About Quest Completist

Quest Completist

Enables you to see what quests you have completed, and what ones you still have to do. Supports server query, allowing you to query the blizzard server for all quests you have completed in the past.

Use /qc or /questc to open the main interface, or assign a key binding.

Hold left-shift and click to toggle completed status, hold left-alt and click to toggle unattainable status.

Version 105 - Garrison Pin Removal, Community Editor Thanks

  • Thanks to all members of the community using the Community Editor (Info below). All the quest tweaks you have made are automatically included within this release. Please continue contributing!
  • I have disabled map pins in the Horde and Alliance Garrison zones. These were overly messy, inaccurate due to people having buildings in different places, and were questionably useful as you will pretty much always see a "!" if you are in that zone. Obviously the quests still exist in the quest listings of the UI.

Community Editor Live!

I have hosted my QC database online, and written some software which allows me to generate the Lua code for the addon directly from this central data. This software enables anyone to view the database outside of the game, and also allows the community to contribute corrections if they spot any on their travels (Viewing is available to everyone, you need to contact me for sign on details if you want to save changes). This is obviously completely optional, but your changes are audited then saved directly back to the live database, and will be included in the next iteration of the add-on automatically!

The software can be accessed as a Microsoft ClickOnce application: Here

Still plenty of work to do (Support for map pins, etc on the way), but here is a peek of what the basic quest editor looks like:

Community Editor

Features

  • Lists all quests for each zone.
  • Provides at-a-glance quest feedback, which other similar quest trackers do not. For example a yellow "!" for uncompleted quests, a blue "!" or "?" for Daily and Repeatable quests and so on. This helps prevent confusion, as blizzard never concider Repeatables or Dailys "completed". It also flags special quests as orange, for example the collectors edition quests, or quests which can no longer be done.
  • Automatically switches zones as you travel around the world.
  • Allows you to view or hide quests for the opposing force, or for other classes.
  • Quest tooltips when hovering over them on the QC list.
  • Quest icons will appear on the world map for quest you have not yet completed.
  • Functionality to display what quests are "In Progress" when browsing the quest lists. If a quest is in progress (i.e In your quest log), then you will see either a grey "?" or a yellow "?", reflecting if the quest is "in progress but not complete" or "in progress and ready to hand in".
  • Supports server query.

Any feedback would be great.

Hey, thanks for the info. By the looks of the comment below the top image, it's possible to "miss" this quest and not be able to complete it due to having Investigate the Wreckage already picked up, however I should be able to add a mutually exclusive check in to flag that as done when Investigate the Wreckage is done. In the mean time, open your quest list for that zone, and Shift+Left Mouse Click it, which will flag it as done and remove the marker from the map.

I'm also working on clearing up the nils =)

Lastly, you will sometimes see quests for yourself, this basically means that you don't pick it up from someone else, it just pops up on your screen.

    Thank you!

Just popped in to say I love your addon.

    Keep up the great work!

Hi and thanks for this addon.

I wanted to know if you planned to have quest names displayed in the current client language (French for me) because quest names are in English both on the map and into the Quest Completlist panel so far.

    Best regards.

Adding full multilingual support would be a massive undertaking, but it's certainly something I will keep in the back of my mind if I can find a sensible way to gather that data in the different languages. In the mean time, even though the map pins and quest lists show in English, if you hover over the quests in the quest list, the tooltip should show in your local language.

hey :) i just wondering if you can upfrade this addon to mach 6.1 it would be nice alot of quest i havent done yet :P

  • #1112

I should have an update out hopefully within a week, hopefully including map pins also.

  • #1110

I can do /qc and bring up the popup window.  It will bring up a list of quests I need in the area that I pick under catagories but when I go to my map there are no yellow ! markers on the map at all.  On any map in all zones....can you help?

Im missing all the quest pins in blade's edge mountains. I have them on all other old outland maps? No errors showing or anything. Also great addon :)

A great little addon, helps many times with finding hidden quests or lost quest lines. Also saves keeping quests in your log so you can get back to them later, freeing up your small 25 log.

My only suggestion for improvement is that while you can show all quests, or hide the ones completed. Maybe have an option that only hides quests that aren't dailies that you have completed. This way completed dailies stay on, and you can always find where your dailies start?

This addon still shows quests I've already completed.  For example, it still says I have about 5 quests to do in Westfall, yet I've done them.  It also says I have done none of the starting quests for Dwarfs, yet I have.  Does this have something to do with the Cataclysm revamp of the original zones and possible changing what the quests number waqs in teh database?

The map is littered with "!" yet there are no quests to be found (because I've already done them) and the settings to hide them don't work.

@Congelatore - there is an option to scan or request your quests from the server, which clears up past completed quests. Then in the filter you can hide completed quests.

  • #1109

So going into Interface>Addons>Quest Completionist and checking the second box "Hide Completed Quests"  then type /qc to get the quest list up, clicking categories>Settings>Perform Server Query... doesn't work? That's all I did on mine..

  • #1108

I have already been doing this to no avail.

Hi, when will it be compatible with 6.1? I miss the addon :(
