About Quest Completist

Quest Completist

Enables you to see what quests you have completed, and what ones you still have to do. Supports server query, allowing you to query the blizzard server for all quests you have completed in the past.

Use /qc or /questc to open the main interface, or assign a key binding.

Hold left-shift and click to toggle completed status, hold left-alt and click to toggle unattainable status.

Version 105 - Garrison Pin Removal, Community Editor Thanks

  • Thanks to all members of the community using the Community Editor (Info below). All the quest tweaks you have made are automatically included within this release. Please continue contributing!
  • I have disabled map pins in the Horde and Alliance Garrison zones. These were overly messy, inaccurate due to people having buildings in different places, and were questionably useful as you will pretty much always see a "!" if you are in that zone. Obviously the quests still exist in the quest listings of the UI.

Community Editor Live!

I have hosted my QC database online, and written some software which allows me to generate the Lua code for the addon directly from this central data. This software enables anyone to view the database outside of the game, and also allows the community to contribute corrections if they spot any on their travels (Viewing is available to everyone, you need to contact me for sign on details if you want to save changes). This is obviously completely optional, but your changes are audited then saved directly back to the live database, and will be included in the next iteration of the add-on automatically!

The software can be accessed as a Microsoft ClickOnce application: Here

Still plenty of work to do (Support for map pins, etc on the way), but here is a peek of what the basic quest editor looks like:

Features

  • Lists all quests for each zone.
  • Provides at-a-glance quest feedback, which other similar quest trackers do not. For example a yellow "!" for uncompleted quests, a blue "!" or "?" for Daily and Repeatable quests and so on. This helps prevent confusion, as blizzard never concider Repeatables or Dailys "completed". It also flags special quests as orange, for example the collectors edition quests, or quests which can no longer be done.
  • Automatically switches zones as you travel around the world.
  • Allows you to view or hide quests for the opposing force, or for other classes.
  • Quest tooltips when hovering over them on the QC list.
  • Quest icons will appear on the world map for quest you have not yet completed.
  • Functionality to display what quests are "In Progress" when browsing the quest lists. If a quest is in progress (i.e In your quest log), then you will see either a grey "?" or a yellow "?", reflecting if the quest is "in progress but not complete" or "in progress and ready to hand in".
  • Supports server query.

Any feedback would be great.

On Sunstrider Isle near Silvermoon City you can see all other classes quests on main map. Please remove them when you have time.

Why does some quest just show nil when i look at them in the map.

  • #1171

hi the addon is not hiding completed quests for me. is there a fix?

  • #1169

Hi, thanks for the awesome work!

But just one question, were the pins for quests that start from loot removed? Missing those a lot.

    Thanks!

Amazing addon, can't go without since I found it

The only thing I regret, is that there is no minimap icon (or morganna slidebar icon, if you know of it)

And no icon on the map to hide/show the icons.

That would be amazing if it could be added :)

Does not hide complete quests on map

  • #1167

same for me and shows some as NIL

Hi! Thanks for this amazing addon I just wanted to ask for one more feature to implement.

Is it possible to automaticly add one server query every time new character or addon on new character is loaded?

Thanks for this addon I was searching for addon like that finally I found some hidden quests in Outland.

  • #1163

Hi there! Thank you so much for providing such a useful and amazing addon! But I've got a question and I will be happy if you answer me :)

I installed this addon for my character with ~500 quests completed already. For example, lets say I've done all quests in the Borean Tundra, so there should not be any exclamation marks on the map. However there is every available mark on the map saying that I haven't completed these quests. How do I get rid of them?

Hope to recieve an answer from you!

    Thanks!

If you open the category menu, GOTO settings at bottom, then server query.

  • #1173

I got this, and it works when i push a server query - the addon will update my map with what quests I've completed.

However, everytime i re-enter the game this clears and I have to do it again, as well as re-setting the "hide completed" options.

Is there a way to make this happen automatically?

edit: This addon is also periodically untracking my active quests. Not sure if this is me doing something wrong of not.

I dont understand how to do this. It's on hide completed quests but they're all still showing. I can't find any server query settings.

  • #1162

ok so i just downloaded this and went to open it in-game. i did the /qc and /questc and it just said that it wasnt a command. is there something i need to do before i open it? do i need to put the file in the game?

    Quest Completist

Hey there! I want to start out with that I love your addon. Possibly one of my favorites among npcscan and dbm.

However, there are a few things that annoys me extremely, and that is the bugged or removed quests listed as "nil".

I'm not sure if there are a way to remove said quests manual or an option, but such action would make the addon perfect.

Hey, this is something I have already pretty much fixed and should release soon along with new 6.2 content and lots of user corrections done via the Community Editor!
