About Quest Completist

Quest Completist

Enables you to see what quests you have completed, and what ones you still have to do. Supports server query, allowing you to query the blizzard server for all quests you have completed in the past.

Use /qc or /questc to open the main interface, or assign a key binding.

Hold left-shift and click to toggle completed status, hold left-alt and click to toggle unattainable status.

Version 105 - Garrison Pin Removal, Community Editor Thanks

  • Thanks to all members of the community using the Community Editor (Info below). All the quest tweaks you have made are automatically included within this release. Please continue contributing!
  • I have disabled map pins in the Horde and Alliance Garrison zones. These were overly messy, inaccurate due to people having buildings in different places, and were questionably useful as you will pretty much always see a "!" if you are in that zone. Obviously the quests still exist in the quest listings of the UI.

Community Editor Live!

I have hosted my QC database online, and written some software which allows me to generate the Lua code for the addon directly from this central data. This software enables anyone to view the database outside of the game, and also allows the community to contribute corrections if they spot any on their travels (Viewing is available to everyone, you need to contact me for sign on details if you want to save changes). This is obviously completely optional, but your changes are audited then saved directly back to the live database, and will be included in the next iteration of the add-on automatically!

The software can be accessed as a Microsoft ClickOnce application: Here

Still plenty of work to do (Support for map pins, etc on the way), but here is a peek of what the basic quest editor looks like:

Community Editor

Features

  • Lists all quests for each zone.
  • Provides at-a-glance quest feedback, which other similar quest trackers do not. For example a yellow "!" for uncompleted quests, a blue "!" or "?" for Daily and Repeatable quests and so on. This helps prevent confusion, as blizzard never concider Repeatables or Dailys "completed". It also flags special quests as orange, for example the collectors edition quests, or quests which can no longer be done.
  • Automatically switches zones as you travel around the world.
  • Allows you to view or hide quests for the opposing force, or for other classes.
  • Quest tooltips when hovering over them on the QC list.
  • Quest icons will appear on the world map for quest you have not yet completed.
  • Functionality to display what quests are "In Progress" when browsing the quest lists. If a quest is in progress (i.e In your quest log), then you will see either a grey "?" or a yellow "?", reflecting if the quest is "in progress but not complete" or "in progress and ready to hand in".
  • Supports server query.

Any feedback would be great.

Hey, this is something I have already pretty much fixed and should release soon along with new 6.2 content and lots of user corrections done via the Community Editor!

Hello, i love this addon :)

Can you please update your addon. There are a lot of quests that do not agree or QC dont  know them. (WoD)

In your community editor, most quests are already corrected.

    Update coming soon :)

I just downloaded this to try to figure out what I'm missing in Gorgrond for the achievement. It shows every single quest in the zone as incomplete. I'm on my main, level 100 for a while now, I know I quested through here. I made sure that the option to not show completed quests was checked. Do I have to type a command to make the addon query the server? I've read in various forum that it's supposed to do it on its own.

  • #1156

Open category menu, at bottom GOTO settings, then pick server query

    Thank yoooouuuuu <3

First of all, I love this Addon o.o but may you should make a options button instead hiding it inside categories, I was looking for sth like Server scan for hours

I love this addon. I get the messages to contribute and I'd like to, is there some way to 'dump' the data that's prompting the contribute notices? Like maybe uploading or emailing a certain file somewhere to be parsed?

If that's not possible, is there a file that I can look at on my PC that would show the 'unknowns' that my questing has generated? This would at least let me make changes en masse.

http://www.wowhead.com/quest=25197/the-admiral-wont-back-down This quest isn't in the database of your addon.

Can you tell me how i can assign a key binding for this addon?i am new to the game

Been about 8 months since I played WOW... installed it a few days ago as well as this add-on. Could have sworn that before, Quests not yet available were in a different colour/shade... did that change or am I remembering it wrong? I'll run to an area with a yellow ! and there's nothing there because not available yet. Weren't they in a grey/yellow before?

Hey, unfortunately it has never supported that functionality. Blizzard doesn't expose the information required to provide it, and it's simply too big of a job to do it fully and accurately via manual collecting.

That is why it has been suggested many times to use the Grail database, since this is part of what it provides.

I have that addon and this one and they both dont tell you what quests are currently available at that time, just what quests need to be done. So you have to run around from "!" to the next on your map until you find one that is ready to do......

Have you tried using the addon Wholly?  It works with the Grail data, so you can display  on your map only the quests that you have available at any time.  Quest Completist does not use the Grail data, so that is why it cannot do this.
