About Quest Completist

Quest Completist

Enables you to see what quests you have completed, and what ones you still have to do. Supports server query, allowing you to query the blizzard server for all quests you have completed in the past.

Use /qc or /questc to open the main interface, or assign a key binding.

Hold left-shift and click to toggle completed status, hold left-alt and click to toggle unattainable status.

Version 105 - Garrison Pin Removal, Community Editor Thanks

  • Thanks to all members of the community using the Community Editor (Info below). All the quest tweaks you have made are automatically included within this release. Please continue contributing!
  • I have disabled map pins in the Horde and Alliance Garrison zones. These were overly messy, inaccurate due to people having buildings in different places, and were questionably useful as you will pretty much always see a "!" if you are in that zone. Obviously the quests still exist in the quest listings of the UI.

Community Editor Live!

I have hosted my QC database online, and written some software which allows me to generate the Lua code for the addon directly from this central data. This software enables anyone to view the database outside of the game, and also allows the community to contribute corrections if they spot any on their travels (Viewing is available to everyone, you need to contact me for sign on details if you want to save changes). This is obviously completely optional, but your changes are audited then saved directly back to the live database, and will be included in the next iteration of the add-on automatically!

The software can be accessed as a Microsoft ClickOnce application: Here

Still plenty of work to do (Support for map pins, etc on the way), but here is a peek of what the basic quest editor looks like:

Community Editor

Features

  • Lists all quests for each zone.
  • Provides at-a-glance quest feedback, which other similar quest trackers do not. For example a yellow "!" for uncompleted quests, a blue "!" or "?" for Daily and Repeatable quests and so on. This helps prevent confusion, as blizzard never concider Repeatables or Dailys "completed". It also flags special quests as orange, for example the collectors edition quests, or quests which can no longer be done.
  • Automatically switches zones as you travel around the world.
  • Allows you to view or hide quests for the opposing force, or for other classes.
  • Quest tooltips when hovering over them on the QC list.
  • Quest icons will appear on the world map for quest you have not yet completed.
  • Functionality to display what quests are "In Progress" when browsing the quest lists. If a quest is in progress (i.e In your quest log), then you will see either a grey "?" or a yellow "?", reflecting if the quest is "in progress but not complete" or "in progress and ready to hand in".
  • Supports server query.

Any feedback would be great.

Is there a setting to change the quest level number from required to the actual level of the quest?

  • #1142

I can double check, but i was fairly sure the quest number provided is the quest level, not the required level.

  • #1138

The Hinterlands and Stranglethorn Vale quests aren't showing up. Also in Arathi Highlands, I'm seeing two quest chains from the horde side. Those from Deathmaster Dwire and Doctor Gregory Victor. Cheers for the great mod.

just woundering mate how long till hiding the other proffession quest will be implamented cause its not working for me at all ive got them ticked but they are still showing on my map

I completed Aberrations of Bone with my L90 Paladin (after converting to "At War" with Argent Dawn to pick-up the quest), but it does not appear that I got credit for completing the quest in Quest Completist.  I'm back to max Exhalted with Argent Dawn, so I would have to go back to "At War" again to reduce my rep to get the quest again and I don't even know if it would work.  Can this be fixed?  I imagine Annals of the Silver Hand will have the same problem, but I haven't tried it yet.

Errm, i installed the program you linket, but how do i remove it again, i found out i did not need it anyway ? But cant find it under installed programs ?

  • #1134

all quests completed and not r showing as yellow exclamations so how can i know what ones r incomplete unless i remember each 1

    TomTom

Clicking on quest from the QC list does not spawn TomTom waypoint arrow. Clicking a quest in the QC list only marks it as a red "X" am I doing something wrong or have a misunderstood the integration here ?

Thanks for all your work on this as well !

  • #1131

What is the best place to report missing quests?

  • #1132

For the moment email me the missing quest ID's.

    Thanks

Can't wait for an update.. some quests are there, some quests are not, some quests are nils!

You run across location just to find out you did that quest years ago.

  • #1143

Working on the nil problem, and merging in all the user corrections on the Community Editor. (Thanks to all who are using it!)

  • #1145

I wish I knew how to use it.

As a Horde troll, I just completed We Must Construct Additional Pylons in Talador 4/10/2015. A note popped up that I should add this note in the Editor for Completist. I don't have .Net, so couldn't install.

I assume before you were able to do that you did quest 35249 "Powering the Defenses".  The Grail addon indicates that you either need to do that one or 34458, which also has the same name.  Were you also able to get quest 33530 "Nightmare in the Tomb"?
