anything missing or incorrect. Just curious if there is any update soon as I know there are some class, alliance/horde, craft specific, etc quests to be added/removed. Great addon though. Absolutely fantastic tool!!

Just released a new one about an hour ago, it will take Curse a little while to authorise it, i guess it will be done by tomorrow morning!

  • #769

Talk about timing! Thanks. I've been working on a project for work since shortly after I asked. I just happened to take a break and check Curse for any updates and it is there! Much appreciated and I applaud your work!
