Enables you to see what quests you have completed, and what ones you still have to do. Supports server query, allowing you to query the blizzard server for all quests you have completed in the past.

Use /qc or /questc to open the main interface, or assign a key binding.

Hold left-shift and click to toggle completed status, hold left-alt and click to toggle unattainable status.

Broker support: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/broker-quest-completist.aspx

Version 102 - WoD Quests and the new Community Editor!

  • Fixed an issue where map icons were not being removed properly, leading to duplication.

Version 101 - WoD Quests and the new Community Editor!

Over the past few months I have been preparing for WoD, and have also been working hard on a new out-of-game Community Editor tool so that its much easier for everyone to have their input into the QC database, and together make it as accurate as possible.

IMPORTANT NOTE: At first my primary goal is to ensure there are full and accurate quest listings per zone for WoD, map pins, etc will come after (And support for map pins will be added to the Community Editor).

  • Hopefully most quests are now in the database.
  • There are ALOT of behind the scenes changes, so if I have broken something please let me know.
  • Not all faction\race\class flags are going to be perfect at this stage, so you may want to adjust filters as needed.

Community Editor Live!

I have hosted my QC database online, and written some software which allows me to generate the Lua code for the addon directly from this central data. This software enables anyone to view the database outside of the game, and also allows the community to contribute corrections if they spot any on their travels (Viewing is available to everyone, you need to contact me for sign on details if you want to save changes). This is obviously completely optional, but your changes are audited then saved directly back to the live database, and will be included in the next iteration of the add-on automatically!

The software can be accessed as a Microsoft ClickOnce application: Here

Still plenty of work to do (Support for map pins, etc on the way), but here is a peek of what the basic quest editor looks like:

Community Editor

Features

  • Lists all quests for each zone.
  • Provides at-a-glance quest feedback, which other similar quest trackers do not. For example a yellow "!" for uncompleted quests, a blue "!" or "?" for Daily and Repeatable quests and so on. This helps prevent confusion, as blizzard never concider Repeatables or Dailys "completed". It also flags special quests as orange, for example the collectors edition quests, or quests which can no longer be done.
  • Automatically switches zones as you travel around the world.
  • Allows you to view or hide quests for the opposing force, or for other classes.
  • Quest tooltips when hovering over them on the QC list.
  • Quest icons will appear on the world map for quest you have not yet completed.
  • Functionality to display what quests are "In Progress" when browsing the quest lists. If a quest is in progress (i.e In your quest log), then you will see either a grey "?" or a yellow "?", reflecting if the quest is "in progress but not complete" or "in progress and ready to hand in".
  • Supports server query.

Any feedback would be great.

    Hey,

You can shift-click quests to manually flag them as complete, or alt-click quests to manually flag them as unattainable.
  • #486
I also have quests showing that shouldn't. I have tried a complete clean install and there are still some that show, even though they have been done. These are usually noob area quests, but there are a few in almost every zone that show, even though completed. Even after a purge and new server query.
  • #487
The completed quest data comes directly from the servers, so I can't think why this could be.

I should be able to narrow down the reason though. Can you provide some quest ID's where this happens and I will have a look?
  • #484
In the feature list you say "Quest icons will appear on the world map for quest you have not yet completed." Yet it seems my map is showing ALL quests, completed or not, on the map, no matter which options I activate.

Also, Silverpine forest shows no icons at all.

I guess this is something that's 'in progress', but just in case I thought I'd let you know.

Have you done a server query? Bring up the menu by clicking the Zones button, then close to the bottom "Perform Server Query".

Thanks for letting the author of the LDB for QC know of the change. Curious question, why isn't there native support for LDB in your addon?
  • #481
I like to confirm I am not able to click on the QC icon in my LDB after updating to Version 0.99.1. I am using the ChocolateBar Broker Display at http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/chocolatebar.aspx Never had a problem with it before. I uninstalled the older QC before installing fresh.
  • #482
I have messages the author of the broker addon with details on how to correct the issue. I'm sure he will release an update soon.
  • #478
Do you have anything to do with the broker addon? Because after updating to recent QC version I can no longer open my QC window by clicking the broker button in my titan panel.
  • #479
I don't maintain that addon, however I have messaged the author with details on how to correct the problem.

    Hi,
excellent addon! Simple and intuitive. I came here looking for something that I found under "Future features"; LoD support, and wanted to +1 that. I value short loading times, and loading a 10 MB addon every time that may not be used at all seems like a waste at those times!

    Thanks
  • #480
I may well implement this at some stage, however at the moment the size is misleading as the addon is running two databases at the moment. With every release, as I convert more data to the new database and map system, this is likely to drop a bit.
  • #476
    Update, wooot!

I was wondering if there is any interest in having Quest Completist make use of the Grail quest database backend. It seems there are too many people working on creating quest databases and we should unify our efforts. I have created Wholly, which seems to have the functionality of Quest Completist but adds more features - mostly because Grail offers them. I am thinking with one master quest database all the addons that need to make use of this data (things like TourGuide, EveryQuest, etc.) can benefit.
  • #473
I have had a look at your Grail database and API, and I can see you have put a lot of work into them, however I am keen to keep QuestCompletist independent. There is a lot of work going on in the background to upgrade my database, add new features, improve the map system, etc. in preparation for QC Version 1.0, and a lot of that will probably end up matching the features of your API.

Keep up the good work though, I am sure there are other add-ons which will be very keen to use your data.
